Besides a bad shift at work, I had a really great day.

It was really nice to meet you all, I appreciate a lot of the advice you gave me, and I feel like I've learned a lot. Already looking foward to the next meet.

Thanks a lot Tim for hosting.

Andrew, we should play a duet sometime.

Ty Tim.

Sucks that you had to leave Andrew, sorry I didn't get to give you more games and something to show the ZSS boards. You're always improving, sorta ***** me a couple of times.

Nice meeting you Alex, always good to see new people.

Tom/Jelly is coming. As is Summoner, and maybe Zero.

Anyone else I wouldn't know but I have no room in my car as I will be driving Turtle, Tom, Tim and Summoner back home at least.

@Summoner: Do you need a lift out there too?

Edit: EA answered my question before I even posted it.

I'll be training up and might not need that lift back after all. (Probably having to leave early)

I'm a 50% on going, I'll be either training up on Saturday and Sunday, or assuming all goes well tomorrow and parents are generous, driving up myself.

My father doesn't like video games much and doesn't think I study much.

Which is half true, but besides. Actually going to the tournament would have been more productive. Time on the train to study, making me actually work on my projects, etc. Would have been better.

Alas, I worked and earned money, and studied for marks. And I'm no more happy for it.

:(

I feel bad for you. My father is a bit the same. Except he is a musician and doesn't think I practice enough.

How much longer till you finish? School that is.

I graduate in almost exactly one more month 29th September, and my HSC exams finish on the 4th of November.

My father knew I didn't practice enough, for both tennis (when I played competitively) and with my music. I knew it too. I guess I didn't have the drive for these things.

For someone doing a music degree, I really dont practice enough. Hence why I study teaching as well. Those that can't do, teach, as they say :p

Not long now then :) I think my exams finished early November, but I had a 2 week gap to study for the last one. Are yours nicely spaced out?

I also played a lot of tennis in my day :O

Yes, they are, fortunately enough. First week has English and Religion exams. Second week only has Maths and Extension Maths, in the first part of the week, which gives me the rest of the week to study for the next week. Physics, Software D&D and Japanese are all in the first half of the last week. Not too nice, but it's bearable. Funny though, SDD and Japanese are at the same TIME. I'm already trying to work out how to get some food into my supervised break before SDD.

But my first exam is on September 12th, Japanese speaking.

EDIT: You have IM? Mine's in my profile.

From experience at St Mary's I'm telling you now that you should get very close to 100% in Religion (just write Jesus as every answer XD)
My HSC was spread out over the entire period 0.0
I had like, one exam a week... so I had pretty much a whole week to study in between each exam.
My parents are pretty much like that too... they dislike Video Games and all to do with them. We only really play them on the weekend too, during the week is for school/uni/work, etc.
I wish Uni was like school was T_T

And you're having a gap year, if I'm not mistaken, correct Zero?

newcastle went epic in melee,

bad luck to jelly getting knocked into losers by S.D.
jelly and i played an 8 minute camping projectile fest in losers, samus was superior in the first game and we both felt so dirty that i forfeited the rest of the set. He then played good matches through losers only to be knocked out by turtle after a failed attempt to employ cheap tactics by camping pokefloats with spammus. Jelly's final placing was 7th.
Daz was solid throughout and was knocked into losers by turtle? he took away 9th place after failing to capitalise on good leads against tibs twice and epicly choking the last stock of the second game.
S.D was knocked into losers by cao in winners finals iirc, he then beat jaz in an epic 4 set match that was both electrifying and terrifying to watch. Against Cao in the grand finals he took the first game with a technically and tactically brilliant marth only to be defeated by cao's spacing and intelligence on his counter pick. He then switched to Fox and lost a very close game on dreamland that featured epic double laser skills and brilliant spacing. he CP'ed dreamland again and was simply outclassed (no johns) in a match that featured the best casual ftilt of the tournament.

The reputation on Newcastle as a strong melee location (based solely off the exploits of jelly and SD) was lived up to thanks to the efforts of jelly and SD. Dazza sheik has inproved greatly and only needs more match experience and a little more tech skill to compete in the high levels. Tim went ****.

Everyone who watched the melee finals left feeling fulfilled and with a zen like state of inner peace whilst those that spent their time playing some sort of metaphor for anal penetration involving 4 middle aged men ( i think its called anal pro) were probably left with a feeling of shame and dirtiness.
