I haven't play melee in the longest time ever. Fox is cool to completely own people with, but the button input gives me a head ache. If I ever play melee again, I'd just go back to samus. Marth and Fox are way too good, haha. Watching that adventure mode run was crazy. I forgot how fast melee was, nevermind the crazy fox.

The shocking truth is that run was made 3 years ago and 90% of the stuff you see in there is the gold standard in Fox's metagame today.

If the only changes they are making to Snake is to his Jab x3 and Utilt hits in regards to knockback, that won't change much xD

To anyone that uses Snake, how often do you end up KOing or even landing the 3rd hit of the AAA? Everyone I know is used to Shielding the last hit thus making it useless.

Depending how much knockback of Utilt is taken away could mess Snake up a little.

hmmmm, seems pretty interesting. I'll have to give it a test run later.

What I really want is Melee 2.0 I need to see if any coders are interested in undertaking such a project.

Brawl+ is pretty much like Melee 2.0 in my opinion. Maybe more like 1.5, but it's still close. I've not played it, but a lot of concepts are extremely similiar to melee now. No tripping, increased gravity and hitstun. The whole auto snapping with the ledge was removed making edgeguarding much easier. I believe the window for teching was also made larger as well. The only things they haven't quite changed are l-canceling and wavedashing concepts. Heck, they are even working on bringing Roy back into the series now. Just wait till they get Mewtwo out

yeah it is a bit like 1.5

I kind of want it to be as close to Melee 2.0 as it can possibly be made. The exception would be wavedashing because wavedashing in Brawl was horrible and auto L canceling could possibly stay, so I guess more of a Melee 1.9

The knockback/gravity/hitstun/hitboxes and all the everything would have to be like Melee. It would be cool if they could get characters like Roy to work and get them tied to an individual outfit.

That balanced brawl seems really cool. Too bad it probably won't become the standard. Just like brawl+ never really got that big.

well it's not that rough, but w/e but when you have 2 other tournaments (BlazBlue and Street Fighter 4) happening at the same time, it's gonna be insane

as for the balanced brawl issue, sounds interesting, i'll test it out later on, but really. a community like this, people will shoot down modded brawl in any form

Anyway, this won't bring back the people who left because of Brawl's style.

Almost all of the issues people have with Brawl is not with the characters,
IT'S MOSTLY DUE TO ISSUES THAT STEM FROM THE GAME ENGINE ITSELF.

The engine doesn't lend itself well to offensive or aggresive play unless you are MetaKnight, hence why everyone is STILL whoring him.

Those issues made brawl into a defensive fighting game, which is an oxymoron.

Do-do-do-do!

MK is best played defensively most of the time anyway though XD

Only proving my point of the game being too defensive for it's own good.

In brighter news, modifying hitboxes is fun!
I'll try to post a vid of examples later.

That's true, it'll probably never be the standard. I'm still interested in playing it and maybe bringing it to tourneys to play on the side. I mean I've pretty much accepted brawl for what it is, and I have fun playing the game, so the engine is fine by me, but more character viability sounds interesting.

I've already tried balance brawl. You can only tell the difference if you use a character with a huge change. Like chain grabbers or any of the characters with "game changers."

The smaller changes are only noticeable if you know they happened. Such as some moves doing 3% more damage or something like that.

It's an alright idea, but it's still not ever gonna replace regular brawl. People will probably just play it on the side. Or low tier mainers that are tired of losing so bad. >_>

Also, Ganon becomes awesome. Wizkick is your favorite move.

I would really love it if Sakurai came in and started supporting a project like this. I'd pay 20 bucks for an SSBB fix similar to either B+ or BB and the work is pretty much done... *sigh*

My hunt for either a way to hack the disk or get an SD card w/ reader continues!

Although, you know what these percents do don't you? Those percent changes will alter the priority of some attacks.

I was just thinking of a Snake that had a Ftilt hitbox that was half the size of FD. Or an Uptilt that covered 1/2 FD and went from the ground horizontally to vertical xD

God just killed a kitten for you saying that.

I understand that already. But I still feel the 2 are somewhat simliar in scope by what Brawl+ hopes to achieve.

Smash 64 set a pace that Melee followed upon by adding to what Smash 64 already had. Those concepts where a faster paced game, more characters, SideB and Air Dodging moves included. Plus, a few other things. This makes Melee basically a 2.0 of Smash 64. Brawl kept the same concepts of melee, but dropped a few which resulted in what we have now: the defensive game. The noticable ones were decreased gravity, less hitstun, air dodging changed and L-canceling removed. This made basically an entirely new game play experience not similar to the others.

Even though Brawl+ will not change the airdodging or include the Lcanceling, the other changes will put it closer to the ideas that Melee and Smash 64 had and therefore will make it a beefed up verison of Smash 64 and melee. Thus resulting in what I see as Smash 64 3.0 and melee 2.0.

*reply to first vid- EternalYoshi has crafted Snake into what some foolish mortals call Br0ken

*reply to second vid- I didn't not envision you could do that with Utilt xD
