also, seagull i REALLY dont think that wolf recovers against mk better than peach. this is mainly because practically every peach that i ever see recovers incorrectly, and because i personally never get gimped by mk (i do take some damage off the edge, but what char doesnt?). i dont know that wolf has a particularly hard time or anything, i just think peach has a really easy time compared to the vast majority of the cast (since she has a superior horizontal recovery to most chars).

wolf is really good though, he would be high tier imo without ddd in the game. his bad matchups have little to do with the character he's playing, and have everything to do with getting gayed over.

Wolf has a really easy time getting back to the stage. His recovery back on stage is more similar to Falco and Fox, but he can go through the stage with scarring and be unscathed why they cannot. Wolf mains rarely have to take damage at all though and we aren't forced to grab the edge because regularly we can scar through the stage.

I dunno about Peach recovering vs Mk. I think when I verse SSR, I usually can't gimp him too easily with my Mk. So probably Peach's that have played ALOT of Mk experience learned the correct way to recover I imagine.

Also, are you coming to pound 5? We still need to verse:awesome:.

I've got 5th out of 14 at The GP Affairs Episode 2



I've got first in pools again. I went up against Hadesblade and I'm quickly getting used to the matchup now (at least against him). Side-B'ing off the ledge is killer. Now if I could just stop throwing random attacks out I'll be straight <3. A new problem rose for me in the name of Dedede. (Fizzles Dedede nontheless) My main problem is his bair; It's difficult trying to get around it since it's a wall of priority. I'll have a video up showing what I mean soon. I also lost a set to Scribbles MK but whatever, it's MK.

Yeah Fizzle knows the Peach matchup pretty well with any of his characters, plus he's good in general, sorry man... xD

DJskribs is one of the more legit MKs around the MW. I lost to him in tournament once I believe, but it was one of those sets I feel could have gone either way and he outplayed me. It wasn't that icky, dissatisfied feeling I get if I lose to either a gimmick or a player whom I've already established that I am better than on numerous occasions.

But enough about me lol; I'll be glad to help you out a bit with DDD if I remember to at SiiS4. Nicole is also quite familiar with the matchup from playing Tmacc.

D3 isn't really too bad at all, after playing Tyser for 10 hours strait and then comin home and playin against my crewmate who also mains D3 im pretty sure that im not gonna lose to a D3 anytime soon.

also i know nobody knows who tyser is, but i assure you he's the master of mindgames/reading people and its always ghey tryin to beat that kid lol.

@rowan:
ddd's 45:55 at worst. i think its about even though.

you need to always be where he isnt - positioning is really important in this MU. if he's in the air, be on the ground, and throw turnips up at him. if he's on the ground, be in the air and pressure his shield, but make sure you dont stay on him cause he can do stuff OOS. if he's just shorthopping bairs, react accordingly - dont challenge his bair, just punish him with fullhop dair, fsmash, shield + dash attack, etc. etc.

if he throws waddles its a free grab (ps the waddle and run up to him and grab him) or dash attack. he will airdodge to the ground sometimes (his options for getting down are kinda limited), so always punish that with a groundfloat bair or nair. he will also use dair to get back - dont ever be directly under him, if he uses dair you can always punish it if you're just a little to the side (which is also a fine place to be if he chooses to airdodge) - - unless you are going to use utilt. he will also fastfall bairs when he comes down or inhale coming down. these are harder to punish but he cannot get predictable - he has to change up his options.

usmash him when you can, he's a big target that likes to be in the air and his horizontal movement in the air is ridiculously slow. try to hit him and damage him when he is offstage trying to get back, but dont get too close to him and DONT DROP YOUR FLOAT - he can ddd-cide you and if you arent floating while he inhales you'll get sucked in. if you have a turnip in your hand he'll be much more wary of inhaling cause you can throw the turnip into his mouth. when you're offstage he can hurt you but he shouldnt be able to gimp you - if you can recover against MK theres no way you should get gimped by ddd. peach bomber is not viable against him though (for recovery purposes, at least). just recover low with umbrella, and watch for him to be at 100+ percent, he can edgehog easily because he gets up sooooo slowly.

he shouldnt land any kill moves on you very easily. bair should be too stale and utilt is quite hard to hit with (watch for stupid tricks like roll-behind utilt, esp. if youre floating). watch for fairs - they will go through your dair and fair hurts alot and kills early. watch for dsmashes too.

thats my take, anyways, i think i know the MU fairly well and i've gotten a lot better at it lately.

skribz is very good, one of the only mks in the MW that really gives me trouble. he's quite good at keeping peach out. i wouldnt feel bad about losing to him (but i think i'll beat him next time we meet again).

Ok so I have an idea for the formatting of this thread I wanted to throw out

What do people think of changing it so that the results are listed monthly?

I used to like it being in alphabetical order of players but now it's just very difficult to look at and find recent results

Starting 2011 (wow that sounds weird) I was wondering if maybe you should archive the old results in a collapse tab or something and then start afresh. The Diddy or Sonic tourney results thread is a good example

It seems like you've done a really good job purging the thread of all very outdated results Kyon but tbh, I think even the 09 results could archived off somewhere

I'm suggesting this because there's been a lot of 'Peach hate' going on recently about her tier list position and her tourney results. Whilst we obviously want to give the Peach who got the result credit, I think the placement needs to be made more obvious than the person when people are looking at this thread and not the other way round without wanting to sound rude

I don't want her to move down on the tier list but it needs to be proved that her results aren't as bad as everyone is making out and I think making this look a bit more organized would help


...of course, better results would also help ;)

lol it's almost fourteen hours since I said I was gonna post some stuff.

Anyway I got 17th out of 47 at Holy Smash Leviticus: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=293937

I know some of you saw the thread already, but check it again. I updated the OP with muuch more specific data.

I kinda wanted to get at least 13th, but hey I felt I didn't do too bad really. I only lost to PR level players. I have my sets with Seibrik and RedHalberd saved along with like a ton of other videos I'm supposed to record this week lol. I didn't get ***** too bad against those two. I got Halberd down to last stock in second game.(can't remember if I did the same to Seibrik)

I feel a whole lot more comfortable against Meta on Lylat and Yoshis. I dunno maybe I'm weird. I did better against them on YI than Lylat though. GDX though.. Kyon you need to tell me how to play him >.> . Second time I lose to him in tournament lol. The man was playing on point that day. Aside from the tournament I ***** people in friendlies like I usually do(Mostly for practice and to widen my MU/player style knowledge).

I really need to practice around with the PR players more though. They are the ones I lose to in tournaments really. I know this has been said plenty of times before, but I'll do my best to step it up from here. After months of attending stuff I tok this one seriously and didn't do too bad. I'll try to get into practice sessions SFL likes to hold.

this will be like my one tourney under my name for this year lol. I'm too lazy with sending in my results. New years resolution is get more stuff for this place~

hmm i've neva gotten top 5 outside of small house tourneys and free tourneys and anime expo this summer haha.

it's all good though, my region is beast, and i'm getting beast. pound shall be glorious.

It's just a list XD If they want to drop her because she hasn't had any WOW placings then so be it, /care. Most Peaches pretty much seemed to have more consistent 5th-7th placings (the reason why she was quite high in the Tournament Results Thread) instead of creating major upsets and getting first here and there. The latter one is the only that counts apparently.

All I know is that Peach is a good character with good tools, some list, especially one that now seems to put more emphasis on placings that change by everyday rather than one that just looks which characters has the right tools, won't really change my mind. The tier list can put her in Low Tier, I wouldn't mind, only means winning LT tournies to us!

i had, at least just from what i can remember 5 top 5 placings in 09, and i certainly participated in more than 1 tourney lol. ok from THIS MOMENT on i will actually post my tourney results and stop being the weird mysterious guy who nobody knows of...except like...2 of u peaches....

That's one of the changes in rulesets btw. Kyon wants the new minimum to at least be 13.
