HOLY ****ING ****!!! IT'S 1337-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN AGES!

I've got so few people to play against besides my friends, and I know there are some good people on campus (ripple goes here, but he quit brawl basically), but I haven't been able to just practice and mess around, which I sorta need to do to test out some crazy jab techniques and jab-lock setups.
Haha, how's it going, Bro :bee: You better not be forgetting PSIMag. I've decayed in actual skill, but my mindreading is ****ing amazing. Jab-locks are so easy for me with ledge-slip now :p We gotta play again sometime. Convert some people into Smash, that's what I did here.

One of these days i will prove you wrong, Z'zgashi... One of these days...

*EDIT* OOOOOHHHH, I just checked! NOW I KNOW WHY THE GAME DEVELOPER REFERRED TO IVY AS A GIRL. It's basically because in the Japanese version Ivy was done with a girl voiceover, and that was changed in the western version.

IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE TO ME NOW.

I still think that western Ivy is boy, though, with an 87.5% chance of being correct.

It's also my birthday today! :D

I actually didn't know Ivy was a female until I was reading the match-up about it in the Peach thread :p

Anyways, happy birthday Luco! :)

Okay, so I'm contemplating bringing my Wii down to college after I go home for spring break. Do it or don't? I don't get wifi in my dorm room, but I get it some other places. OR I could buy an adapter for ethernet > USB like I've seen some other people do.
ORRrrrrrr........You can sell me the wii. :) and buy yourself some cool stuff.

I just rewatched some of the matches from my first tourney yesterday. Wow. I was nervous and it definitely shows. I was practically yelling at myself the whole time I was watching it at things should have/shouldn't have done. Oh well. Hopefully next time I'll be a little less nervous and learn from all the many mistakes I made.

Overall though, I had lots of fun at the tourney and definitely plan on attending more. :)

Perhaps I'll post the matches I had in the critique thread later if anyone'd be interested.

Do that.
At least you're getting the experience in a tournament experience. You can't get experience without doing anything. xD

I want to have you guys' opinion about that :

Yesterday I played one of my friends in a Ness Ditto match (just to see who's Ness is better). Despite the fact he mostly plays with items on, he still put up a good fight, even going as far as to almost win the match with a PKT2 (which I survived and I returned the PKT2 back at him :p).

At the results screen, while he was busy looking at something on the computer, I looked at the many stats (such as the launch speed, damages received/given, etc...) and something was clearly different between the two of us :

I used more aerial attacks than he did (101 vs 68, if my memory serves me right), while he used more grounded attack than I did. In top of that, he used 31 times a Smash Attack while I only did 6 !

Judging by these stats, the question I have for you guys is, which one of us has the more reliable playstyle ?

i think you'd get a faster response in the q & a section, but yours would be more reliable imo because using so many smashes stales like a mofo. then again, most of ness's kill moves are aerials. it depends on which moves were being executed most. I can fair 1000 times and still kill with a fresh uair, or i can up and downsmash 2000 times and still kill with my bat or other move, no what I mean? The quality of the playstyle can't always be based on stats, but maybe if you both played a large group of the same people and looked for consistency, that may help.

I see... My friend doesn't practice itemless matches as much as I do, which may be why his playstyle isn't as reliable than mine.

Pie's right, stats aren't always the best way to go unless you have a really large sample, and even then they can be deceptive. The best way to get constructive critique on your game is to post videos in the vids thread and people will comment on what you did right, what you did wrong and how you can improve :)

Speaking of which, I'll hopefully have a few vids up soon from SiD6 once Tin uploads them to CanadaBrawl so I can get some legitimate critique myself lol

That's what I've been thinking, but my matches are mainly online and even if I sometimes do offline, I can't record more than 3 minutes of replay (I can't make that hack working, for some reason :/ )
