I don't think a game has stressed 'hold my hand' teamwork as much as the Professional mode does in this game. Literally, if you aren't within two feet of your partner when they get hit once by anything, its game over. Capcom has the best hard settings.
I would say Left 4 Dead has pretty extreme difficulty as well. If you don't have a buddy with you at all times, you're dead within minutes.

And yes, Capcom definitely does have the best hard settings. Hell and Hell mode on DMC4 ftw.

The wii-mote aiming was way easier and much faster than any other remote type play out there. But I got used to the xbox's scheme pretty fast and easy.

Yeah, L4D did an amazing job on thier co-op emphasis. And now my head aches at remembering that Hell or Hell mode. I was just playing it last week and beat all the modes up to that one. I managed to get to stage 3 or 4 before I gave up for fear of my remotes and tv's saftey.

I keep trying to not think about the
first Wesker battle with Jill backing him up *oh my lord is she a pain with those guns
in RE 5 on Pro. mode, but I think I'm literally around the corner from it right now. I'll be getting to it tonight when my pal gets on again. All the infinate ammo in the world wont help against him.

In case no one knows, Wesker is now part Falcon. In one of his special moves he can knee a zombie's face off. Too pro.

I downloaded the demo, and to be honest.... I really wasn't impressed. The problem I had with the game is that your enemies had skin made of iron and bones made of titanium (except between the eyes, that's made of cake). I found the game to be more frustrating than fun. Eh, it might be because I kind of suck at shooters or they just made the baddies way to durable.

Wesker is back in Mercs??? My life is complete.

Enemies were always tough to kill in the RE games.

My only problem with the wii-mote aiming is that with RE4 THEY GAVE YOU CROSS HAIRS!

I will state that I have played RE-4 on the wii and while its similiar and at times a little better with long range shots the large crosshair on screen to me just got in the way and took away from the experience.

And yes...Wesker is manly and is so manly that both he and Falcon go drinking and knee-ing all night, and once they're done knee-ing they go hang with HUNK and start breaking some necks.

When I played with normal weapons I killed them in like 2 shots.

"Versus" DLC delayed..... =/

http://kotaku.com/5180419/capcom-delays-versus-resident-evil-5-dlc

"Earlier this month, Capcom announced that this mode would be coming in the coming weeks; however, it apparently had a release date for Japan: March 26.

Due to issues that still need ironing out, the Versus Mode DLC will now be out April 9 according to Capcom's Japanese notice. The Versus mode will cost $5 on the Playstation Network and 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360."

I still thought most people disliked the price and iffy stuff with the DLC, mostly because Versus doesn't seem all that great.

What they should do is add in new characters to mercs. we all know that we want HUNK back, maybe a few new maps (or re-worked RE4 places) and a battle mode that was like earlier RE games.

and this is a long shot but maybe have a mini-story like Ada had in RE4 but with wesker to flesh out further what happened since Code-Veronica and to the point where the battle occured at the Spencer estate where it'll show how Wesker and Jill survived and everything happened prior to RE5

Did anyone else spend the first five minutes shooting their partner to get the aiming down? Cause that's what I did. And then he cut me. >_<

I guess 5 bucks isn't bad for the price of the Versus. At least it's not monthly or something... But I still think it's pretty ****ty that after I bought the game, I still have to pay for content that should have just come with it to begin with. I mean, that's what patches and stuff are for... Imagine having to pay for every patch that came out to add content to a game. It's just really unfair.

But it's a business... So whatever. I'll probably pay for it and just ***** in the process. Haha.

Well I think whats really bothering people is just that it doesn't really seem worth it even though they say that its going to be good since RE doesn't feel like a versus kinda a game...it was survival since I last checked

But I think whats making everyone angry is that the acheivements/trophies are going to be just boring since they don't really sound cool are fun to get if it isn't entertaining or a good challenge.

I still can't believe they're making people pay for versus mode. It doesn't matter if RE isn't the type of game that goes well with versus, the whole principle of paying for a game mode is just wrong.

Imagine if Halo 3 only included slayer gametypes. It'd be like paying for objective gametypes and other game modes in Halo 3.

Man, **** it. I don't like it because it's obviously dirty, but since I can safely afford it, I'll get it. I agree, they need to add a Separate Ways DLC(How in the world did Josh and Jill meet up?!) and new characters. I could definitely see Irving with the first revolver(not the M500), some mines, and the M3 or the Jailbreaker.

The person I want the most as DLC is Leon S. Kennedy!

When I get it, I'm definitely not paying for versus.
And yes, Leon would be a badass addition.

I also approve and agree with not paying for versus since I really don't feel the love in fighting only weskers...I mean cmon the only thing more dangerous than wesker is two wesker

btw sorry if this seems like spoilers but what are your personal favorite weapon types and specific weapon that you used throughout the game's story.

Wouldnt someone end up being Safari Chris for the duo Rockets in versus though? Also Wesker really isnt the be all end all in Merc.s, it really depends on how you play. Flash bang to his face followed up by a run n' gun shotgun blast point blank and all of a sudden Wesker ain't lookin so godly. Boils down to the players and thier skills. Guess we won't really know till you play it. Odds are majority of the people will just pay up and make Capcom happy enough not to change the price.

In the story first playthrough I always stuck with a Sniper. Whichever was the highest model I could find till that point was the one I used. Pretty much just that and the first handgun you get is what I used throughout my entire playthrough while my friend had all the other weapons (shotgun, machineguns, 'special weapons). Made ammo distributing easy and very fast. White and Red boxes were for me, the rest for him. Second play though, I used Magnum and Hydra. You just can't argue with the range on that monster. You don't really need much else.

I just realized something...despite everyone's attitude towards versus...has anybody ever seen any video footage of it? I mean I've seen a picture that didn't really show that much.

Versus could be pretty decent if it was moreover a battle to not only kill off the other players but to get any treasure that is hidden or perhaps be able to escape safely.

Safari Chris huh...yeah I see your point the double rockets could hurt pretty badly but I think anybody with a rifle would be able to pick chris apart unless he was really close or he got the jump on you.

On my playthrough when I was Sheva my profile was dubbed "Not very Epic" I prett made do with a handgun, SMG, and rifle combination while my partner used a handgun, and shottie.

I wanted to use the grenade launcher more but due to inventory restrictions and lack of ammo (and more often than not difficulty killing some guys) I had to pass on it to carry the SMG. A real shame though...I liked the grenade launcher from earlier RE's since it was the best resort when you wanted range of a magnum but needed multiple enemy attack range of a shot-gun. Hunters didn't like it that much especially with acid rounds :)

The grenade launcher is a whole lot of fun. The inventory restictions are a bit annoying, but I was happy when I noticed that you can combine items to make room for more stuff. Like ammo and those herb weed things. :p The lack of ammo does get a bit annoying at times though. I've gone through whole sections without finding any ammo which then means that I must knife everything and we all know how well that works when it comes to people with axe's and big spears and general zombies period. :(

The G. Launcher with two packs of nitrogen rounds makes Professional mode stupid as ****. Just in case you're having trouble with it.:)

Man, I don't like Capcom's little stunt but at the moment, I am doing very well financially, and 5 bucks is a small price for something that I just want to try out. I still think it's complete bull****, but **** it.

What do you want me to do? Not buy the product so I can please those who can't afford it? I already stated it, what they're doing is garbage. But I won't say no to something I want to try, just so I can fit in with the cool crowd.

I'm sure everyone can afford it, but it's a matter of principle, considering they planned to release DLC even before the game was launched.

How sure are you that everyone can afford it? Not everyone shares the same methods of accessibility. But that's beside the point.

You're making it seem as if spending money in order to satisfy yourself is a no no. Why do you buy games then? I am not defending Capcom, they're full of ****, and this isn't the first time.(See the scandal on the SF4 costumes DLC). I am defending my choice to buy the product because I feel like it, and I stated the reasons as to why in earlier posts. :)

Everyone who owns a 360/PS3 can afford it. After all, they did spend like $300 on a Pro console, probably $60-70 for a 12 month xbox live gold membership, $60-70 for RE5 etc. you get the picture, and they "can't" afford a $5 priced DLC content? o_O

I'm just saying.

You gotta remember alot of those who could afford those consoles and games and memberships had to beg thier parents for some loot and this will be the one when they say "HEY... i just gave you money punk." *SLAP* "Get a job"

But yeah, anyone can afford it and it's not even that big of a deal. Give up one of your McDonalds meals for it and be happy or go blog about how incredibly horrible and evil Capcom is for it. And I stand firmly on the fact that the Street Fighter costume thing is really and truly garbage. Now that is somthing to argue about. A costume, not even a feature, just a costume for 4 or 5 characters in that many sets. Thats ridiculous.

Has anyone gotten the 'deflect arrow with a knife' thing yet? I havnt really tried it yet and wanted to know what was the best/fastest/easiest time to do that one. Alot of times I noticed guys with arrows they also had 5 other guys with explosives on me to.
I was lucky and got the 'Lead Asprin' achievment by blind luck without trying on my first playthrough. Lined up a headshot on a guy behind cover and as soon as I pulled the trigger, someone jumped right across my sights at the perfect angle. Lovely.

I got lead aspirin with Sheva Tribal(with her bow) in Mercs without trying, it just happened. For the bow, I got it on my first try, must've have gotten "lucky."(Hates that word)

Anyway, I just don't understand. Even after you establish the fact that you know the DLC is bull****, you're frowned upon for spending YOUR money for YOUR satisfaction.

Capcom, like any other business, loves people who buy their product. Like I said, I'm not defending their cause, just my decision<_<.

You're looking to get the "be the knife" achievement/trophy right?

Someone might've send you a private message or you may have Youtube'd it already but at least personally one of the better areas to try and get that achievement is at the oil refinery in the marshlands.

in the area where you need to turn the valves to get rid of the flames kill off everyone but one of the archers on the higher platforms and get to a platform level with them and just keep swinging your knife at their direction.

Since you're level with them and not moving they should get a decent shot at you but the handrails can offer protection if you don't time the swing right. Eventually you'll get it without having to risk getting hurt much and land yourself that achievement.
