I always try to learn from Roy_R, but his playstyle seems very based off of his experience and mindgames, which in turn cannot be recreated accurately by other players. Pretty much I just watch his Marth for face value nowadays. ._.

I feel like Roy_R sort of panicked in the end, and Dojo took advantage of that.

The rest of my comment is on Youtube as the first comment. <_<

Dojo outplayed him on both of the last stocks, so it wasn't really a last minute thing that lost thing the game, though it did contribute ofc.

I don't understand why he kept standing so close to the edge while dojo was hanging on though. He got uair'ed like 5 times.

Well yeah, in my Youtube comment, I explained (kinda) how Dojo eventually caught on to Roy_R's DSes and spotdodge patterns.

I do admire Roy_R for always having something irregular work out for him at least a bit. He always seems to conjure odd things on the fly. He's the master of surprise. You can't really analyze him accurately.

He's too pro. He even uses red.

RoyR did seem nervous. He did a forward throw early on which I think was meant as a premature dash after a release grab and towards the end not only was he semi-spamming DS, but he missed one out of shield I suppose, cause he got caught in a tornado.

i basically could read all of royr's approach in winners final 3

the problem was that his approach was limited to nairs or shff'ed fairs
i hardly saw ANY other approach from him
he would often try to put pressure with nair in front of MK's shield...even though MK is fast enough to grab between nairs w/ a dash grab not to mention he has oos options that neutralize that thread
dojo also adapted VERY quickly

Roy_R used too much DS IMO, and also he should use Uair and Utilt more.
Dojo seemed to simply condition Royr and learned his patterns. It wasnt as much his fault as Dojo just being observant. But yeah your right in some ways too.

I love watching Roy_R, he started playing funky at the end when he went down, though. You can't blame him, it's always tough to keep a cool head when you are losing.

Yeah, I'm not trying to rip on Roy_R at all either, he'sone of my favorite Marth's. But DS shouldn't be used when the opponent is above you, only net to you because it leaves you more open if you don't sweetspot it.

Watch the grand finals. It goes to the 5th match and Roy starts playing better.

Also, roy didn't sleep before this tournament. He stayed up all night with Le_Thien and I playing lol. His eyes were so red it was scary. I don't know how he still ***** when he's that tired XD.

Don't take that as a john either. Dojo's amazing haha.

Dojo has gotten BETTER since then. Roy_R's improvements are still there. Don't be silly. He is just playing a better player.

Roy kept on trying to abuse MK at the edge.....bad ideal. It paid off about 3 times and the others were just to try and apply pressure. Dojo is a smart player indeed. GGs to both of them.

Because trying to play really offensive against a Marth like yours or royr's will just get you dismantled LMAO

I am the only one, or does anyone else notice how many mistakes Roy was making? He was picked off the edge very easily-- too easily. He rarely spaced properly. A lot of his decisions were just poor. I am not attempting to be pessimistic here, Roy did a great job making it to the grand finals. It just seems like Dojo beat him simply by being the better player, and prayed off a lot of mistakes many good Marth players shouldn't and do not make against Meta Knight.

At least that is my observation. Still, congrats to both of them.

I don't know how he can play like that after staying up that long. Apparently, he stayed up the entire night before the tournament. Then, the day of the tournament wasn't just one day. Registration started at 11 am and the Grand Finals took place at around 6 am the next day.

So, well played. (Also, he controlled diddy so well in the loser's finale. That was impressive.)

You oversimplify/overtheorize the actual pace of a Marth vs MK match imo

Dojo won because he capitalized on Marth's mistakes, yeah

but Marth's mistakes vs MK are much harder to cover than MK's mistakes vs Marth

This is a difficult match and MK is really hard to hit consistently without being predicted or ousted by 'betterness', let alone punish

I understand it is. But there just seemed to be a lot of... misinformed errors in the match. Things you just don't do. Fair will never, ever beat Glide Attack. That's an example, and there are more.

Roy played very well, I just felt the need to point this out because I felt he could have done much better had he made the accurate choices in situations.

Throw that P***y at me? B***h I think Im Babe Ruth
Sometime while playing you get caught in the moment of what your gonna do next then get hit by something else.

I am def. not making johns for any1 one just saying sometimes **** happens

learning to minimize that and eliminate it from your gameplay is what makes you get better

Oh god... it's hard to think clearly and intelligently on-the-fly after doing that. There's no way this didn't affect his playing.
