I think Ted will be just doing like 8 pools with a 16 man bracket entry (top 2 seeds).

If he does swiss,

swiss is a system where every player fights a round randomly with another opponent. The rounds are two matches on random neutrals usually...

after that first round every player who won 2 matches fights other players who won 2 matches, the 1 winners play other 1 winners, etc etc.
This goes on for several rounds and creates a seeding, it's akin to a round robin but as I mentioned its constantly seeding itself and has a good idea of a top 8-16 players within 5-6 rounds.
It's good with like 20 man tournaments or something but gets troublesome with larger amounts of players (having to wait long periods of time for matches to end because you MUST wait for those results...)

But if there's going to be 30+ people I'd strongly advise against it.

If there's 30 people maybe make 3 pools of 10 that have their own swiss? haha.
That may work out better time wise...

Having 3 sets of swiss woulld take just as long really. Either way there is the same amount of demand for TVs.

But a swiss round can't continue if only ONE match hasn't been played (have you used swiss perfect before ted?).

Anyway pools are probably better anyway. They don't need to rely on every other person there needing to finish their matches to continue with theirs....

Imo swiss > pools (coz every western sydney tourney with more than 20 people results in 3 way ties <_<)

melbourne used seeded pools last tourny, and it produced the most exciting quarters, semis and grand finals. no crap players (or players that didnt deserve to be there) made it into these. so it was all like attila v cobalt and tibs v earl and exciting matches that people have a genuine interest in.
