I will be running PM at 2pm again. Would you guys be interested in another PM All-Star Random tournament in the morning or should we run doubles? Please throw me suggestions.
Also, I will be talking about this more extensively with other players but it is likely that we will be trialing a new stage list this Sunday.

After much discussion and community feedback the recent TOs of Sydney PM tournaments have come together to trial a new stagelist this Sunday. After several hours of work I've compiled a build for everyone to download to use at the tournaments for accessibility and professionalism, not unlike regions throughout the world.
Stagelist
Starters
Green Hill Zone
Smashville
Battlefield
Pokémon Stadium 2
Dreamland
Counterpicks
WarioLand (Singles Only)
Distant Planet (Doubles Only)
Fountain of Dreams
Final Destination
Sky Sanctuary Zone
Delfino's Secret
The only real change to our previous stagelist is the axing of Yoshi's Island (Brawl), a stage that has received lots of negative feedback from many community members both NSW and out of state. This stage wasn't picked much in tournament at all and was a waste of a slot.
As such, we have replaced it with Sky Sanctuary Zone, a stage made by NSW resident @Noserus
, widely playtested and improved over the last 4 months. We have assessed what is missing in the current stagelist and Sky Sanctuary fits the puzzle as a counterpick. Several PMDT members have expressed their liking for this stage as well and it's even coming to the next version of the netplay build. If you guys want, I can provide extensive statistical data about this stage for the sake of comparison, just give me a buzz. It's a medium sized stage that helps fill a hole in blastzone ratios, both walls and ceilings.
I will have my laptop on me this Sunday to change any setups over to this tournament standard, this is a very short process.
Keep in mind this is is still simply a trial, we will further assess tournament data and community feedback throughout Sydney over the coming weeks and will alter or remain on this setup as per our analysis. Thanks everyone!
Results for the Project M Brackets at today's tournaments! Thanks everyone for entering and I'm glad you enjoyed the new tourney build :D Scarpian
if you can transfer the singles results to QLDSmash as well that would be sweet.
I'll be uploading the recorded sets over the next three or so days.
Where: 2/24 James Street, Lidcombe (5 min walk from Lidcombe Station)
Cost: Free
Other: NO SMOKING
The first GCT last week went pretty well with a lot of sets recorded and good feedback from a lot of people. This weeks should be even better and work out a lot better for everyone attending.
This event is focused towards mid-low level players who are interested in improving their game and having some matches recorded. Oh, I didn't mention that this event will have a stream setup and the aim is to get everyone on stream at least once. This event is completely free (just like gabe), but we still have some small, incidental costs associated with running the event so we'll be looking to offset that by selling cans and things like that. This event is perfect for those looking to step up their game so don't miss out!
I've uploaded 11 Project M singles sets that were recorded over the course of the tournament, you can find these in the playlist below. Most of them don't have thumbnails yet, which I'll fix when I get access to my computer at home. Thanks guys, I've also got 3 or 4 doubles sets as well if you guys want those uploaded. Click here
Does anyone know when another one of these tournaments are happening? Have these stopped for now and if so are there any tournaments in the near future for Smash Wiii U? Thanks a lot, Joe.
The SGT tournaments at UTS run basically every other weekend. There's nothing happening this weekend, but next weekend would be a pretty safe bet. UNSW tournaments are a lot more sparse (but usually have higher attendance) and these happen every few months or so.
They're generally on Sundays unless they clash with tournaments at UNSW or there are other events on, such as was the case several weeks ago with father's day.
The date of the next one is yet to be announced. It'll be posted in here once we know.
It'll be okay if you can coordinate with someone else that has a gamecube adaptor that isn't being used in another Wii U. Try posting in the Facebook group.
I will be running Project M again from around 2pm. There likely won't be time for a side event this time as Rivals of Aether will presumably be running in the morning. Speaking of which, phibzy
, I can also bring my laptop to provide a setup for that bracket.
Please bring a PM setup if you can, I probably can only bring one this time, not three like usual, so I need all hands on deck if we want to get this running. Our entrants are steadily increasing so it's important we maintain this standard of professionalism with our amount of setups if we want to promote our healthy scene. Please download the Sydney Tourney Build if you haven't already.
