What should I do to the OP to make people read it?

Um...pretty colors, maybe? Different colors for the headings, maybe different colors for all of the new features; or maybe just one for all of them. Those might catch people's attention. Other than that...I wish I could tell you, people failing to read plagues me all too often.

To answer both of your questions;

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to disable the ads

The ads thing sorta makes sense; with the old system they were disabled because ads supported the site and by paying for Premium you're supporting the site. With these ads, they're mostly MLG's and we're not directly supporting the site, so it's not really the same thing.

3 name changes in a month (confuse your friends who you are!)
Custom title (it makes you look sooooo cool)
The Return of Reputation (judge people, and become a hypocrite!)
A new and distinct usergroup color (sooo much cooler than a custom title)
Access to the Premium VIP Lounge (talk about REALLY cool things. Privately!)
An @smashboards.com e-mail address (makes you look like a business man!)
Change up to 10 people's user color for 30 days to a color to be chosen later [Cannot be done to Staff] (make april fools day every day!)
Embed videos (Rick Roll people at any time! Or even better, post random videos in the wrong room alot!)
REASONABLE Suggestions are welcomed! (make insane suggestions, and watch them get shot down!)
Bigger PM Inbox (you know you need it)

Despite the ironic tone, he does make sense.

3 name changes A MONTH is excessive and will cause a lot of unnecessary confusion IMO. I'd invert it to one name change every 3 or 2 months.
Same with the color change...people giving out color changes to people will create disorder and will break the uniformity the boards have. Perhaps it can be solved by creating a new usergroup such as "Premium Partner" where a premium member chooses someone and therefore giving him/her the "Premium Partner"'s group color.

I don't know, I'm just suggesting. The other features are great though.

I don't think I like the idea of:
Embedding Videos
Animated Avatars
Custom Username Colors
Reputation System

While I like the idea of name changes (though three a month seems kind of excessive), exclusive viewing styles and custom titles, I think that embedding videos, animated avatars and custom colors is too gimmicky.

But I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that the Reputation system doesn't come back; I can't shake the feeling that it would open the door to let newer members create topics like "PLUS+ Rep mE an ILL Rep U Bak!!1"

Overall, I think Premium memberships are a good idea to bring back, especially if they'd help the community. I just hope that it'd be done in a way to keep the boards classy and clean.

Normal people won't need 3 name changes per month, and again if you pay for premium membership you don't have to use everything you get (though if you want to be efficient with your money you might as well make the most of what you have). I don't know what you mean about animated avatars but embedding videos is not a problem in any way imaginable.

Do that and here's what would (should, but it will thanks to our lovely staffs, and Maxfire won't allow it <3) happen:

1. Smart people will rep you down for making such a stupid topic.
2. Since not everybody will be having PM, you will look like some begger to PMs and non PMs alike.
3. You will be punished by said staffs.

There is nothing wrong with the rep system.

Too bad the rep system will only be available to PMs though.

While it may seem like a good thing, it ended up being abused to the point of being a truely worthless feature that just took up space. Everyone ended up +repping people, with the message 'rep for rep! ~*username*' attached.

Unless they take out the message part of rep, people will ***** it and ruin it.

Also, you guys get ads? Really? I have never gotten one popup from SWF, nor have I seen any adds here.

If you have the Revolution skin on then you get a landfill of ads at the top of the page.

I personally use Classic Blue so it doesn't really matter for me.

Well, I think rep should be monitored. But that'd be a pain in the ***. Acutally + or - rep for something said said, helpful, or even a good idea. Or minus rep for stupidity in general, trolling, or spamming. It'd be cool, if people would actually use it, and not abuse it.

I've been on other sites with successful rep systems, they had a person monitor them though. And it wasn't a monstrous site though.

I'd do this, sounds worth it to me.

For the rep system, I think Vyse's idea was pretty good. Incase you don't want to go back, his idea was only positive points can be added, and negative points could be given by mods and other special members. That way I think you would have some control over the whole thing.

I don't think anyone ever gave me -rep. People would just say '+rep me!' I don't recall there ever being a problem with 'bullying' through rep. Foxpower+ aside.

the rep days were the dark ages. I only got the very end of them, but believe me when I tell you that it was completely useless when it was around during my time on SWF.

Still, I don't think that it's really that hard just to ask a S-mod to have your title change =/
