It helps you keep better aerial momentum and stuff when doing like running bairs for example

moonwalking: when you dash and start holding the other direction, the game wants to move you in that direction. But you don't DD unless the control stick passes thru the center position. So basically you are trying to run the other way, but are stuck in your dash animation, thus you run backwards.

I used to use the C-stick for everything, now it's really just for dair, because I don't FF it half the time. I find when you first start FF'ing your aerials, it's easier to use the C-stick, just because you only have to use one input with the control stick instead of two during a standard shffl. Throw in non c-stick'd aerial and a regular AI, plus a fast fall, it's a little much to handle without a decent amount of practice.

I normally play bad but sometimes play good.

how do I start playing good all the time?
The most important part of being consistent is practice.

You know this.

But, if you do find yourself playing badly, you need to recognize what is causing you to play badly, and fix it. If you're timing is off on your jumps out of shine, you're missing wavelands/dashes, or any other technical error, break it down into what is wrong with your inputs. Slow it down, then speed it back up.

If you're losing to people you don't think you should be losing to, break that down. Why are you getting hit, are you approaching predictably, what are they doing to give you %.

On a good day these things will come some what naturally, but on your bad days you may have to think about them.

I'm looking for a good video or videos to showcase the differences between melee and brawl. melee being fast-paced, more combos, and such; brawl being more slow-paced and campy and such. Yes I'm biased, and I'm really looking for biased material in all honesty, but either way, if you've got anything in mind that'd be great.

I know its kinda late since but I'm really interested in joining competitive smash and I have been basically since the game came out when I was like nine. Anyway, if we post videos of us playing in general, is it possible for people to critique it and tell me what I'm doing wrong or what I should do and whatnot?

That would be fine, preferably though you would want to post the video's in the character specific forum, of the character you wish to be critiqued. The people in those forums are probably going to be able to offer you better advice than posting here ;p

The character specific section can be found here:

^ I'm pretty sure it originated in "traditional" 2D fighting game communities

I can't give specifics though

How can I get better at moonwalking with spacies?

I can get the full momentum from a standing moonwalk with Falcon. I know with spacies, you have to walk in the direction you wish to moonwalk in, first. Then you do a standard moonwalk nike-swish. Half the time, they'll stay in place. The rest of the time, they'll travel a little bit backwards. I can't get the full momentum no matter what though.

Do I need to just do it faster? Is there a trick to doing it with spacies? *crosses fingers*

Unfortunately there is no trick.

Do it fast, and make sure your ending direction is 100% horizontal or a little above, and make this all happen fast.

Player wise? Is it Zhu again?
Obviously this isn't something that lends itself to judging very easily, but in your opinion?

Link's DD is a joke.

I have a question. What is the usual procedure in tournament for when a match is lost due to a cube malfunction or power cord problem or something? Does it depend on the score in the match at all?

Its for practicing L cancel timing due to shield hit lag with an aerial (either fast falled or not)

You can also play against two humans at the same time so you don't have to wait for one's shield to recover. Try getting the humans against a wall on a non-tourny legal stage so they don't slide off
