I have two months until I go to Japan for Sunrise. In that time I'll be training non-stop going Sonic only. AT's, strategies and match-up ideas, the single nanner lock, I'm going to be practicing to fully impliment all of this into my gameplay. It's gonna be a heckuva change, but I'm going to do you all proud and place. If they're already expecting me (not much Sonic gameplay over there), I have to make a good showing.

That being said, I'll likely be more active over the Sonic boards here to ensure that I keep up the pace. It's about time I brought myself back into relevance; or better yet, brought Sonic back. It just sucks I don't live in the States where most people pay attention to.
Good luck and train hard

Espy vs Dojo in 2011.

You won't find alot of high level Sonic vs MK stuff though. Often enough MKs will deal with Sonic without needing alot of experience in the matchup and WC doesn't upload/post alot of stuff it seems so no X vids.

Espy vs M2K is bad example. Espy played bad and M2K didn't play the matchup as well as Dojo.

Well I actually provided a link to a video that can possibly help him.
I didn't say it was the best, just another example that can be considered a bit good.

All I know for MK is some random things like if they D-Air your Shield you get a free F-Air on them. And F-Air beats Glide. And if you drop down in the tornado with F-Air you can knock him out of tornado. And then supposedly if you react fast enough when a MK is facing you and hits your shield with D-Smash you can F-Smash if your react perfectly.

Edit: @Meek: Alright shall try that out then. Thanks

It's been a pretty long time since any Sonic has taken a set off of a notable MK :urg:

Unless X is doing work and we just don't know...I'd really like to see how he does vs. MK nowadays

But seriously, it just looks like we've got to hope and pray once we get in the air...

Edit: Are we going to keep those MU exports going?

Sorry I never replied back True Blue and BSP, dat alcohol.... lol

Yes, I do some "smashfests" but im Air Force- stationed on the base. So its annoyingly difficult to get ppl. On base, my friends are all casual no0bs. In that they all say they will beat me. Then I shatter their egos by 3 stocking them.

As far as the folks in town, I found out about Brawl tournies in town 2 months ago. The first one had 22 entrants. Decent for a local.

I helped put up fliers, got ppl interested in Dubs and even went to some players' houses to play and practice. We had 10 entrants the last one :/

The newbies just got so disheartned they wont come back. We have one the 16th at an anime expo in town. So entry is free (hoping random casuals will come and show a real interest)

Really, I don't have a clue on how to "spark" anything. Rapid City, SD is like a 70k population and ppl game heavily here. Does not compute that I can't get something going. Im driving 8hrs at the end of the month to Omaha just for a decent skilled scene :/

Your welcome. I remember when I heard about the set from those two and I thought they were trolling me because they were saying X stomped him and they both kept laughing so I thought it was fake lol. Then after Apex I saw the video online and was like "Whaaaaa? They weren't trolling me!" lol. Apex was fun lol

Awal learned "Dont airdodge against ZSS"

O and seeing that Most of FL has NO Sonic Exp(I, DIH, DarkSonic nor any other Sonic traveled) that _X_ simply ran thru FL MK's in the past. (See Crew battle Brik vs _X_ and Red vs _X_)

alot of the match you can notice part in which they just ran into stuff they had no knowledge about...

:sonic:

Also... any1 have Ike or Snake advice... Apparently I'm still bad against Snake... PERIOD... or maybe I dont know how to adjust to my Snake opponent adjusting.

Take advantage of those Snake players that don't cook their grenades long enough. Take those grenades and throw them right back. If you're really good enough, instant-catch & toss them straight back.

Otherwise, your best bet in fighting Snake is to get them off stage as soon as possible. If you have to punish them OoS with UAir or FAir to do it, or get a lucky back throw, it'll build on the damage. The occassional ASC to the top of their shield before retreating works too.

But personally for me, using his grenades right back at him is a good tool. There was one time I spinshot straight overtop a Snake's head who threw a grenade up at me. The timing was tight but I instant-caught it, threw it back down on them, landed right beside them. Before they could punish me with an FTilt or something (foolish mistake they should have hid in the shield), the grenade exploded and I FSmashed them right out of it.

You gotta be very careful of the fights you pick with Snake too, considering how quickly he can straight-up murder your ***.

I've been getting owned by the MK MU as of late X_x

Sorry to hear that, I usually just bait out alot of SLs and Nados using retreating ASC and SDSC. It seems to work pretty well, I usually don't have too much trouble w/ the MU(then again I've mostly only gotten to test that stuff out on wifi), just requires you to play really safe.

I feel like so long as you don't get gimped it's not that hard since we'll live til like 140, while he'll die at like 120-ish.

I just need to work on my baiting game then. That's what everyone has been telling. Bait with run and spindash stuff.

Still, juggles get me though, but I think that's partially my fault because I've become so accustomed to momentum cancelling every hit, even when it's not necessary, which gives MK lag to punish. I'll keep working at it :\

With snake also remember to hit him high or low. Never in the middle, if you can control it. Like Kuraudo said, keep him off stage and off the ground the most. Because his air game is a little more predictable and easier to handle. And when he FTilts try to SDI behind him to get one up on him.

Ike. You can BAir his Aether. Same as Snake when Ike jabs you try to SDI behind him. But usually Ike can sometimes turn around quick enough so when you do SDI behind him that would be your cue to Up B cause if you Up B infront of him his jab clashes with the spring so doing it from behind gives him some knock back. DTilt is usually safe when his back is facing you cause Ike's BAir will pass over you. This match up spacing helps and knowing when you can get in and out without being punish. And remember Up Smash has 2 hit boxes, the second one comes out when the sword hits the ground but only on the side it is hitting. Watch out for Up Air, and that I can't tell how you dodge it cause I unconsciously dodge it.

Edit: I am not a super expert so if I say something that isn't right just point it out.
