I'm mixed about this song. It's like... so close to being right up my alley, but there are little things that bug me. The vocals are a tad too "hip" for my taste, if that makes sense. Some instrumentation choices (mostly the keyboard part in the chorus) weren't my thing. But I really liked the drum and guitar parts, and as a whole I did enjoy the song. I'll probably check out more of their music.not gonna lie, the effects on the vocals hurt my ears pretty badly at first XD, but overall it isn't bad, the female vocals were pleasant, and the keys were also very nice. The lyrics weren't bad either! 6.5/10

No good youtube videos of the song, hope grooveshark gets the job done.
Great song. Guy has a great voice, and I love all the vocal harmonies. He kinda reminds me of a more professional sounding Brad Nowell. I love the last half and how it slightly changes up. Screamo...not exactly my cup of tea unless it's mixed with singing. I enjoy the guitars and how they have quick stops. I dunno if it's my lack of experience in screamo, or he's just hard to understand. Overall, I think this song is just more show for the guitar play than anything else.Great song. Nice, I found myself bobbing my head almost immediately. A pretty mellow track with enough going on to keep me interested
Not really my favorite genre, but I still enjoyed it. The screaming vocals usually bug me, but they weren't bad in this song...they actually fit pretty well in my opinion.I enjoy the change in direction with the music. Obviously it starts out loud with the screaming, but the quiet moment that follows after a minute is definitely a nice pace change.
I think the screaming goes well in the quiet parts as well. There's definitely periods where you think it's gonna build up to something loud, but goes back to quietness. Definitely feeling this. Not sure if the dialogue bit is part of the actual song, but it does add more emotion to it.

I love how long it takes this song to get going. It is really worth it once the guitar kicks in. Then the chant vocals. The loud clap at the end. I love it all. Very uplifting. I'm going to have to check this band out. Whoever made the video is also brilliant, lol.Not really my favorite genre, but I still enjoyed it. I especially liked the bridge(? lolz I think it's called a bridge) where there are normal vocals, whispered vocals, quiet guitar, and progressing drums. Don't know why, but I like when artists layer stuff like that on record. It just builds up to the scream, that brings it back to the chorus.

Not my thing. Instrumentally, the song doesn't really have much to offer, and vocally it's the same scream -> faux-emotional singing -> scream format that annoys me to no end. I mean, it isn't terrible, just doesn't do it for me.8/10 This is pretty damn good! I like the vocals quite a bit, and though the guitar and drums weren't anything special, they weren't bad by any means. Very catchy!

I found that Music Vid enjoyable to watch. With that being said, focusing on the song was tough the first time around. I think during the verses, his vocals a few times doesn't match the background music. Like he generally picks up his voice when the music gets louder, or if there's a quiet part, he doesn't sing at all...sometimes he kinda messes with that. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not...but it did stand out from the song. Not my thing. Nurses - And Now the Curse of Marjorie

The soundtrack was the only redeeming part of this POS game. Awesome beat. Not a big fan of the flow and delivery this guy has though. The lyrics are typical empty "I'm very awesome and everyone else sucks, oh yeah and I make money". That can work, but here there is not much to make it stand out. In short: good beat, generic rapper.I found that Music Vid enjoyable to watch. With that being said, focusing on the song was tough the first time around. Other then that, I also didn't like the bridge...the song kinda just ended abrubtly...which was okay I suppose. The instruments and vocals were fine though.

i think it may be the attention taken away from Annlouice as the singer. She's soooo good that to accompany her vocally is kind of a step down IMO. That and i believe they show more musical diversity in Butcher's Ballroom. but anywayAlso, their second album is way better than the first.
It's been a looong time, since I've listened to this album. This was definitely one of the better songs on there imo. I won't call him a singer by any means, but his approach was definitely fine (compared to Kanye in Runaway). I figure he could go more than 2 minutes of doing this, given how mellow it is, but I'm also glad he kept it short and sweet. I personally take that his meaning in this song is to get away from life and just live with this said boogie man. A very overall enigmatic atmosphere.^goddamnit, i was gonna post Balrog Boogie after listening to whatever song was posted.
You, sir, have good taste :3
However, I personally don't like their second album as much as the first, and while i love DSO, I think the song you selected is one of those that doesn't help people on the fence be convinced of how good the band really is. The song in and of itself is, admittedly, on the stranger side but with a band name like that, I'm not sure what people are to expect. There's a lot of... noise in this song, but hearing it multiple times relveals how unique these guys are.
Dunno how bias a score this is, but 6.5/10

Mos Def - the Boogie Man Song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzm1BOn-N6Y
I like this kind of music. I love the vocal melody. It's emotional without being too much. The music is fun and sad at the same time. Cool video too.Very nice. The singer kinda gets on my nerves, but he does fit the style of music pretty well. The lyrics are pretty damn creative though. Very nice progressions as well, with decent instrumentation all around. I''ll give it a 8.5/10.

Pretty alright song...at 2:05...is that just the worst vilolin solo ever or am I missing something? I enjoyed it until about half way, then it get really really boring and repetitive. The last vocalist was not my favorite either.Been a while since I've listened to BB. I thought they kinda just disappeared.
Pretty catchy tune and I like how he sings. Though I think a few of his lyrics don't flow out or progress as well. Overall, the lyrics and meaning are pretty generic, and I don't think the divide between screaming and singing is...a smooth one. Sounds like they were overall trying a bit too hard to make this into a single.

Not really feeling this song, but it's also not bad. The vocals are extremely uninteresting. Actually, most of the song is pretty uninteresting. It's fine to listen to. I wouldn't get annoyed if someone was listening to this nearby, but I wouldn't put it on myself. There's nothing too special about it to my ears.Mos Def is really nice to listen too. With this song, great to listen on the road and great to listen in the background. Interesting perspective on the club scene and how we're just lonely and looking for someone.
