ehh I do perfectly fine without the stand but I'm usually playing laying down anyway so I prop it up on my knee for support

I just lay the game on my stomach most of the time, I'm usually sitting down anyway.

I don't see what the big deal is, the control scheme for the most part is the exact same as Metroid Prime Hunters. The complaints about being hard to hold/cramps should revolve around the system not the game. Personally I get more cramps from holding Mario Kart 7 for 20 minutes than I do for a hour of Uprising.

I've been using a screen protector since when I got my DS Lite 4 years ago. Screen underneath is still in perfect condition, and the protector itself isn't doing too bad after all those years and three Pokemon ranger games. :b:

The touchscreen thing is a moot point if you have a screen protector. I bought one just for Uprising, lol.

Screen protectors, who needs them? My regular DS' screen still works fine. It may not look pretty, but it doesn't get in the way of the game I'm playing ever.

So that magazine was sort of right. Though only difference was it wasn't announced at e3.

Never was a fan of huge portables, I wonder if this means the 3DS price will be reduced.

3DS XL shatters everyone's notions on making a 3DS with two circle pads.

Also, Namco to work on the next Smash game? This is going to be very interesting. Perhaps people will get a more competitive Smash this time?

Also, KH DDD demo available for download.

Edit: KH is a much more fast paced game with the addition of Flow motion. Glad I pre-ordered the mark of mastery edition of the game. (Also, TWEWY fans will be satisfied with how they presented some of the characters as well as the music. Hearing Twister again brings me back.)

I wasn't too thrilled with pokemon conquest.

I dunno, I kind of was expecting an end game or something where you get the best pokemon and max level with the best trainers.

It just resets after a certain part and you have to start again

imo the 3DS looks better than the 3DS XL, even if the screens are larger.

I just meant design wise, but yeah that probably is bad too. That means a blurred appearance like DS games on a 3DS, yeah?

Probably would be easier to hold and wouldn't give/give less cramps when you play it.

If I didn't already own a 3DS that would be the one I'd probably end up buying.

I don't get cramps at all playing my 3ds so I'd never want an XL.

I like being able to put mine in my pocket :3

I think the whole XL is the first step to making the first nintendo laptop. Touch screen keyboard sounds pretty nice too

No thank you I've tried that with my iPad's keyboard which is more or less what an otherwise normal keyboard would be and I absolutely hate using it as an actual keyboard. I'd never go with a touchscreen keyboard because touchscreen anything is terrible imo. I'd take a physical keyboard over some screen with icons on it any day

Not all touchscreens are bad. It just depends on how they are programmed.

They really are blurred, I noticed it right away when I played Pokemon on my 3DS.
If you hold down start+select as it starts up, it makes it sharper, but the screen gets pretty small. I kind of like it like that actually.

Go from a phat DS to a 3DS, and then tell me what is better.

All I notice is how the color is way better. The resolution is fine. Besides, its not like DS games take up the whole screen on your 3DS anyways.

My 3DS started out as just a replacement for my DS that has a cracked hinge and a loose A button and had become to annoying to play on. The blurry image was annoying at first but I've grown used to it. :/

Maybe it's just because I don't remember what DS games look like on the DS.

It doesn't look too bad to me

I'm not a huge fan of the blurry deal, but y'know, playing at actual res with DS games on the 3DS just makes it too teeny.

On another note, the recent AC 3DS footage got me more hyped for it.

I promised myself I wouldn't buy a 3DS until at least Smash 4 comes out on it, but Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is starting to change my mind

If you can wait for Luigi's Mansion, then I suggest buying a 3DS when the large one comes out. No doubt another price drop will occur.

Apparently Rayman Origins is already out on the 3DS?

I haven't seen it. Is it's release limited to gamestop or something?

Edit: Maybe it's not? Club Nintendo are giving away extra points for buying and registering it. I would give extra points for a game that isn't released too I guess.

A report from E3 2012 says it won't be released until November

Edit 2: I am so close to getting the Hanafuda Mario cards from Club Nintendo!

I was already so used to playing emulated SNES/GBC/GBA games that I didn't even realize it was unnatural until I tried the original size function on the 3DS.

Just curious, but how's the RPG line-up looking for the 3DS? I know with the DS, I found a lot of games that were RPGs, or at least RPG-style in scope that had really good stories and were just generally surprisingly good in scope overall. You know, stuff like TWEWY, Sands of Destruction, 999, Luminous Arc 2, Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden Tierkreis, Golden Sun Dark Dawn (from what I hear), as well as what I've heard about the Shin Megami Tensai series (which is Persona, right?).

So yeah, I guess I'm asking if there are any good games either RPG-wise, with that same kind of feel, or just with really good stories out on 3DS or coming out on 3DS? I know Good People Die a.k.a. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (the sequel to 999) is coming out on 3DS, and I'm assuming there's a new Kingdom Hearts (even though realistically, I haven't played more than 5 minutes of 358/2 Days, and that's it for my series experience) coming out, and a new Castlevania, but before I jump into looking to buy one, I thought I'd try to get an idea for that kind of stuff that's out there so uh, if any of you guys have any recommendations for when I DO get one, then that'd be awesome.

3DS doesn't have a lot of RPGs out. Off the top of my head, it has Tales of the Abyss and SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked. There's a lot more coming out for it like Code Princess, KH DDD, and Unchained Blades. Bravely Default, SMT Soul Hackers, and Monster Hunter are games that haven't had any localization announcements yet.

Most of the handheld RPGs are still on PSP and DS.
