Ness is...sort of slightly harder to edge guard than I thought. But I'm attributing this mostly to me being bad. His fair is actually a legitimate "anti-air" (then again, I could just be bad). I'm sort of willing to admit that I underestimated him too far.

No Ness' fair is so boss in P:M. You can link two of them pretty easily as well. And side-b F-smash is great. DJC tricks, stellar throws, I ****ing love Ness.

besides, what's so good about a list that doesn't change? the metagame changes and so should the tier list. like, i don't think puff is third anymore...
I've not seen anything that would warrant me to change it. People's lists on here are fickle, they perceive metagame progression as a consistent trend/change in the performance of the very top echelon of players, when the actual deciding factor there is....skill of the player. It's why people jumped on the "Flacoz so broken" train after Dr PeePee improved exponentially, and it's why people are now saying potentially "Peach>Marth", because Armada is the best player in the world.

EDIT: Obviously I'm not saying the top level of play isn't relevant to tier discussion, just that there's a lot of confounding factors to consider with such a relatively narrow player base.

ICs have a whole bunch of problems falcon doesn't. Then again, this is coming from a fox player, maybe a marth or sheik player would think differently

Mango was great with puff, hbox is great with puff, armada has to use a counterpick against puff...

If your tier list has not changed after all of the new techniques getting discovered/fleshed out and with such a huge change in the stagelist you are doin it wrong

Armada has no coutner for HBox's puff. not everybody is HBox and puff has a lot of weird match ups of which you'd think the third best character would be able to win easily. She's damn good but her speed, weight, and lack of projectiles can be used against her.

the same can be said about falcon though. ic's don't have to deal with a lot of the things that he has trouble with.

they have a diff set of problems... but they are similar in that they have an uphill battle vs some top tiers

falcon needs to be super on point vs fox, falco, and sheik

ic's have a major struggle with peach and fox

What problems does falcon have that ICs don't? ICs have a worse time OoS. Falcon doesn't get platform camped. Falcon converts 1 hit into 1 stock more efficiently. Falcon doesn't get hit once and play monkey in the middle with half of his character for the rest of the stock.

Again, this is coming from someone who plays against both characters as fox. Is it possible that is skewing my point of view?

it could be. ic's has a pretty bad 40:60 or 35:65 matchup vs fox.

ic's have good matchups with puff and sheik, even with falco and marth. their strengths in these matchups are very specific but i think overall they are able to set up a really solid and scary defense that these characters have to respect. they can do things falcon cant do, like projectile camp/wall, and their grab combos are arguably more devastating than his.

falcon is good for sure, but most people are just unaware of what ic's can do in their high tier matchups because it's not seen as often.

they are really really nasty to falco lol

fox whoops ic's because he can do whatever he wants to them. platform camp, or just go in and shine to separate, and get easy separation and gimps. but he is the only character that can do it that easily.

Gentlemen, we need to all come to the agreement that results do not matter in a tier list argument.

I mean, if we just stopped and looked at Marth as a character by himself, we'd realize that this really is the best character in the game, to the point where he's almost egregiously overpowered.

His sword is long, so his spacing and mingames r 2 gud.

Fox
Marth
Falco
Jiggs
Sheik
Peach
Falcon
ICs

I may even so inclined to say that Jiggs and Falco are even.
Fox and Falco have no bad matchups, and they win their matchups harder

Sheik's only bad matchups are like, space animals (Falco is arguably even).... and KINDA ICs just cuz Sheiks are bad against ICs

id say that falco has terrible distance and mediocre options...maybe the distance itself isn't terrible but combining it with his fast falling attribute it is

Marth 1st; flaco 5th, i play melee and what is this
i believe that a marth with perfect spacing can beat anyone. i put falco fifth cause once people can powersheild consistently i think he'll be a glorified falcon. and i think peach has more potential than even armada has tapped into. and i think puff is over rated
