Ok, time for me to clear up this **** naming story for YET ANOTHER TIME. Everyone sit down and let Cake tell you a tale....

On August 25th, 2008, Somacruz2 posted a thread on the All is Brawl forums titled: "mastering the claw combo finisher." Here's a link if you want to read the entire thread: http://allisbrawl.com/forum/topic.aspx?id=30687

The original post: "hey guys i was just looking to see how viable the claw combo finisher was. ( the one in is combo vid where he up b's his opponent into an up air, f air or b air) is this combo viable, cause i still can't seem to master this move? has anyone here pulled it off with relative success in a tournament match?"

Snakeee's post: "Claw combo??? Heh, well I'm pretty sure I did that first, but whatever XD"

DeliciousCake's post: "I'm pretty sure I did a "Claw Combo" the first time I played the game back in February. Might as well call it the "Cake Combo." Anyways, it's *barely* a combo, and by no means should it be named after someone."

The preceeding post was followed by posts such as:

Snakeee: "Heh, yeah it doesn't really matter. I like the name Cake Combo though"

JamesSparrow: "i'm calling it cake combo from now on."
"I did a cake combo this weekend and I threw my controller down mid match and screamed "CAKE COMBOOOOO" at the top of my lungs."
^^^^^
(This post is the origin of screaming CAKE COMBO after pulling off a Plasma Wire -> U-air finisher)

Amitwin: "Regardless of combo viability and stupid the naming thereof, i am forever doomed to asscociate this "combo" with cake whenever i see it.

God ****it."

myRoboticClaw: "Cake combo is win. :D"
^^^^^^
(From the man who could have easily promoted it being named after himself)

TheRealBobMan: "So anytime I chain an aerial out of upB (is this including Dair or Nair, or does it have to be Uair/Fair/Bair?) I shout out, "CAKE COMBO!"?

I think I'll start doing this. Lol."

Rpg: "Yeah cake combo is good. =D"

noradseven (hey I recognize that name): "cake combo is cooler name I agree, but this is like what 2 hits thats no combo. It resembles a loop more because it can resets the opponent to where they were at the start."

Hayato: "BTW Cake Combo definately sounds more sexy its almost like "The Hayato" in Melee... except it cant be done nemore"

Jigglyzelda003: "cake combo is catchy lol. i like it."

Mooderpie: "i suggest yelling i want cake after one everytime"
^^^^^^
(JamesSparrow was on this first bud...)

ThreeSided: "Awesome. Cake combo it is.

I'm going to yell it... and no one will have any idea what the hell I'm talking about."

And that, my friends, is how the Cake Combo came to be.

EDIT: I think we need a sticky on this post just so we don't have to go through this again.
Just realized that I am the concluding quote in that explanation.

I am proud to be part of the ZSS metagame history. ^_^

Particularly that of the cake combo! =D

Why would you ask someone that o.O

Decide for yourself based on their results and their videos, but don't ask someone to say for themselves, you'll never get a real answer...

f-tilt is more useless than d-air
Whattttt. That's a key move for me.

Wow thank's a lot :). And yeah that really wasn't really a big deal with DSF. I did a side B, footstooled a grenade, and side B-ed him again. It really caught him off guard because, at the time, no one really knew much about ZSS (well not all that many do now either really). I'm happy to give tips, just ask on here or talk to me on AIM which should be listed here.

This video always makes me sad because I know Snakeee deserved that second game. But shame on you for doing the under-the-stage pull twice! Oh yeah, let me know if you're coming down anytime soon Snakeee, we need to finish our ditto.

If you use it while high up you get down to the stage again fast and it cancels before you hit the ground so you don't have that horrible landing lag.

Ftilt is a good "get away from me" move while at the same time hardly knocking away the opponent so in short, it resets your spacing nicely. Plus, upwards ftilt can stop some aerial approaches at times.

Random question: why would you choose to use ftilt over dtilt?
F-Tilt at medium-high percentages has fantastic horizontal knockback. This can be useful for forcing an edgeguard or just testing your opponent's reaction time. F-Tilt has fantastic priority, guys. I don't see any reason to hate on this attack.

I always aim it downwards, so the d-tilt definintely shouldn't be harder to do. I don't pivot those moves much anyway, but maybe I should...

Is that even possible: that ZSS be SUPER campy...Anyone with projectiles will pretty much force you to approach because her laser thing sucks balls with range and speed.

I probably have one of the most defensive effective ZSS play styles, but I don't have any vids that arn't ages old. Plus its deceptive cause once I connect a hit I am extremely aggressive until momentum gets set back to A. speaking of which I need to finish that part of my guide tomorrow, gahh got distracted.

trick: f-roll is 1 million times faster than your backroll(seriously avoid using this ever), so positioning yourself so f-roll allows a quick escape is necessary for a defensive game.

Nefarious is right...but that's not what I meant.

This is what I meant.

Watch at around 1:30 into the video.

I do that WAY too much. Lol.
Wow that was fortunate spacing, also use f-air more on edge hogs, its harder to dodge/punish
