Aren't they rebooting the main series? I know they are making all these spin offs, but I figure the next official one is gonna be something totally new.

I haven't heard anything much on reboots but I can look that up when I have more free time. The only ones I know of is Revelations and a new RE that SOCOM makers are trying to make.

I'd like for it to print nachos.

I keep calling Nintendo tech support about it, but they haven't been taking me seriously.

Finally went out and got some $$$ for the eShop. Got Link's Awakening and Shantae: Risky's Revenge (lolol dsi game? I know, but it's still really good :x). Almost got Cave Story, too, but I know it's coming out on the 3DS as a new reboot so that will just have to wait.

Are there any other essentials that are already on the eShop, guys?

Looks like you already got the two best ones. Donkey Kong '94 is a lot of fun is you're into that kind of thing.

I feel the same way about getting Cave Story. I want it now, but I guess it'll be more fun if I wait for the 3D version.

Mhm. I think I'm going to get DSi Cave Story anyway just because I love its pixel-y charm. Cave Story 3DS looks great, and I'm going to buy it regardless, but I don't think it captures the same feel with its art style.

I'm honestly heartbroken by this. Inafune left because he thought Capcom was run by idiots, and it seems he was right.

How does the 3D work? Are there only certain shows right now that use it?
I have yet to see a single 3D viewable TV show or movie on it (though I'm not saying that there isn't anything to view in 3D). I'm sure that if, for example, How to Train Your Dragon 3D was on the network, it'd be in 3D.

But that doesn't answer your question- so my answer would be: I have no idea how the 3D looks. I'm sure it looks average, if not above that.

Netflix doesn't work very well on my 3DS. The first time I start it up, it freezes and bugs out on me. And some of the movies come with the music, but not the voices. I don't know if that's 3DS exclusive or if it happens on the PS3/Computer as well.

But when I do get it to work, it works just fine.
Even if I'll never use it because I have a laptop >_>

I'm just gonna say I don't like the 3DS because I do't like change. Losing the GBA slot was too much change for me :(

I do hear there's gonna be a new Smash Bros game but I wonder how it's gonna be played on a handheld lol.

That's a silly reason. It's not like you don't already own a GBA/DS to play GBA/GBC games on. And if you don't, SPs are 30-40 now. :/

Yeah I agree. it is a silly reason. I didn't like the DSi either because of that. I might try to get the 3DS if it cross my path :)
I don't see why they couldn't keep the GBA slots though. Wait GBA are discontinued right?

GBAs are most likely discontinued and if anything...the plan would be to download it from the DS online store (or whatever it is) so you can store it on your SD card.

If anyone is interested, I am selling my Cosmo 3DS for $215. The total you would pay for one retail is $267.50 with tax.

It's in perfect condition, I only used it to play through Ocarina of Time, it includes Original box and all manuals plus download content, Link's Awakening, Soul of Darkness, Excite Bike, and Pokedex 3DS. The price is negotiable. PM me if interested!

I recommend it, but you have to actually want one. If you are okay with the fact there isn't much of a reason to buy it right now, but still want one, purchase it! Otherwise, you may as well wait until games and software you want hits the shelves.

Though with all the people who are waiting, developers are cancelling games due to a small market. So I recommend everyone to get one, just so developers know that there is interest.

It's hard to invest 250 bucks and hope developers will start producing games for it. I mean...the Vita isn't even out yet, so it's foolish to think developers are waiting on that system. We don't even know how that will sell...and I'm betting sales will be worse given they will be fighting with 3DS, probably poor opening game selection, and the PSP was terrible for the most part.

Maybe there was a pretty big niche of portable gamers that have moved onto cell phones =/

Would any of you guys who own a 3DS actually recommend it? From what I've seen lately, there is literally no good reason to get one of the things. :/
I'm loving my 3DS so far. If it's any indication, I'm already using it at a much more frequent rate than any other handheld I've had. There aren't tons of games yet, but there are more than enough to occupy yourself, and there are also tons of other cool things to mess with, like DSiWare, Netflix, Nintendo Video, and Virtual Console games. By the end of the year, it's going to have a really great library of top-notch titles, so you might as well get one ahead of the curve.

Most of the bad press the 3DS has gotten has been from people who have never used one, or maybe only tried one out at an anchored Best Buy kiosk for 30 seconds. A lot of people forget that the original DS didn't have any great games until a year after it was out, and the 3DS already has a lot more to offer than its predecessor did.

Do not get a 3DS if you don't want to play any of the games released or soon to be released or dislike 3D. That's about all I can think of right now.

I played my friend's and she told me there literally isn't any reason to get one of these and while looking for games she told me that there were only crappy ones like Splinter Cell

Shadow Wars is a very good game if you like SRPGs. It's probably the best launch title. Pilotwings is pretty good imo. Zelda is great of course. Street Fighter is pretty decent. Ridge Racer's fun.

It's really not that bad of a launch/early lineup. I like it, I like the 3DS.

Don't forget BlazBlue :x

Not only that, but now there's Netflix, Nintendo Video, eShop games, and plenty more. If you want to wait until a larger library of games are available, that's fine, but I'm certainly not regretting picking up my 3DS on launch day.
