Bubble Bobble
Kirby 64
You're my new favorite Olimar.

Looking at a slightly old list, but I recommend:
Yoshi (NES)
Kirby's Adventure (NES)
Adventures of Lolo (NES)
SMB3 (NES)
Bubble Bobble (NES)
Super Ghouls and Ghosts (SNES)
DKC2 (SNES, best DKC game)
Super Metroid (SNES)
Super Mario RPG (SNES)
Secret of Mana (SNES)
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES)
Kirby Super Star (SNES)
Super Mario 64 (N64)
Kirby 64 (N64)
LoZ: Majora's Mask (N64)
Bomberman Blast (Wiiware)

I noticed that they lack a number of quality games, like DK64, Bomberman 1-5 (SNES) or the older FE games. D:
I also didn't mention the Sonic games because Mega Collection is like... $5 nowadays. Bet the original carts from most of these are also less than what Nintendo sells them for. ^^;

DKC2 is one of my top recommendations to anyone who hasn't played the game or heard its incredible soundtrack. Clearly the best soundtrack on the SNES.

I haven't, but I don't really know much about Donkey Kong games really :)

In other news, I think I've figured something out about who I am as a player, and why I'm not improving like I'd like to. If I had to sum up my playing style into one word, it would be reactive. By this, I mean that the majority of what I do is determined by what my opponent does. An extension of this is trying to figure out what his mindgames are and simply work around them. The problem with this is that I don't think I'm proactive enough as a player; I don't do much baiting and I don't set many traps. Does anyone have suggestions about how I can move past this?

Develop your own mindgames and put them to practice before your opponent gets a chance to. "Your" techniques would be a good place to start with that, imo.

Find what tools you can use to force your opponent into doing specific things. If you're good at reacting, make your opponent do certain things that you know you can react to. Pikmin Toss is a great, basic way to create pressure and cause your opponent to fall into a trap. Set up a playstyle that your opponent has to play a certain way to get around, and then counter their playstyle. Know their options and be ready to react to them before or while they're doing it.

I agree. Hilt pretty much covered it.

That's all well and good, but the chatsignal had a reversed effect.

Lol I think I was the first to leave, sry bout that ^v^ I've just pulled wifi all nighters the two nights previous and it was starting to get to me.

And now presenting:

\-=THE OLIMAR SOCIAL QUESTION OF THE DAY!=-/

:olimar:If we were playing mafia, who do you think would make the worst mafia member?:olimar:
Basically, if you aren't sure what that means: who would be the worst liar?

I've decided to just start doing these randomly when inspiration strikes me :)

DETAILS NOW!

Also: I'm watching Noa's videos v. Peach because I'm still VERY nervous about that matchup, and it seems like every time he tries to go for a nair->usmash Peach just nairs out of it. Does that not work on her?

Noa.

Wow those vids are old. But yeah, never use an incomplete nair against Peach. I wasn't trying to do nair->usmash, I was trying to do nair->shield, but her nair was too fast.

Lol yea, I was looking at the date too so I figured perhaps that had something to do with it, that nair is ridiculously fast. Note to self: never iNair against Peach

iNair. I like that. Sounds like an apple product.
I'm tired of typing incomplete nair every time I want to refer to it. Plus yea, it's like Apple :)

If you could somehow simulate an usmash, that'd be awesome. Points for facial expression

Well aren't you a rare sight :) Have you seen the new player directory? It's not complete, but it's definitely worth checking out ;)

Sooooo...

I was just playing an Ike on wifi, and I have to say

Fino's guide is 100% comprehensive O_o

Lol, basically anything besides pivot grab or a well timed fsmash got me grabbed, jabbed, naired, or some combination of the three ^v^;
