Alright, so at first I didn't believe it but now I'm hearing it from multiple sources.

Various people and people who work at Play and Trade have told me there's going to be an expansion pack for Brawl. I didn't want to make a new topic, but this seemed the most appropriate.

There was some scrub tournament at a PnT going on so my friends and I wanted to go **** it. There weren't enough people for a tournament but the guy said, before hanging up, "When the expansion pack comes out we'll have a ton more tournaments." and I was just like wtf ._.

Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Why a single sword though? Ganon (as ganondorf) has used dual swords twice, a trident, and a single sword once. And as Ganon he used the trident (i believe three more times) and magic. Pre- OoT he never even used a sword. Ganondorf doesn't need a sword because historically, as a character, he hardly ever weilded one. If anything his "second moveset" should be with a trident.
When did I ever say to give him a sword? Personally, I want to see him with a trident.

trident Ganon would be fine, but very few people seem to like the Trident Idea. Mostly, i believe, because most Zelda fans who are also Smash fans (let's face it are also young) never really played before OoT, that being thier first. And since OoT he has yet to use a trident (except in remakes) so they either don;t recognize it or simply think it would be way cooler if he used the sword from Twilight Princess (Which was a very easy fight, and a mediocre gam eoverall).

EDIT: Sorry for misinterpreting your suggestion, like I said, most times people sugges the use a sword, which is what I am more against.

I'm not really crazy about giving Ganondorf a weapon. I'd really rather see him use some magicy stuff. Because, seriously, he's got too many weapons to pick one. If he were to get a weapon, I would prefer the trident, but w/e.

Big thank you to Xyro for clearing up the Expansion Pack bit.

The only problem with giving him magic is that magic is [usually] ranged and would make him rediculously broken of a characters, while making him have close range magic attacks that behave basically the same in function would be a waste of time and energy better spent elsewhere with another character.

I just meant for the Specials. I've finally decided that I really just want to see G-dorf get a new B, Up-B, and Down-B. Those attacks suck so badly (Well, maybe not Down-B) that almost anythiing would be an improvement. You're forgetting that since Ganondorf is so bad, giving him a few really good attacks would probably not result in him being broken.

I wouldn't mind giving him a new B and maybe a Up-B special, but any form of ranged attack would undoubtably break him. And those who can use him well, are very good, so he;s not bad...he's just got a massive learning curve

Ummm.....He's bad. I've no doubt that there are some very capable Ganondorf mains, but he's still a bad character. He ranks 35 out of 36 on the character rankings list, and last on the tier list. And most casuals think he sucks, too. Having a projectile would not necessarily break him. He's in need of a good buffing.

The reflect ball probably wouldn't break him, since you can just reflect it back at him...and then he'll reflect it back at you....and then you'll reflect it back at him...

Really though, I don't think a ranged attack would break him all too much. He probably couldn't spam it, and odds are he probably wouldn't be allowed to KO with it either.

Also, the trident idea works a whole lot better than the single sword idea. Personally, I don't think him having two swords would really work out all that well, with the grabbing of ledges, and the grabbing of items, and the grabbing of other characters, but who knows. Still, the trident is the weapon he uses most of the time, or at least the weapon Ganon uses most of the time.

Fine...He's bad, but his moveset is [mostly] the same as Melee, in which he is very high (High teir as I recall) and he went down because was ***** by lag and the physics. An adjustment to his lag is all he needs. Of course I seem to be the only one against a projectile of any kind so...I'll settle with a Reflector ball...

I say no trident, plus can anybody clarify what game(s) he used it in as Ganondorf? Because as far as I know he only used it when he was freakishly huge and was Gannon. I'd rather him just get a touch up and a couple of magic moves.

The reflect ball is iffy cuz whats the point if it just gets hit back at you? The reason that was in the game was so you could kill him.......I'm not sure if they're the same thing but the energy ball he uses on Young Link when they first meet and Ganondorf's on his horse. Unreflectable but NOT a Shadow Ball.

And I've said it all ready (and I can see I have no supporters) that Toon Ganondorf could fill the Ganondorf w/ sword (two actually) and we could keep our lovable Ganondorf w/ touch-ups.

It's not just lag and physics. It's also specific changes to Ganondorf. I really think the Reflector Ball would make a good Neutral B. No-one uses Warlock Punch anyway.

Moving on, what do people think about spin-offs? By spin-offs, I mean thing like the Nintendo vs. Capcom idea that's constantly kicked around by fans.

Personally, I would love to see Nintendo vs. Marvel. Mostly for the match-ups.
Venom vs. Bowser?
Iron Man vs. Samus?
Wolverine vs. Kirby?
Sheer win.

He used a trident only as Ganon, but he only appeared as Ganondorf 3 times. Dual swords twice, and One sword once. I would prefer a Toon Ganon over any changes to Regular Ganon, but I don't see how a dual weilding character could be implemented without being massivly awkward

In OoT, I don't think Ganondorf used any weapon at all until he became his beast form which had two swords. In WW he had two swords, though there were much smaller. Finally in TP, he had a sage's sword. None of his swords have actually been used for more than one game. In cocntrast, his trident (which I will admit has only been used in his beast form) shows up with pretty much all of the beast form's incarnations, bar Twilight Princess where Ganon turned into a real four legged beast. In all his other non Ganondorf apperances though, Ganon has been completely humanoid, so a trident still isn't out of the question. Heck, Ganon is probably more human like than Bowser is anways. =/

Also, the reflect ball could then be reflected by Ganon again. One a opponent reflects it, that doesn't mean it can't be reflected again. What would be nice though is if regular reflection moves, such as Fox's down special, didn't actually work on it. :p

Actually I use it to beat up some stupid Lv. 9 Fox :chuckle:

as for spin-offs......eh......I'd rather see some more Nintendo related spin-offs like something I saw somewhere a long time ago about a Super Smash Bros. Kart or something like that, and a SSB Mario vs. Sonic (hey there have already been sport games) SSB Strikers could be interesting.......just throwin that out there cuz I definitely don't want Nintendo VS Marvel

And the Ganondorf thing, TG could work, doesn't Pit sometimes dual wield and pick up items? (can't remember....) I still don't like the idea of the reflector ball cuz it could pretty easily kill Ganondorf cuz he's so slow and can't hit it back w/ that back hand like in OoT.......Phantom Gannon could be a boss (one of the only recurring enemies/mid-bosses) and use it.

To clear up this "brawl expansion" watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHuJyFjeEbY

the video and the idea of "expansion" is 100% fake. Please dont buy into some guy saying he knows something the rest of us dont. Xyro knows best
I can't belive someone made that video looks so good and it's a fake, lol. I guess next Smash Bros should be called Super Smash Bros Explosion after looking at that. O_o

Yea good call on the OoT swords, My mistake. Pit dual wields when he smashes, which cannot be done while holding weapons...Though i suppose, being an all powerful wizard, we coudl always bring back Mewtwo's levatation item hold, so his hands aren't tided up.

As for some spin-off's. I want a Marvel Vs. Smash, just because i enjoy Marvel.

A kart would be cool, and they're not too hard to make well (I've never seen a bad attempt) though I would prefer a simpler science than the way Mario Kart has been going. (One kart per charcter)

Yeah, that would be cool for the levitate thing but if Mewtwo ever comes back that's one of the things I liked about him and don't want him to become "un-unique". I feel really stupid because I just found out Gannon is spelled Ganon when I thought I was spelling it wrong when I said Ganon. :(

The Kart thing could work though,

Mario: well I guess all the Mario Kart characters could get their Karts from there, with the exception of Wario.

Link: Epona, Ganondorf: His Horse (name???), Zelda: ummmm her horse?, Toon Link: King of Red Lions? w/ wind underneath him?

well you get it.

Pikachu needs a better Final Smash. That's obvious. I think most characters need better Final Smashes, but Pikachu desperately needs a revamp. He should've had a real Volt Tackle, where he darts across the screen like Marth, then goes into a VT cutscene like Cpt. Falcon. Not that stupid blue ball.

...Super Smash Brothers Throwdown?

You do realize that him dashing was only in the anime, right? NO CUT SCENES! Besides his Final Smash is fine. C.Falcon needs to just do the same thing but when he jumps in Blue Falcon he comes back around on the same screen and hits the person just the same.

Now Toon Link, he needs a new FS. I have one that involves the Four Sword but I don't want to post it again.

Let's see who else needs one.........and Super Smash Bros. Combat or SSB somethin but not Throwdown

Agreed on the Volt Tackle.

I would rather see a flood related Toon Link FS (But i know you enjoy 4 swords so...either way is fine...or...combination of the two....hmmm)

I love WW too so either is good, just as long as it's not Linbeck or Train related

If TL gets a Modified moveset He should PROBABLY have the Fire Rod cuz I can't think of anything from WW......besides the Hammer....but that would probably be the Magic Hammer

It looked real good until they started showing a bunch of textures made by people I know. Then it became obvious (to me).

Imo, Toon Link's FS should involve utilizing the Wind Waker baton in some way.
Yeah, my Four Sword idea was that a little circle appeared around TL (same range as Triforce Slash) and A different colored TL appears and does damage like TS.......

WW Smash would be a cyclone I guess, but that's already in a stage sooo.............

I vote Four Sword over Wind Waker. I'd like to see three level 8 Toon Links (W/one stock and a timer) appear to help you out when you got a FS.

Super Smash Brothers DS

Nintendo should make a smash brother game on the ds. It will have the O12 and 4 new fighters. The game would be like the N64 version but it will have some extras like Ness, Captain Falcon, and the 4 new fighters will have there own stage. Plus there will be wifi and tournament mode will be an option in wifi mode. Characters will have 2 kinds of final smashes to choose the first press B up or to choose the 2nd one press B down. Another new feature is the smash store. You can buy new outfits for a character. Not just color swaps but new outfits all together. Oh, and there could be a mini game mode too.

Fighters *easy to unlock **hard to unlock
Mario
Donkey Kong
Link
Samus
Yoshi
Kirby
Fox
Pikachu
Luigi*
Jigglypuff*
Captain Falcon**
Ness**
Starfy*
Issac**
Little Mac**
Pacman*

Stages (when you unlock Ness, Captain Falcon or the 4 new fighters you will be able to buy there stage at the smash store.
Peach's Castle
Congo Jungle
Hyrule Castle
Planet Zebes
Yoshi's Island
Dream Land
Sector Z
Saffron City
Fire Field (2500 coins)
Twoson (2000 coins)
Pufftop Palace (3500 coins)
Vale (5000 coins)
Boxing Ring (8000 coins)
Retro Maze (9999 coins)
Mushroom Kingdom (Beat game with all default characters)
Battle Field (Beat the Game once)
Final Destination (Beat Game with all characters)

Mini Games
Target Test
Board the Platforms
Race to the Finish
Home Run Contest
Multi man Melee
Kart Racing

Oh yeah! Bring bonus back and Event mode too.

What do you guys think?

@PM Master

It's a FS. It's supposed to be broken.
Not THAT broken, I mean, Triforce Slash and Blue Falcon combined aren't that broken imo.

@ the DS thing, If they made it like that there would be no Third Party characters.
I don't know some of the stages (which one's Isaac's?)

I agree though Kart Racing could be a Mini-Game instead of its own VG Spin-Off...

No Pac-Man, please. He's.....rather failish. I would put Bowser in instead.

EDIT: @PM Master

Howzabout the CPU Level could be 6. That's impossible to consider broken.

Eh. I would prefer that, if Nintendo puts any new characters in a Smash DS, it should be ones that were intended for previous installments of the series but got cut (this also means that Mewtwo, Roy, and maybe even other cut Melee characters can come back). I mean, I think they should save bigger stuff (like Little Mac) for the console-based series, if you get what I mean.
