Yeah, sounds awesome. Always saw Sharky on it.
Yep! Sadly he always seems to be dealing with something that prevents him from going on Skype that often. =[

now that i think about it, back in the days where we had the sonic Xat room is when we started to break out as well.
Makes sense. Even if it's just socially, a lot of communication between character mains is good. It also makes it A LOT easier to discuss ideas/critique videos since you can have back and forths. And being involved with a character's community is really important as a player in general. A new player who talks a lot with the veterans is usually more likeable and thus likely to receive advice. Veterans get to talk among themselves and work off each other, and even then, they can become more likeable so people will want to critique/help them more.

And Skype is godlike because you can make calls. :awesome:

I was semi joking about the numbers, there´s around 10 people maing/co-maining Pokemon Trainer so it should be possible.
btw, we did tried to get a xat chat up. But it failed miserably.

Warios use Skype pretty often. Last time I used it was me, DMG, Masky, and Dyno. I usually just use it to talk with Limit. XD

Inogoro, there's three PTs in CA alone! PokemonMasterIRL, typh (inactive but still really good), and MaTa. In Texas we have Magik (still good but doesn't go PT often now) and TheNamelessWanderer (never goes to anything despite living in AUSTIN, but from what I've heard he's gotten a lot better since WHOBO 2). Steeler's in KS, and Coontail is in NY. Aposl's EC, but I don't remember what state he's in exactly. I don't play PT anymore, but I still know how he works. Trela also uses him in MT.

That's all the US PTs I can think of off the top of my head.

i saw a pit player (apparently one of the better ones) pulled 33rd place at a hundred person tourney.

i think the pit mains would see this as an accomplishment.

I see this as a detriment to their cause.

I think this is the disconnect between the pit mains that think pit is great, and the rest of us that think he is booty.
lol. top 20 is an accomplishment. Top 50~30... Not so much. I think YOU think that all Pits think that top placements include those numbers as our evidence, which just isn't true.

Also, I got 60 some-shiz but managed to take down a few names in MLG C-bus when I solo-wario'd. I know I coulda done better without the DQ, but in any case, we should probably start looking at who Pit players beat as well.

@ people saying Reflex being able to do well is proof that PT is mid tier. I'm 90% certain that if a top level player mained Falcon, he would see similar or better results. Compare Ally's Falcon to Reflex's Pokemon Trainer. Is Falcon suddenly mid tier?

I feel there is a significant gap between Sonic, Ike, Sheik and Ness(if we assume Unity rules), Pokemon Trainer. If we are assuming infinite(and ish) chaingrabs are banned, move Ness over to the other side of the list there. Pokemon Trainer just seems alot closer to Lucas, Mario and Bowser than Yoshi, Ike and Sonic imo. If anything there should be an extra tier added to mid tier just for him. Pokemon Trainer can be the Ganondorf or Mid tier, just like GnW is the Ganondorf of High Tier.

You would've had to play me at C-Bus :troll:
Renegade experience, though not relevant NOW, would have helped me stay the !@#$ away from you in our match. :awesome: But I woulda still been scared, tbqh, I knew of you before I knew of Larry because it was like.. .Ike. Come on. LOL! Anyone who places well with him in nationals has to be freaking amazing.

Tesh, Ally doesn't get top 10 with CF only in the US.

:phone:
Thats not what I said. You can look at Ally's Falcon and Reflex pokemon trainer and see ALOT of skill. But that doesnt make the character better. Ally has pretty much never gone all falcon in a US main event singles, but I'm sure he could get similar or better results than Reflex at the same tournaments. Its just a great player putting alot of work into.... a low tier imo. Thats WHY there is only one effective one.

K, reflex wins tournaments, but who does he beat in them with pokemon trainer? just because his PT has gotten more money than ally's falcon doesn't mean PT is alot better than falcon.

Lol what are you guys arguing?

I don't really follow his wins but he has to beat someone notable if he is winning tournies, we have at least one worth while person in GA tournies.

Anyways I thought this was about PT staying in Mid-tier or dropping, not Ally (lol because you really aren't talking about Falcon) and Relfex (same goes with him you are just talking about him). So first you aren't even comparing characters you are comparing players, second it has nothing to do with PT staying in mid-tier.

Oh Verm beat X player and Jerm really hasn't so somehow I'm going to relate this to characters and say Ganon makes TL not mid-tier.

-__- what?

Yeah, I hate when people use that logic. Mario is just really, really bad all in all and he only beats/goes even bad characters like Lucario, Ike, ROB, Sonic or Yoshi [Olimar is the only anomaly here because he's actually good]. He has some fine tools at low %, which gives him the edge over a couple of other Low Tier characters but that doesn't really cut it against characters that don't suck. Once you reach a certain % Mario's lack of reliable damage output and his inability to kill without the opponent being stupid becomes just blatant. Honestly, although people say that Mario beats Samus and Link I can't even see that being the case anymore simply because of the reasons stated above ... what are you doing to these characters once they're above 50ish %, you have no reliable set-ups to make up for the risk of approaching them? You're not anywhere near killing them and other than the occasional [stale] bair you can hardly even get a hit in.
I don't even know how many times I had to lose to KillerJawz to understand how little Mario can capitalize on in actuality.

:059:
Even is as far as I would say for Mario, and even then I feel like that might be too generous sometimes. Still +1/0 I'm not sure, but not it Mario's favor.

lol he's a fool then...
Everyone has their reasons.

I don't really agree with Lucario either, but maybe like if Mario perfected the gimp it could be even or something... Idk Lucario is kinda balls but not That bad, he just would get gimmicked if he doesn't know the MU probably.
That helps for a lot of Lucario's even and +1s, he can lose them. :/

Not to mention that there's been a lot of playing in that MU w/ Junebug and Boss back when he used to use Mario more, as well as a couple of other decent Marios from EC, and conversely Vato's played a lot of WC Lucarios (both aren't as strong of an example, but that's besides the point). They usually agree Lucario has the edge in the MU.
I love this post Phil.

I believe Yoshis started to improve due to the flow of knowledge between their best players having a net positive effect. Yoshi's innate qualities handle the rest. For under-represented characters, sharing knowledge is quintessential to keeping the character alive.
Well said.
