On-topic: D3 doesn't lose to anyone below his tier, and doesn't get super-bodied by *everyone* in top tier like everyone likes to assume. Having to play patient and approach almost all the time is stressful and not preferred, but doesn't automatically make a character horribly lose a MU. I can't see him ever dropping lower than he is now.

@ D3 stuff: I think aside from MK/ICs/Oli his MUs are at worst -1, so more like bodied by 1/3rd. Which is why he's in high tier and not top tier

I believe John12346 is still pretty active, last time I checked, but then again, he isn't exactly the best Lucario to look at when it comes to results. Our region in NY is pretty stacked with top players.

Actually, John12346 does have some pretty decent, fairly recent results. At Impact, he directly took out Coontail's PT, Minty's Marth, and NinjaLink's Diddy to face off (and lose) against Dabuz in the GF's. At Impact II, he took out Coontail again. At Impact III, he took out Nuke's Diddy and Deven's Kirby. Decent-ish, I guess. Most impressive ones were the first Impact's results really...

Funnily enough, if you play Kirby: RtD, during the final flying cutscene where nearly everyone gets hit and DDD and Waddle fall down, if you pay close attention (I made quite sure to and I pointed it out to John, Baconator, and Jam while we were playing), you'll notice that MK never gets hit. Not only that, he is protecting Kirby! From that one scene, we were able to deduce that MK is the most important char in the game.

I like Kirby chars. I always have. In Melee, one of my low tier mains is Kirby. Before Brawl came out, I'd already established that the bad-*** looking MK would definitely be my main. So many people hate on me for that, but I always point out that MK and I were together since before the beginning of all this nonsense. However, the URC was banning him and all that, so I jumped to DDD. I've been with the big, fat penguin ever since. I have Marth and G&W as secondaries for MU coverage. DDD/Marth is a very solid competitive core and G&W beats Pika and a lot of DDD's even MUs (also does better in his bad ones).

I've had like 6 mains. Fox/Sonic/Luigi/Ice Climbers/Meta Knight/Lucas.

Fox - I played Fox in 64.
Sonic - I grew up playing Sonic as a child.
Luigi - Luigi is my favorite Nintendo character.
Ice Climbers - I like the subtle desynch techniques and CGs are fun.
Meta Knight - I wanted to win.
Lucas - Very obviously gave up on winning. Lucas is flashy and technical and me likes that.

Also, I feel like D3 does better against Diddy than Falco. Waddles are good for limiting Diddy's banana game on the ground and if D3 air camps, it forces Diddy to throw his bananas in the air or jump after you. Inhale harassment can hinder that stupid Monkey Flip, Bair beats out and trades with alot of Diddy's offense, Diddy is kinda f'd offstage against D3, because of his fairly gimpable recovery and D3's Bair/Fair/Inhale being a pain. Most importantly, D3 can CG Diddy and put him offstage, the very spot he doesn't want to be.

I play sonic because hes my favorite video game character.

Ive played around with about a third of the cast as tourney secondaries. Lucario, ddd, pit, luigi, squirtle, ike, mk, ganon, toon link. I figured the best way to learn how to beat a character is to play them.
Eventually, i chilled out and settled down and my secondary now is whatever-space animal-I-feel-comfortable-with-that-day

Every time I try to switch to a secondary I get wrecked (except that one time I played Lucario, who I basically only use against Peach, a character I haven't really seen lately) so I probably shouldn't bother.

Fosho's little pep talk about sticking with Sonic last Saturday didn't hurt either.

Of course, I still have no clue what to do about characters like Oli where I basically spend all match running into hitboxes, but I can work on that.

I switched to Wolf because I got bored of getting camped, and Wolf can't really get camped that hard (Which is also why I alt Sheik).
