I like to ride the lightning on thunder edge guards. Playing footsies is hilarious because in my experience, whoever lands the first dtilt goes in hard.
Just hanging right outside the hitbox on both scenarios. It's so awesome.

You ever get into a series of skirmishes with a Pikachu at close range, and none of your attacks land? I think Prime and I did that once for like ten seconds. DBZ crap.

Sometimes if they let the thunder hit them and you manage to hover around, it's a free bair or fair. It's hilarious.

we did that in a couple matches, but instead of all the attacks missing, it was just us SDIing out of everything and punishing

there was also 4 seperate occasions where I would try to either back throw him into a wall and would tech and immediately nair me, or i would try to down throw him into a wall and he would tech that and immediately down smash me.

I was impressed and saddened at the same time.

punishing thunder jolts is also very anime, like in DBZ budokai 3, if you shot the regular kai blasts while the other guy was running at you, they would just bounce off him. Thats what it feels like when he does a full hop jolt, and i run from the other side of the stage, powershield it, and immediately keep running to hit him with a grab fair or dash attack.

p.s. dash attack is an amazing move and everybody should use it more. but only at %s and timings that dont get you punished for it.

I can DI out of dsmash fast enough to set up a fsmash now. I get hit with it often. Does suck when you get caught right before it ends and pop straight up.

Dash attack is amazing. If you hit with the very first part of it and you were at pretty much point blank range when it started, you can get away with it at even lower percents than usual. The closer you are when it starts up and connects, the better the chances are that you won't get punished.

Dash attack > dash away > fsmash was one of my favorite things to do back in 09. Still works sometimes.

Im still the only person ive ever seen that shields an entire pikachu down smash consistently.

espy, if you go back where I told you and go a page back youll find some really cool dash attack stuff. but it actually requires you to hit with the very end of it.

I'm glad that you both have come to this realization.
It's amazing when buffered in so many boxing situations, close range its unpunishable, and at max range(which is pretty far away mind you) if you shield it's difficult to punish without a hard read.
