Stage striking. That's what we've been doing at our bi-weeklies, unless we've been doing it wrong lol.

You worded it wrong.

Stage striking - For the 1st match each player can strike a stage from the list of neutral stages until 1 is left then that is played on. After the 1st match each player gets a ban weather its a neutral or counter pick.

I worded it right, but I didn't include any info about the first match. Sorry about that.

The rules are:

For the first round of each set, both players strike stages one by one from the neutral stage list until there is one stage left. They then play on that stage.

For the second round, loser picks stage or goes random, winner picks character, loser picks character.

In the event of a third round, loser picks stage or goes random, winner picks character, loser picks character.

The last stage you won on cannot be picked by you.

I've never seen a tournament do that before. O_O
I hope its not at Pound 4.
It started in TX I think? Then made its way around the nation.......MD/VA does it but we still go by the regular bans if your opponent wants to do it the old fashion way. :chuckle: or they just don't know the rules

Nope.

example: player 1 plays Jiggs. player 2 plays Sheik.
player 1 has slot priority so he strikes the first stage. he strikes YS
now it's player 2s turn. he strikes DL64
now it's player 2s turn again, he strikes FD
now it's player 1s turn again. he strikes Battlefield

so since PS isn't a neutral anymore they play on FoD.

OK so if this is correct, that's what is different.
Over here, P1 strikes one stage, P2 strikes two stages, P1 strikes one stage.
No slot priorities. If you can't decide otherwise, use rock-paper-scissors.

So if this is the official rules, then why is this not updated on the actual rules? And why is'nt it announced or what not? I'm fairly sure most people will play with the traditional ruleset and not know about this new stage striking stuff
