Especially when there's nothing to compare the skill level to. Sorry, I don't have the time to skim through all the pages for people like XiF, D1, pkm, M2K etc. to accurately base my skill level to. I just use the ol' 5 is average, 10 is pro (pro being the whole professional scene, not just one individual), and 7 is slightly better than average. Makes sense if you ask me.

Thought I was a 9.5 till I found about advanced techs and played people who used them. Then, I was severely humbled to a 3. Now, after reviewing MANY vids of pros, I'd have to say that I'm about a 5. I just got into advanced techs a couple months ago. I have a long way to go. Always room to improve.

Considering the massive amount of fail in self-labeling a score, I would have to concede any serious remark to my own skill level. However, if pressed into a situation where I had to give a number, I would give myself a 7. Why a 7?

10 is the best, I know I'm not there. I would figure Taj is at least an 8 or 9, and I have yet to beat him. 5 I would consider to be your average competitive player. 1-4 is all learning/beginner stages with 5 being your first step into big-boy shoes. 6 is a little beyond that. You've won couple of tournies maybe and you are feeling fine. I think that my extensive knowledge of my character, the match-ups, techs, my placements in tournies and on the PR, in combination with what my ego tells me and what my ambition is aiming for leads me to believe I'm a 7.

Have played competitive for 4 years, played in 2 tournies, met even some people who had played mlg peeps, can do all advanced techniques and use them, around a 6-7. Above a 7 is that you have won tournies pretty much.

Well I should just say that mind games and experience count towards your skill level more than tech skill, so if you've never been to a major tourney, I would say you shouldn't rate yourself above a 5 or 6
