Peach can GR CG to the ledge and I'm pretty sure she can AR Fair at the ledge after it... She is also hard to approach due to float cancel fairs and stuff. Super safe but dangerous edgeguarding with turnips!

IMO, Ness loses. -1 or 0

GW is overrated and not very hard. One of the easiest high tier matchups for Ness! You can uair his dairs, bait out fairs and bairs and beat nairs with pretty much every aerial. Approaching might be more difficult tho. Offstage sounds awful but you recover by saving DJ as always ;) He actually has hard time killing Ness even with the super strong smashes if you play safe

When I fair, he shields and grabs... you mean retreating Fair I assume?
Your only viable move is fair and FH PKF. you're not going to run at him and dash-grab/shield-grab, sh nair/uair/bair/dair, PKT1/2, PK Flash, or PSImag lol.

You can space fair so you don't get shield grabbed, and R.O.B.'s shield SUCKS so shield poke him because its super super small rob sucks lellelelel

OoS retreating Nair is actually an ok option.

But after playing Nido again, it's not as bad as I thought. It requires retreating Fairs and you have to play the 'don't get grabbed game' hard as all heck but it works.

A solid -2 IMO IF you know what you're doing. Inexperience makes that MU a -3. ><

Was talking to yink, she says the Ness:ROB MU is 0. Just felt like a -2 the way I was playing. I'll be looking at it again....

Uthrow is useful in some situations.

U-Throw can help set-up a PKT2, or simply for getting the opponent above you. It can also be a nice mix-up, and if you feel B-throw won't kill but you're close, you could U-throw instead of doing a F-Throw. Not much else to it though. :p

Yea, you just have to space your attacks properly, something I never really had to worry about before this MU. It's made my matches with other chars a lot easier.

Oh uhh, I haven't versed a great sheik but since her needles act like Ness' PKF in the air, it might be best to approach her from there. Then just space a bunch of Fair and other aerials and keep her on her toes?

Also why doesn't ryuka's Ftilt lock work on me? I can SDI my way out on like the fourth/fifth hit and avoid the smash. >.>

I've been recently playing Snake. I have a hard time trying to figure out how to approach and successfully attack him.

Problems:

1. When I attack, Snake usually pulls out grenade and interrupts my attacks, whether it be N-air, F-air (especially), or pretty much any move.
2. They often attack themselves to hurt you in the process since Snake can endure much longer than you can.
3. Grab release into a d-tilt often resulting in death.

Anyone have any tips? :)

I presume u mean GR > U-tilt

all you do in this mu is camp (if you can)
practice making the grenades blow up before they hit u with the PKT tail and punish snake with the head

Which way do you SDI Zelda's U-Smash? And how about her F-Smash?
I know it's hard to SDI since its SDI Multiplier is like 0.25 (or 0.50) IIRC but it's still nice to know which way to SDI. :p

1. Space your attacks so that they wont hit the nades. Its easy when you get the hang of it.

2. In what situations? If he goes stupid with it, just let him attack himself and avoid it.

3. Find out ways to avoid the uptilt without shielding because sitting in shield is exactly what Snakes want vs Ness at higher percents.

Try to remain safe but relatively close to Snake when approaching or looking for openings and mess up with his shielding or shoot some FH PK Fires on him when he IS TAKING nade in hand. They should be safe if you dont get predictable with it. If they shield it, its ok. If it hits, he blows up, thats when you wreck him up with juggling and edgeguarding.
If you have a stock lead or comfortable % lead, try to trick him with PKT from safe distance (preferrably on platforms). A nice hit or low shield are chances to capitalize with punishing landing or shield poking.

Neat trick if he doesnt like cooking and misses the grenade drop: Instant throw nade right into him and force him to shield with PKT. You could poke his shield, he blows up. Or just make him have low shield when its time to dance around his shield and maybe poke it.

Remember to mix-up your landings after the FH PK Fire.

I want to ask a question...

How can I become a better Ness? I train by going on Training Mode and doing some of the moves in that PK Cross guide. And I go on AiB to Brawl people, but I feel like my Ness isn't getting any better. Sometimes I want to give up on Ness and main someone else, but I don't because Ness is my favorite character and I don't want to give up on him. Can anyone please give me some training tips for getting better with Ness? :/

Iirc you have to DI a weird way to get out of zelda's Usmash. You can actually get under it and duck the rest of it and you won't get hit, or something like that. It's weird.

Also, I tested AD and jumping from magnet off-stage. Neither work (at least for me).

@Jibaku: Don't worry, your main problem is probably that you're playing with CPUs. Go to a tournament and see how you do. Play against real people, see what happens, practice with the knowledge you get (trust me, you get SOOOO much out of a tournament), try again, do better (unless you stop practicing, this is almost guaranteed), repeat!

The communication with other players is amazing. Plus you get to meet some really top players, isn't ESAM a Florida PRer?

I can't go to tournaments. My parents won't let me... But thanks for the tip, I want to join tournaments in the future, when I finally get a car. :p

I wanna enter tournaments but I'm not really that good yet and I don't know if there are any tournaments near my area/where to find them.

In Smash World Forums, go to 'regional zones', then look until you find your area and look for a name you recognize.

One of the big ideas behind tournaments, surprisingly, doesn't lie in how good you are. It's a learning experience and it's about fun, finding out what works, getting better. Don't worry about how good/bad you are, just focus on the fun and you'll be alright. ;)

It's hard to notice your own improvement since its a long and slow process. Its like your face. You dont really notice anything changing if you see it daily, but if you check out a two-year-old picture of you, you can clearly see the difference. Just be patient and try to play a lot.

Yeah, thanks. My school recently held a tournament where about 30 people showed up. In all reality, from what I saw, I was among the top 4 best players there but I placed around 16th or so because of a G&W that I couldn't really deal with (a combination of that and nerves + not playing my best). Any tips for this matchup? (and marth/toon link as I asked before)

Yeah, I often get carried away with having fun, because tournament winnings = $ My mind is set to win that $, but I end up just playing and losing. Thus, it causes me to really lose my self thought. These problems are the worst, because it's something that the person themselves has to deal with. It really sucks, but once you try and focus on what's really important, you'll learn and have fun at the same time with no negatives in the end (cliche I know).
