MH3DS is bound to happen. I already knew it before 3DS was officially launched. Capcom wouldn't miss this opportunity.

The touch screen makes it extremely useful. Not only is it a map, you can tell your friends where to go by touching it. Also extremely good for mixing items on the spot and using items without scrolling through the entire inventory.

The only bad part is that there's no keyboard function.. you can probably send messages by using the touch screen but it becomes so tedious that you don't wanna type.

I'll be playing this game 24/7.

Edit: actually, that brings up a good topic. What games would you guys like to see on the 3DS?

3DS has a good potential for fighters. Its not as great as playing on console but I'd say it feels much more at home than say.. 360's controller. Also, you can buy an accessory that basically turns your 3DS into a controller (some kind of palm rest accessory).

Anyways, here's my list:
SSF4 AE (bound to happen since SSF4 worked out so well)
SF x Tekken
DJ Max
Monster Hunter
Mortal Kombat 9 (I can only hope..)

I thought SSF4 was a good fighter on the 3DS, I know its a fighter but it would have been cool if it had a little more of a story.

MH is probably the best JRPG of this generation. That said, it's been stuck to the PSP for many reasons. It's popular in Japan, and they prefer it on PSP OVER DS, or something. (Being a main reason)

Tri broke the mold though. Capcom decided to make a bold move and put it on the Wii. It was quite a success, btw. Put 400 hours into it, and it was an amazing game.I think MH will be on PSP/NGP a lot, but they used Tri to see if putting MH on something non-PSP would work. I'm willing to bet we'll see 3DS MH, but also a PS3 one as well. I think they realized they can expand their console list.

Anyways, this to say I want MH ON 3DS BADDD.

I was actually just using this as my speculation why MH 3DS is basically a given:

MH is extremely popular in Japan and so is Nintendo. It would make sense to put it on a Nintendo system but then the DS wasn't capable of handling it so they went with the PSP. Japanese people actually bought a PSP just for the game like how many of us bought a Wii for Brawl. Now, because Nintendo remains as a popular gaming company along with a new handheld that is more powerful than the PSP and an analog nub, Capcom is definitely going to make the effort in making a MH3DS happen.

Along with the features I mentioned about the touch screen incorporated into MH's gameplay; its hard to say no.

Also, Capcom ported MHTri to Wii because of console sales. Capcom puts less effort in the game (graphics wise) and people get to play on a console where many people own. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere before. It was sort of an experiment too but Capcom would rather play it safe and release it on a console which guarantees more sales instead. At that time, Ps3 still wasn't doing so well.

People who assume that buying a console just for one game won't expand their library of games are morons.

Well why would they? I mean, they could have bought the console much earlier, but waited until "X" game came out. I see a lot of people on video game forums post "Should I buy a system for this game?" and 90% of the responses are "No".

Its always a good marketing strategy as well. That's why there are exclusive games targeted to those die-hard fans. By introducing them to the console, they are bound to play other games as well. My main reason for the Wii was for Brawl; it doesn't mean I will only be playing Brawl (funny thing is though I didn't even touch Brawl after 2 months since launch).

It's already been confirmed that they're not doing the Arcade Edition for the 3DS. They said they weren't interested in expanding anymore on that game and wanted to work on other games now.

Its Capcom. They say one thing, and then they do the complete opposite after a while. I expect an AE 3DS at least a year after AE gets released for consoles.

Its like how SSF4 is gonna get a PC port now. (rumors at the moment but with strong evidence)

I applaud that you expanded your horizons afterwards, but there's a good percentage that just end up letting the console dust away because they are done with the game they had.

I waited until MGS4 came out to buy PS3, but I also knew it came with other incentives such as a dual shock wireless controller which were just introduced. Another benefit was it was part of a PS3 package, so I was paying the same price for a PS3 before the game came out. The PS3 on top of that can play PS2 games, and I got a free MGS4 poster.

So overall, I had plenty of benefits to go with the game purchase. At the same time, I already had my eye on some other games before I purchased MGS4. If anything, I was waiting for that to come out + a good deal. Lucky for me, it worked out.

Oh well I've never had the thought " oh I'm getting this one amazing game and never getting anything else" that is just completely silly. But yeah i see what you are saying. Quite the investment for ONE game. As they say though, To each there own.

Repayment to the Europeans after 20 years of complaining that they got everything last?

The list for Wii's new game releases actually makes me want to cry right now except The Conduit 2. I really hope E3 they will reveal more better games for Wii. That being said the 3DS line up finally get's a first party, though it's OoT. xD

Last year had an excellent Wii lineup of games. I had a feeling this year would be lackluster 'cause of it. A new Kirby, Pandora's tower, Zelda, that may be it. 3DS will be stealing the spotlight anyways.

That's what I'm thinking, too. The 3DS will get most of the 1st/2nd party support in 2011 to give it a decently-sized startup library (and from the looks of it, this will be one of the better starting lineups for a game system, despite what is currently lackluster for it's first few months on the market), and then it will become mostly even with the Wii and DS in 2012. (I think that the DS will be produced up until 2013, kind of like how there was an overlap for the cheaper PS1 in the PS2 era or the PS2 in the PS3's time)

Not sure if "finally" is being sarcastic or not, but 3DS also achieved first party titles in the form of Steel Diver and Nintendogs.

I almost completely forgot that Metal Gear Solid 3 is going to be on this console. Ocarina of Time, MGS3, Kingdom Hearts, and Mario Bros are more than enough reason for me to buy the console without ever considering buying any more games. This isn't even mentioning the Pokemon, Mario Kart, Sonic, Final Fantasy, and Star Fox games that will be released eventually as well.

In all honesty though, does it really matter if a console has a lack luster line up? I mean on average...I'd like to personally know how many games you guys buy a year. Personally, I always wait for games to show up on craigs list so I can save money, but the most I've bought in one year was 3, which was last year. All three though were relatively old or I got for cheap.

If I do end up buying a game, it's generally a first party game for the Wii like Mario, Zelda, etc...where as PS3 I see myself just buying any kind of game.

Anything else, I find a cheap way to obtain them. For example, I obtained a free Block Buster's gaming online pass for a month, and had the luxury of beating Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Red Dead, Demon's Souls, and Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions all for free.

Well, I had a full month due to Winter Break. I rushed through Red Dead and AC: Brotherhood. I probably spent at most 2 weeks on that. Spiderman Shattered Dimensions took me like 3 days. Demon's Souls...I believe I logged 32 hours on my first play through. I died a lot, but it's all about being patient really =/.

I dunno, I consider myself pretty good in any game on average minus shooters. Like I actually got the Big Boss ranking in MGS4 lol.

But yeah, even after beating Demon's Souls, I still bought it due to how much I enjoyed the game. Also bought Valkyria Chronicles. That was a good 35 bucks spent.

You beat Demon Soul's in a month? You're either better at games that you give off or have way too much free time.
To be fair, using the bow and arrows on the litch (Moster with the schythe) in world 4 (past the first boss and where you see spirits that respawn), will allow you to kill it quick, and get a LOT of souls. Combine with the spell that lets you exit a stage without losing souls, repeat. You will level up like crazy.

That or they're trying to gear up for Wii 2.

It'll be interesting to see when Nintendo does decide to unveil their new console...will they opt for a graphical improvement, or more of a innovation once again? Perhaps a mix of both?
