Sorry if this question doesn't follow the guidelines, but it does say "Pokemon in general", so I want to know if the Mystery Dungeon games are worth getting.

I've heard lots of people say they're repetitive and a waste of money / time, but I thoroughly enjoyed Mystery Dungeon 2. Your mileage will vary. I'd suggest seeing if you could borrow or rent it first.

There's a problem though with the statistics. You absolutely MUST choose the normal starter Pokemon else your stats will become absolute crap. It's better in PMD2, but in PMD1, stuff like Magikarp usually has crap stats even after evolving into Gyarados.

That, and while it can get repetitive, it's pretty fun.

There are also Wondermail generators, which let you get whatever you want. Pretty cool.

Is the first set Blue/Red Rescue team and the second Time/Darkness/Sky? I don't know a whole lot about the line but I'm interested in buying one. Can you play the one of the second ones without playing the first?

Yep. They have no connection to the first. If you're going for the second ones, I recommend going for Sky since it has more stuff.

The only difference between the games is, as always, the Pokemon encountered. With clever mail generators though (mail = missions you can do for whatever), you can obtain most of the Pokemon without restrictions. For example, in Darkness, you can get Buneary, but not Riolu. With mail generators, you can obtain both of them with any version.

Oh, and Mewtwo is found in Darkness, while Celebi is in Time. Don't know about Sky, but Sky does involve Shaymin-S and Giratina-O. Not sure about the Rotom formes.

You might want to get it from a place that will refund you, though. Some people don't find dungeon crawling very exciting. Some of the Pokemon are also ridiculous and some dungeons are just plain silly.

I might try out Blue first, since it's only $10 online from Gamestop and I just got a gift card. If I really like it, I may buy Time or Sky. Thanks for the info. :)

I had PMD2. I thoroughly enjoyed it tbh, I just wish that recruiting pokemon were easy, all the ones that I ever recruit are crappy ones >_>

I think it was a Luxray that I had or something...

Yeah, you need to get their pre-evolved forms first.
**** that. I don't want to wait 50 levels, the amount of levels you more or less gain in the entire campaign, just to evolve my Gabite/Gible to a ****ing Garchomp when I can already get one from a wondermail code

There really isn't much point in getting Time or Darkness of you can get Sky, really. It contains both version exclusive Pokemon plus Giratina-O and Shaymin. Even though there are Wonder Mail generators (I used them a LOT, lol), boosting IQ is a pain since even with eight Wonder Gummis it takes several run throughs in order to max out your IQ. I think those drinks Spinda makes help boost it further, right?

But yeah. The storyline of both are quite good, more so than the mainstream games. I'm always saddened when it's all over, but there's still plenty for you to do afterwards.

Oh right, there's a post-ending storyline as well. The storyline is very good and in Time, I recall the music being enjoyable as well.

I have no idea where to put something that heavily applies to the Poke Center but isn't Pokemon related now.

Help.

Post it here. The purpose of this thread is for questons, as simple as can a Pokemon learn this move to complex things like how to pass on flawless IVs, so as long as it has basis it should go here.

Can the summer Jirachi be flawless, or should I just try and get a good nature for it?
Yes, it CAN be Flawless, as MOST event Pokemon, but the trick is getting it like that.

@my problem/answers
My problem is that it's related to the community, not Pokemon, so under the new rules, I would get an infraction for posting it anywhere (since the Snorlax room is gone) or get an infraction for making a thread about it, it doesn't warrant its own thread either, I just want to make a post. Srsly.

Why exactly does Pure Power exist as an ability alongside Huge Power? Or vice versa, whichever way you look at it. They do the exact same thing - double the Attack stat while not counting as a stat boost, and are given to Medicham (Pure) and Azumarill (Huge). Were two different names needed to apply on two different Pokemon?

Aesthetics?

It's why Clear Body and White Smoke exist, or Air Lock and Cloud Nine.

I understand your examples legitimate different reasons for Clear Body / White Smoke, Legendary possesses the unique Air Lock, etc. but Azumarill and Medicham using two exact abilities, which don't differ in aesthetics at all confuses me. If Medicham's was named like "Mind Power" then I guess that would make more sense.
