Vocal, since you seem to watch tons of videos, can you list for me some good examples of vids of top Oli players? I almost never watch vids which is very bad.

Yea, until recently most of my video watching was vids in the thread  Then I started looking up Logic's vids because there are a ton of them, and then just now I figured I'd look up Grewards since Rich mentioned him. YouTube search either of them and you'll find a bunch

Well it's usually one of Oli's worst stages (at least while it's in the first transformation), Greward just obviously rewrote the game code

Speaking of, has anyone tried choosing Frigate intentionally? The second part is so great for Oli, especially because of the purple increase; is it worth it to wait out and battle through the first transformation to get to it?

edit: lmao Kirb that really made me laugh :) And what's with the new avvy, I almost didn't recognize you

edit 2: Hilt, wifi maychance?

Frigate is probably our worst stage in most matchups.

You can adapt to Japes and you can adapt to RC, but you can't adapt to a ledgeless side.

I had a thought that would make Keckleon a much more viable pokemon. How about it changes its type to the move that hits it before the actual move hits?

Suddenly Keckleon has many resistances lol.

Frigate is a tight stage

The ledgeless side isn't a problem as long as you have **** DI, and you try not to go to that side. I'm usually pretty good at recovering so that side has never really been an issue for me. Plus, the second part of the stage is a legit CP for oli.

I CP climbers here and ill likely start CPing Ike here too. I never ban this stage.

I like frigate... I used to counterpick people there but MD/va started banning it against me. now they van fd or bf... maybe I'll start going to frigate again

edit: I watched two vids, Greward didn't impress me :/ it was two 3 month old vids of him vs a falco, some reads were nice but he missed so many openings and his kills were way too predictable...maybe I'm weird, I'll just go back to not watching vids and doing my thing

Am I missing something? I want that 7th Pikmin!

This Final Snash can also affect a team player since it involves moving the screen away from the main stage. This means in a team battle, teammates will get hoop damage from being offscreen, even when Friendly Fire is off.
Also false. Remind me to never visit this site for gaming advice, ever.

I've seen a couple websites that have metaknight as one of the worst characters LOL

speaking of strange counterpicks, I take a LOT of people to RC. Almost every character besides GaW, wario, and MK.

Many people are ignorant about this game.

It's not that I find Frigate to be a horrible stage, it's just that in most
matchups Oli does better on any other stage, including Brinstar. Bronstar is fine, Oli plays well there.

You two give me hope :)

lmao "hoop damage"

This was my favorite part
Purple are only good for smashing. Don't throw them: they only go a few inches.
ROFL
That was my favorite too! I gotta go read the rest of the characters now :D

Vocal, you better do something amazing for your 1,000th post.

Just saying.
Well Kirb, I'm glad you mentioned it, because I was planning on it :) I thought I'd use this post for something useful. I've been here a while and I've improved a lot, but that's not just by my own doing; a lot of people here have helped me get to where I am.

Fino, I think you were the first one on here to see me play lol, even if I did suck even more back then. To go back even further, I probably wouldn't have even gotten started playing Olimar if Deflowered didn't exist. You're a great player and I've gotten a lot of good ideas from reading your posts, so thanks.

Draco, even though you were gone for a while after I got here, you still had a pretty big influence on my growth. I spent quite a bit of time watching both your Peach and Pikachu sets in the Piktures thread, and your posts from before you took a break were still here to help me when I needed to look stuff up. Now that you're back, you've always got something helpful to contribute, plus I really like your avatars, even if right now mine is better :p

Weruop, you don't post on here much, but I still find it necessary to credit you here. You're the one that finally forced me to learn to save my second jump and I cannot be more grateful for that :D You really did help my recovery in a lot of different ways and I'd be losing stocks a lot more than I am if you hadn't :)

And finally, Hilt. You're awesome dude  You're the lone mod of the Olimar boards and somehow stuff still gets done around here. True, occasionally you get a little busy and things slow down, but the amount of things that get done around here is impressive considering that it's just one guy behind the wheel. Not only that, you're a fantastic player. You think about the game in ways that I haven't begun to yet; your posts helped me learn SO many thing; and you're always there to answer a question when I need it. Seriously, without you, my Olimar probably wouldn't be anywhere. Thanks Hilt.

And of course there are still others that have helped me too. Zori, Rich Brown, PS/Logic, dabuz - you've all helped me in different ways, sometimes through videos, sometimes through posts, and each of you has improved my game in some manner.

Alright, enough of this sentimental crap. I hate you all.
