I guess it isn't that hard to do.
I was thinking it would be hard like trying to sing a song on guitar hero at the same time as playing it on expert coz u have to be consistently talking when commentating, i'd probably forget that i'm meant to be commentating for extended periods of time. Like when i was recording brawl matches at one lan, i kept moving the camera away from the screen without knowing it, as i was focusing too much on actually watching the match.

Btw does anyone know any good video game tracks, any fast paced ones at that?
I need to chart something for gh.

Not only do I run reloaded, but I manage a hotel that will do rooms for $40 per person per night during Reloaded. You'll need to email me at jason.lassey@reloadedlan.org to take advantage of this, since i can only offer this as a Reloaded group booking. Bookings must be in by December 31.

There will be an area to sleep in at the event itself for the saturday.

Console

- We are happy to have released the competition formats for the 4v4 Halo 3 BYO Xbox competition. Please see this thread for more details.

- We are also happy to have released some of the competition details for the 4v4 BYO Modern Warfare 2 competition on the xbox. please see this thread

- Gears of War 2 on the xbox will be running as a minor competition.

PC

- based on current trends we have decided to reduce the prize money for DOTA to $500, this competition will likely be a single elimination tournament.

- due to a lack of dedicated server software for the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 release, the Call of Duty competition for Reloaded will be based around COD4. There will however be a $500 prize for this event.[/quote]

Every year we seem to do something wrong, so heres what we've done to improve the event and hopefully learn from our mistakes.

Easier ticketing

Last year there was like a thousand different ticket versions. This year there are two. You are either a BYO or General admission ticket holder. BYO tickets are all access, General admission restricts you to competitions which dont require you to own a PC or xbox - effectively excluding you from major competitions.

As a side note, theoretically there is a third version - but that is the upgrade from General admission to BYO, and is available to winners of tickets from the Gamestah or Netgameradio competitions leading up to the event.

Online ticketing

Online ticketing is done through Welcome - Specials | Adelaide Online Computers.

Reloaded has its own website again

Reloaded has learnt from last year where people didnt know where to go, the Alienware site had precious little actual information and the Valhalla site was a mess. This site is at Reloaded 2010

Media

Gamestah will be broadcasting live and exclusive from the event itself. Ive been told that their top casters are coming down, and we have set aside a specator area near the Counterstrike Team zone for ease of access and viewing.

Scores will be updated live to the Reloaded site, as well as to our twitter account here. Updates may also be posted to the reloaded irc channel at irc.gamesurge.net #reloaded.

Internet Access

Thanks to recent Valhalla developments, we expect everyone to have access to the internet during the event, albeit at a limited speed (something like 5kbps at minimum, but likely to be afair bit higher depending on event needs).

Warcraft and MMO Access

Unlike previous years, its likely that World of Warcraft access will be available throughout the event. Now you can come to Reloaded...and not miss a raid! Aion is also open. Other MMOs may be opened by request depending on the capriciousness of the network admin.

A for real rest area

This year we have ensured that a rest area is available from 1am - 8am on the saturday night for those weak of will. This area is used as the Chillout lounge during the day, and is fully air conditioned and carpeted.

Guaranteed On time opening

We're setting up the day before, so there'll be no rushing around trying to do it all in 4 hours with all sorts of surprises popping up. Doors will open at 11am sharp on the Saturday. If you are coming down and would like to help, you can setup or leave your gear at the centre the day before, thus eliminating the need to bring it with you in the morning.

Guaranteed no fire drill

If the laser tag guys come back they'll be outside this year, so no need to worry about them setting the building on fire.

More competitions

In addition to official Reloaded competitions, each of our vendors and exhibitors will be running minor competitions of their own for prizes of various shapes and descriptions. There should be plenty to do!

On top of that there will be a free play console area in the secondary court, most likely along with a theatre setup for Anime movies, courtesy of the AVCON and EVAC groups.

Ice Climbers should be banned before MK.

Although no character should ever be banned in Brawl, but whatever. I'm no longer going to Squat (cbf) so I'll look forward to this. ^_^

for IC they should just make the rule of cg'ing upto a certain amount of percent or only doing 5 in a row or something. but not ban them.

think it's best for people to accept this game as it is, or play melee.

oh half ban, was you can only use mk to win 1 game in a set. that's ridiculous as there's characters in the game that aren't too much behind mk at the moment.

ally m2k going pretty even

we dont know honestly

the mk rule was devised like, november last year and has only actually been enforced i believe three times since then lol, I'm sure its outdated by now anyway with snake, ic, diddy etc proving to be right up there with him.

also for the record, the IC chaingrab rule is the same deal, implemented last year I believe where it was the texas rules at the time (I know they were overturned shortly after) where it was 5 regrabs per grab (also applies to deathgrabs). Again, this hasnt actually been enforced. It will probably come up for discussion on valhalla forums eventually. Gotta consider reloaded is NOT a brawl event, its aiming to get as many people there as possible. we dont make the rules, they do. if they think infinite chaingrabbing on new players will make them hate the event, who knows :/

mmm earl it is kinda ridiculous, however these guys probably dont ban alot of the stages that should be banned. So mk could just pick some really gay stage and auto-win.......

Lol, I've been pushing for a complete ban on all 'gay' stages but I'ts not a very popular opinion :p

Mansion is definitely banned, however RC and norfair are still allowed, and I would def. push for those 2 to be banned due to MK and other character's shenanigans :/

Honestly, Id go with something like (with stagestriking, i know lylat and FD are dubious as neutrals)
S: FD, BF, SV, YI:B, Lylat
C: Delfino, Frigate, Halberd, PS1, Castle Seige, Pictochat....
are there any other stages in the game? lol

what gave you the impression IC infinites are banned? IDK what valhalla staff will say about the issue. and the removal of RC is just a suggestion at this point, although not many people would care if it was gone... lol

i like delfino, it isn't that bad. Sure MK is really good on that stage, but MK is really good on practically every stage :D
Careful, you'll upset Ilag who will come in here and present a 10 page essay on poor MK's disadvantages on FD.

Stages are pretty much what we use in adelaide anyway.
Personally I dont like Pictochat but its not up to me... Well it kinda is but I want what a majority of people want and think is fairest and best for this tournament.
Continue disscussion on stages please.
