No duh? Everyone brings it up. Still not convinced Oli can't hit DK off the ledge BTdubz. Blame RB.

I'd also point out he didn't win the tournament.

I'd argue that it doesn't really matter even if Olimar can't hit DK off the edge. Just pick a character that can.

The problem with MK on ledges and under stages is that no one can handle it. If it were just Olimar or Falco we could call it a character-specific weakness.

People will most likely not play a game that is based off of which character can beat a certain character on the ledge. Remove the LGL and you might as well add stages with walk offs

@reflex, It would be a lot different if you had more characters that could infinite the majority of the cast

I'm not really concerned about who can and can't get X character off of the ledge. My question is will anyone want to play a game centered around that?

That's a valid concern which is why I said the community would be more than likely keeping the LGL even if MK were banned again.

But the game is not broken or unplayable without it and without MK.

GFs: 3 stock, 10 min., :pit: v :popo: on SV, no LGL or Scrooging rules.

:troll:

How about one stock, food on low, and either a more exclusive stage list, or :popo: is banned?

Replace ledges with MK and ask if people want a game centered around him and people will call you a scrub. Those double standards.

No, he's the biggest solution. MK is lacking, IC's are strong, need their weakness!

ICs are pretty boring until someone played them in an unusual way. Like, not chaingrabbing but still ******.
MK still has fun in him if you know how to play smart and sexy. Like Nairo can.

Also, keep Oli unbanned until Zigsta beats Dabuz.

You could also accept the fact that this game - like virtually every game out there - has its flaws and that a compromise has to be made. Banning MK is dumb.

I have to admit, IC dittos are always entertaining and MK dittos are also entertaining if the MKs are good.

Especially when it's Nairo and he loses the stock first and jumps offstage and goes far off the bottom of the screen that you can only see him through the bubble and you just hear MK noises.

But they're boring to watch against most other characters
so is dhalsim and chris Gs morrigan.

theres boring characters in every game. you can deal with it. especially considering you play one of the flashiest characters in the game, its exciting no matter who you play against.
Given all the stages and ledge play being cut from the ruleset as a result of his previous dominance, you may be right.
Im running a tournament next month, and because the people voted to ban MK, im adding 2-3 stages to the legal stage list.

In regards to people not wanting to play this game.

falco is a great reason.

You may not get inifnited... but CG to spike is ****ty

and then laser and phantasm spammed?
not everyone is Bleachigo or DEHF and like to do cool things.

Falco's can be pretty gay bro.

Yeah, I don't watch SF/whatever game this morrigan fellow is from (iirc Chris G plays UMvC3, right?) so I don't know where you're going with this lol.

To be clear, I'm not trying to push for MK/ICs/Oli banned tournies to become the standard; I know that'll never work. I'm just saying, it's a cool idea for a tournament. I plan on hosting one like that in my region after Apex 2012, but I'm also lazy so it may never happen.

If they don't know how to SDI and tech, every character is dumb.

Dat Bowser fire breath, perfect wall mang
Ganon's side-b is an infinite (reading nubs is easy)
Jigglypuff can never be caught
etc...

EDIT: Morrigan is from Darkstalkers, fyi

For the record, Carroll was way ahead of you all on the "ban MK/ICs/Oli" train. (At least I think it was carroll. Might have been someone else. It was IRL and I don't remember.)

Melee doesn't......lol just kidding (Im not kidding.) My opinion is that banning would be good for brawl in theory. The URC intended for the ban to breathe some life into brawl by increasing character variety. It just didn't work out that way. Instead of getting timed out by mk's you get CG'ed by D3 and laser camped by the space turkey. Brawls real broken, with or without MK. I really gotta ask though, if your intention is to get competitive and be the best you're gonna pick the top tiers anyway right? Balance is nice, but not vital to developing a deep fighting game.
