I'm not judging you at all JPW, and apologise for coming off harshly. I have no doubt you'll be a nice guy. I've just seen this kind of first impression happen to too many people before you (including myself), and I know the best way to deal with it is just to stop posting about it, forget it ever happened, and of course, play lots of smash bros! =D

wow everyone is so serious XD, like any of this even matters anymore or ever mattered to anyone in the first place.

To anyone who was trolling, it is enough, cause seriously, they don't get it. This is the wrong crowd to be having fun with people. I mean, we know what you mean, we get it, we had a laugh; but they don't yet and it's starting to become painful to watch.
Until next time.

hahahaha!! after that episode I doubt very much at all that we do comes off as serious to you, does it? :p

JPW - Chill out man, we're all cool here, nobody's being overly judgemental of you or anything like that, let's just drop it. I still don't know if you remember me but although I haven't talked to you a lot I know you're a good guy so it's all good.

Well gents, we have our Smash 4 controller.

Oh excellent, they swapped the position of the control sticks. The control stick position is the main reason I cannot play with a classic controller. If you see how I hold the control stick when I play, you can probably figure out why I couldn't use a classic controller.

Shame about the standard ABXY layout though. When will they realise that the GC ABXY layout was near perfect?

Also I'm kinda curious how long it will take for someone to develop a reliable GC -> Wiimote adapter, bascially converting GC inputs to classic controller inputs

It looks like a weird cross between Xbox 360 and PS3 controller.

I do like it though. I was hoping for something like this, since playing Smash Bros. on the tablet would be, uh, bad.

Realistically it wouldn't be that bad, it's mainly just be ****ing awkward to take the tablet to tourneys. They changed it so it actually has analog sticks and not nubs, at least. I really would appreciate a version of the WiiU Pro with a low right stick tho.

Wen are they going to realise that the best way to do things is to hav all the buttons on the right hand side and the control stick on the left?

They dumb

Oh and ppl hav developed an adapter for gc to mote but its atm just a jumble of wires
Plus they dont plan on commercialising it since it was an experimental backshef hobby thing.

Depends on whether the game is any good I guess, I think It might boom up again for a while back when ssbb was new and popular. Its hard to say with this new system though..

although it may be viable with this new controller.

http://wii.mmgn.com/News/Wii-U-Pro-Controller-revealed

It would nearly be the same as a GC controller if they switched the buttons and stick on the right side...

Hopefully the new smash wont be a casual fest like brawl, and have unbalanced chars lawl. *cough* metaknight *cough*

I think he's talking about brawl, rather than the new game. To that I say, just look at Melee.

Oh whoops, I didnt read properly. xD

I personally think brawl will die out tbh, I mean I find melee is only surviving due to it being more technical than brawl and such.

Its hard to say though, but I think it will die out. I'll be sad if ROB gets axed in the new smash, and it probably will happen due to him being super unpopular lul.

has E3 nintendo conference already happened?

also i dont like the new controller in that pic, mainly since it needs the buttons and stick positions on the right to be swaped.

as for brawl, i think after SSB4 is released brawl will only continue to do well if the new smash is less competitive than brawl, that doesnt really leave much room since SSBB is already teatering that edge.
remember melee survives as good as it does today becuase it is a far better competitive fighter than brawl.

ted after my exams i would be up for a terraria playthrough but if death means out then i will be playing for about 5 min, might out live Nathaniel though.

Yeah, that's what I meant. But what did the melee tournament scene look like when brawl just came out? (I wasn't around then.)

SSB4 is going to use brawl's engine, so brawl will likely die out because 4 will probably just be a similar version, but with a greater char pool etc.

Also, they said they're going to make an effort to balance the game this time, but who knows how that'll turn out.

Lol, they'll probably add some dumb mechanic like "air tripping" into the game along side with normal tripping. XD

Nah, Hopefully It'll have more potential. Dont wanna get my hopes too high though.

I read it ages ago so I can't remember where I got it from.

I remember the balance thing came directly from Sakurai though. I remember him saying that wifi results suggests that the chars are balanced but that the competitive community thought otherwise. He said he is going to have a team dedicated to balance instead of just himself like last time.

The engine thing I think I just heard from multiple people.

probably more like 2 if they rush it, let's not forget they've had a year to work on it already.

who isn't going to get it on release?
