You might be, but if thats only because no one in your area is any good, then it doesn't count for anything. Check my Sig for our tourney coming up in lower upstate NY.

No Phish-it it is a top 15-20 still. Also Phil Storms quit said he won't go so I am not keeping him on the list sorry bro.
Why don't you guys put together the entire list before releasing it? There's no point in releasing an incomplete list. Also, why are you guys making the points public knowledge? The only thing that should matter to everyone is the actual rankings. Points should stay behind the scenes, just like they do with the tier list.

That's the exact reason why I am #1 in such a large area, there IS NOBODY GOOD. I may actually consider driving that far down to Mahopac to check out some good comp. I'm moving out westish some more come august, so I'll get in on that action too.

The tournament isn't in Mahopac, it's in New Paltz, which is farther North.

Nintendude is right about the list though. Remember how much trouble the first "sample" list caused? Exactly.

I just noticed I'm 8th in the rankings. D*mn, I gotta move up. If I can't, its whatever. I'm happy that Warrior Knight is #3 and Ace Marth and Killafox are high too. Yay for my KF members. You guys are too cute.

DJ, i don't know y u 8th, u should be higher. its just thats the way the voting went...but im sure you'll move up within these next two months when we do the voting again.

oh yea, and little tourneys and biweeklies don't count as much as big tourneys do. me and my bro (ace_marth) have been taking all the biweeklies but we don't put those into account. biweeklies count only if u go to alot of them and u beat someone higher than u constantly (like more than 3 times)

:yoshi: Cornell has some great Smashers there.

One of their better ones is graduating, so I hope when you get there, you can be a good replacement. They're good guys, so you should enjoy it there.

ok who is manalord anyway????? if you are so good i know a bunch of people in rochester and in buffalo who play smash. some actually went to cat3 (they all placed basically the same at 33 which is good considering who attended.) so if you think that you are great go to tournys and prove it. unless you already do under a differnt name?

Very true.
Mana, U cant say you're very good without being able to prove yourself. Have you fought any good known players before? If so, who was it and how well did you do? Do you have any tourney experience? Not those cheap easy to win tourneys, i mean tourneys that people from other states or cities come to enter.

I heard of a few. There's Mario64Master, that old-school Stadium player, who's supposedly decent (probably because of tech-skill built up from btt and hrc). There's supposedly some really good Falcon player, and there's a guy who lives down the street from me named Colin who seems to use mainly Sheik and Fox.

lmao ppl I said OUTSIDE of those areas.

THERE ARE NO SMASHERS OUTSIDE OF THOSE AREAS.

I'm like the only one I've been able to find who's really into smash D:

xD

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

And when I mean "my area" I mean the above albany area, when I say upstate I mean hardcore upstate D:

Also, I'm going to SUNY Oswego come August (I got accepted and put in my deposit just gotta finalize and all that)... are there any smashers there?

You should come to albany and smash with us sometime ManaLord. It'd be good times.

NYC list looks fine to my limited knowledge. Just don't forget about those ownage WNY people when you get around to the Rest of NY list.

:yoshi: WNY suuuuuuuucks. The only list WNY needs to be on is the "sucks @ Smashlololol" list.

N64, hit me up on AIM. I need Pikachu tips, cuz you-know-who was being a **** thinking he could critique my Pikachu like he knows what the **** he's talking about.

I dont frequent this much, but there really should be just one power ranking list for all of NY, Instead of two lists. Due to the fact that well its just dumb to have 2 lists, if you want to be on the lists you should make an attempt to go to all tournaments. Inactivity=not on the list.

Also you are saying you are using a point system for ranks. Now is that based on people's opinions or what? For example just cuz I think Stars is better then so-so does that mean I can just give him a 10 and give the other person a 1? Because I'm just really confused about how you decide on who gets how many amounts of points.

Aren't all power rankings based off opinion? It's just that most peoples opinion is based off tournament placings victories etc. Which is why unbiased people are acceptable panelists.

I think One big list might make more sense in a way. Considering you attended the New Paltz tourney yesterday, which is farther from long island than NYC, yet you are still listed in the NYC rankings, because supposedly Long Island plays more with them. Meh, your probably right though, I think one list of say 20 people for all of New York would make more sense.

so if i can beat starz ill be 10th best in NYC. yo starz ill play u man. wednesdays and weekends im free.

That's not how it works. You'd have to beat me several times in tournaments, OR place higher than those above my ranking. But if you want to train sometime, my house is available this Wednesday. PM me for directions if you're interested.

no it works by you getting voted by on people it doesnt matter how well you place it just matters how good ppl think of you and how well they think you place, that's how the point system works.

I'm sort of free every day excluding Friday because of the weekly. Check the Brooklyknights thread; I'm trying to host a small smashfest.

And to Ryan: ;)

yall can take this how ya wanna take this.

and to everyone wonderin. u move up by beatin people higher than u or placin higher constantly, then when the next voting cycle comes along, we look at how well u did and how active u were and we decide to give u more points by putting u higher in the list.

It's funny how people can't just prove themselves in tournament by placing well and beating people higher than them. After you do that, you'll see that very nicely, you've most likely moved up in the list. I'm surprised when I found out I was 8th on the list. Now instead of me posting all this bullsh*t about my placing and such, I'm just gonna not give a f*ck and try to move up in the rankings by performing well in tournaments. If I can't move up or I get lower, than its whatever. I just know that I'm good. It's stupid to hear the same repetitive talk over and over.
