I don't really agree with that, you have to understand why a matchup is made a certain way.. which means you have know every situation possible to actually gain the advantage in that matchup, if you don't then you'll probably get defeated just because you didn't know certain things.

I never thought I'd agree with cage, but this is actually how I feel.

I don't like the ratios being described as win ratios. If you have a solid advantage you are not going to win only like 65% of the time rofl, unless you are HELLA inconsistent. Win results in this game are not that inconsistent/luck based.

Harder a MU is, the less effective the by-the-book strategy is, and the more you need to 'outplay' them by picking apart habits, exploiting their lack of knowledge, using gimmicks, making riskier high-reward plays, etc.

ok soi am up to my 1500 post on the boards, and i thought to myself how should i use this post? for something dumb but then i went noooooo (way more o's but stopping here for speeding tings up). As anyone reading this thread knows I have been pushing for new character MU threads to update the old ones b/c many of them are woefully out of date. So i decided to use my 1500 post to hopefully help get that project moving.

So my question is how do I go about getting other smashers on board for this. should i go to each character board and make a thread about this (i feel like this might be against forum rules)? Or should i try to PM people (but i wouldn't know who to PM for every character like idk what players visit smashboards often or even read their pm's so thats a issue)? or should i make a post about it in melee general discussion and hope people dont just pass over it. Or maybe all three (but that seems like over doing it). So any suggestion how to go about this? (right now i am leaning towards making a thread on every character board that explains how I see this going down).

I'm sorry if I was disrespectful to the many players that were there that are far better than me.

But a lot of really good players were missing. WC (besides mango), canada (besides kage), midwest, most of the south...

Hmm leffen's yoshi is pretty good. However just from watching a mediocre falco who clearly doesn't know the match-up at all go even with supposedly the best yoshi in the world... I think i know where yoshi goes on my tier list

Nah, Pepito is fairly good. He was shining in odd places, and not grabbing enough, but he is definitely a legit Falco.

Leffen's performance indicates that... Yoshi is a low tier with a few cute gimmicks that let him hang with the big boys as long as they don't abuse his crippling flaws like his bad approaching game, bad recovery, bad shield and general lack of options compared to top and high tiers.

Leffen your Yoshi, is indeed getting very nice... Im glad to see you've decided to use some combos of mine, you felt wasn't good, (at the time) but I can tell, you've found it's uses for them... I see so much/many of my playstyle/combos coming into your game.. Im humbled/honored...

Pepito is extremely good (one of the better Falcos in Europe), and according to leffen he knows the Yoshi matchup very well.
