Since I couldnt find a picture of the Prima Guide part of MK, I took a picture of my own guide (cuz I have one lol) with my crappy camera instead! Just in case you couldnt read the score well, I took another picture closer up. Not the most fantastic thing ever, but hey, it gets the job done I guess lol:

If youd like me to take any further pictures lemme know haha.

Cut Prima some slack, they had to average in how good each characters final smash was also. With Final Smashes on even sonic is a better character than metaknight.

As a DK main I'd actually rather fight MK WITH his final smash than without, at least he couldn't tornado me and his final smash couldnt kill me till like 100.

DK's isn't that bad. On almost all tourney legal stages it covers the whole screen.

Just think Tabuu's Shock Waves, only not insta death and it lasts about 16 times longer. JUST STEP TO THE RHYTHM.

Man, idk about that. That's a large jump.

And MK specifically could just IDC through the whole thing anyway.

Kinda cool how if you apply the type of refined competitive skill our community has with the types of things we have shunned, they don't seem so bad.

Even with items on, sonic just loses to random hitboxes being thrown out.

If top level players can't space perfectly at all times, what makes you think they can dodge the entirety of the fast Final Smashes?

It should actually be fairly obvious to anyone that Meta Knight is a good character. You don't need to be very good at this game to see how many options he has.
Anyways I hate it when someone who has no idea what he is doing makes an official guide and like makes money off of it. As if I made a Street Fighter guide, having only played it for an hour.
Perhaps. I had a sense even before I came to smashboards that ganondorf was... Not good. However, I had absolutely no idea that Meta Knight was that good. At a casual level, you don't look at 'options' or ways to get out of grabs and you know nothing of advanced techniques. I'll be honest, I was expecting Lucas and Ness to be rather high when I first came on to the boards. I think if a casual player thinks that Meta Knight isn't good... that's fine. When you take away some advanced techniques, some characters are much worse/better than they are competitively (e.g. ice climbers grab chain/lock).

Anyway, i'm just saying, even though now it's so obvious to us all how good characters like Meta Knight and ICs are, that's not necessarily the case for casual players.

Also, for DK's final smash, you just learn the rhythm and side-step it every time. Ever since I first learnt the rhythm, i've only been hit by his FS once and that was early on when i learnt it. I never get hit by it now. it's the same way with tabuu's destruction waves on intense.

Speaking of those types of attacks, the only few boss attacks I find hard to avoid are Rayquazas lightning attack, master hand's walk (because i'm always close to him to attack and on intense he's very quick at it), a few of porky's attacks and a couple of Tabuu's attacks, especially his chain.

Final smashes are a billion times more linear than characters.

What an awful example.

:phone:
You realize mindgames and spacing apply to Super Sonic as well as any other move in the game right?

I'm not sure how that was hard to understand lol

Super Sonic is considered super broken for a reason, Flayl. A lot of final smashes are bad though because they don't allow for mix-up and thus are predictable. It's no coincidence that the less linear final smashes [i.e Sonic & Wario] are considered threatening while the linear ones [DK, Mario] aren't.

Luigi has the best Final Smash.
For some stages (like YI), yes. For some, lol no.

Probably the best is olimar's. I have only ever avoided all damage once and I have the third highest DJ in the game added by the fact that my char is naturally floaty. I feel bad for ganny and Ike.

Another really good one is obviously one like sonic's.

Lol I was more talking like it looks like one of the coolest. But like, if you wanted to rate Final Smashes, Id say the best are like, in no order, Bowser, Diddy, Yoshi, Wario, Ike (cuz Jab > Great Aether is a thing), Pikachu, GW, and Sonic, cant really think of any better than those couple. Like, maybe Samus', maybe also ROBs, and maybe the Landmasters, but Im not sure on those really. But I cant see a competent player ever not getting something out of those characters I mentioned's final smashes. Obviously there may be better final smashes in the terms of actually what they do when successful, but when it comes to being able to reliably connect with your opponent or get something out of them consistently, I think those are the best ones.

I think the worst are probably, in no order, Mario, Peach, Link, Zelda, Sheik, Tink, ZSS, Pit, ICies, Kirby, King Dedede, Olimar, Falcon, Marth, Ness, Lucas, and Snake, whether it be from being easy to avoid (Peach's, Ness', or Pit's for example), hard to connect with reliably (Link's, Falcon's, or Marth's for example), just straight up being bad (Mario's or Kirby's for example), or something else maybe.

Anyone who's FS I didnt mention I either think is decent or forgot lol.

Bowser actually might have the worst Final Smash gashi. He can be damaged while he is doing it, it lasts 10 seconds and he isn't scary at all.

I still say ZSS has have the absolute worst final Smash. It deals little damage, only kills if the guy gets caught in it and is terrible at SDI/DI over 50%, and turns you into Samus. I mean... I don't know if it could be much worse.

Well yeah but I like to think that ZSS doesn't even have a Final Smash instead. Because really it isn't even a Final Smash. And yeah turns you into Samus :s

Of course it's a final smash. It nukes a guy (badly, but it still does it) and turns you into the counterpart Samus. Samus' Final Smash, while a lot better, is functionally identical so if ZSS doesn't have one, Samus doesn't either.

Get the opponent offstage first and then use it.

Like, hit them with an fsmash or something so that they almost hit the blastzone in the corner, then as they fall back to the stage you start it

Situational, but better than ZSS' :glare:

Passes through most final smashes IMO. Also, Dedede always looks so happy in his headpost.

I suppose ZSS' is only kinda good because you can true combo into it from dsmash...but no imo all 4 of those characters have better FSes except maybe Kirby

Spam spotdodge and you will avoid virtually all of the damage from Olimar's Final Smash
Then as the rocket is coming down, run away from the center/airdodge

I'm glad SOMEONE is trying to get the topic away from final smashes. Olimar 2nd is funny cuz that wasn't the popular opinion at all.

My last post on final smashes I promise guys: Just USmash and FTilt everything, they both cover too much area to be constantly avoided

Sure thing, will try that the next time we play FFA with Smashballs :awesome:

Now, as fun as it is, I don't think this is the place to talk about final smashes. Talk about something interesting now please...

Giga Bowser also has some really poor kill power considering he grows to like 10x his normal size. I've never died to Giga Bowser below like 150%. Couple that with all the damage he will wind up taking from having mere super armor and you can just kill him after his Final Smash anyway.

This has nothing to do with the tier list.
