^ You really do. I wish they had waited on Black/White to be on DS. I love Pokemon because each generation is a new thing to look at/do. As awesome as 5th gen is, being on DS like 4th made it feel like it had no special factor. =/

So, I've been enjoying my 3DS, and I've played quite a bit of Zelda and Shantae, as well as a little bit of Excitebike and X-Scape.

I have fairly big problem with my system, though. If I press certain spots on the "Select-Home-Start" part of the system (and I usually do accidentally), the whole system shuts down on the spot. I've already looked on Nintendo's website about this, but I'd like to ask others with the system, is this by any stretch normal?

Is it just me, or can the 3D on the 3DS give players a headache?

A couple of my friends came over for a mini smashfest today (most of our group couldn't attend) and he brought his 3DS and Ocarina of Time. Prior to this, I hadn't really gotten the chance to play a 3DS, but I checked it out for a couple of minutes, and the 3D started to bother me a little bit. Is this normal for somebody who isn't used to it??

Yes, it takes some getting used to (I didn't fully get used to viewing the 3D until about 20 or so minutes of 3D time).

That being said, it still gives me eye strain and occasionally headaches. Every person is different, but the 3D DOES give some people problems.

Yes, and it is a common complaint.

It's recommended by nintendo themselves to only be playing for brief bursts of 3D and to rest your eyes.

As for the exact time, I do not know - I think it was a half hour?

Well, I, myself, do not use the 3D. Too much ghosting and what have you. I tried to find a perfect position but can't. Oh well. At least to handheld itself is still awesome. And will be even better when it gets some awesome games. :awesome:

Oh ok. Maybe its just me then. If I purchased one anytime soon (which I wanted to as soon as it gets multiple awesome games) then I probably would not get a lot of use out of the 3D. It's kind of disappointing that would be the case, but I'd rather not worry about headaches and other health problems from it.

I thought they were giving Black/White some sort of special feature if played on the 3DS.
Is this false?

It was proven false. Whoever started the rumor, even if it was a rep, didn't know what they were talking about.

Keep in mind, the 3DS isn't just a DS with 3D capabilities, it's an altogether new system that is much more powerful.

I know. Even in 2D all the time, it would be worth a purchase. Right now, I'm just waiting because the only game on there that interests me is OoT. I'm looking forward to the remake of StarFox 64, the new Mario Kart, Paper Mario, of course Smash, and I'm undecided about the new Animal Crossing. (Knowing me I'll probably get it.)

>Graphics being a common complaint for anything

Man, that really annoys me.

I'm not really talking about graphics. I don't care about those. I mean general processing power for bigger game worlds and more information. I would be satisfied with another generation of wii graphics to be honest.

There's a good chance I'll be getting a 3DS for free in a week or two...with that being said, I might just end up selling it to get the Vita or Wii U later on.

It's gonna be a tough choice =/.

The cartridges also have a higher capacity than Xbox games.

This is somewhat false. Depending on the company, they can opt to go with different cartridges. For example, RE: Mercenaries for the 3DS is only a 2 GB cartridge, while the actual RE 3DS game to come out later will be 8 GB.

But that's just Capcom being lazy imo.

Well, I don't know if "lazy" is the right word, it's more likely that Mercenaries just didn't need such a big cartridge.

I dunno...personally, it's a great game for those who enjoy Mercenaries, but there are a lot of things lacking in terms of overall concept and design. From the simple thing to having (even if it's stupid) a story mode to the frame rate issues on the bad guys. Then you look at how each character only has one alternate costume, and to price it as a full game just irks me a bit more. You might as well slap this mode on RE 3D later on or sell this version for less than 40.

Regular DS games were the same way too. It's still true IMO because it's capable of doing that, its just some of the games are so simple they don't need a cartridge that big. Others on the other hand are huge in comparison and have a lot more depth. Really it just depends on the game they are creating and the company.

My 3DS is seriously rotting to death. I'm so excited for the future of the system, but I just don't understand. Nintendo has claimed that the 3DS launch was not a rush, and they have claimed that they have alot of 3rd party support due to the accessibility of the system. Why then is the launch title selection so god damn poor? I'm seriously wondering why, for whatever reason, that would seem acceptable to them as a company...I have a total of ONE 3DS game (OoT3DS) and am currently using my 3DS as my DS 95% of the time.

A ton of new stuff came to the 3DS in June. Maybe you have too much free time, because I'm struggling to chip away at my 3DS library.

And oh wow, Starfox comes out on 9/11
