Didnt watch a single second of GF, but congrats on second place though.

If u liked watching that, you:

A. Are Lying
B. Play some gay floaty low tier
C. Enjoy watching dieminion play AE
Damnit, I play Luigi...
TBH I liked it because I know Armada personally. Probably wouldn't have watched it if it was two Americans, but then again, I don't watch much smash anyway.

It's because Ylink isnt as a terrible character as everyone thinks.
It's gonna be just like how everyone thinks Pikachu should be higher because of Axe. (And he should, I think)
Ylink is legit <3

Weren't AE finals just Sagat vs Guile? Lol at least YLink vs Puff is speedy and the characters are constantly moving all over the place.

Haters: Get over it, guys. It's Jigglypuff vs. Young Link with $3,000 on the line. Sorry for wanting to win.

Friends and People who understand: You're what keeps me playing.

Armada: Good sets, my friend.

Apex 2012 was great.

I dont remember, but the timer is shorter for every other fighting game, so if people lame it out is significantly less lame because the timer saves it from being 30 minute set x 2.

@ AJP luigi is not gay and secretly the best character, so ur an exception.

You know what you should do? Go ask the Young Link boards how to beat them. (I'm assuming the Young Link boards actually exist)

I liked when you camped him on Dreamland in the first set. 'Cause on that stage, it actually works. On small stages you were doing much better going more aggro and trying to get grabs and stuff. On Yoshi's and FD you can sorta kinda catch him...on Dreamland, no chance, so don't even bother.

what i find funny is that armada still goes yl when by now his skill level is that superior that he can beat hbox most likely by going peach again, even though making the matchup extremely in mr backairs favor.
LOL glad youre back to trolling

I don't think you understand... It's RONEBLASTER.

In all seriousness though, I loved grand finals. Great job HBox, you have proven yourself once again and went 1-1 in sets against the unstoppable Young Link. It makes sense that you want to win, everybody wants to win, you know?

Also, of course, beating Mango, Javi and other big names along the way.

it is unwinnable. peach literally has only one option to approach, the turnip pull. jiggs can bair through turnips so the approach isnt even safe. peach nair has no range at all, the crown has decent range but extreme start up lag. peach doesnt have oos options since jiggs can aim his bair back again (called spacing). i also dont know of how capable hbox is to hold the control stick away, but if he is peach cant also get combo strings off. and dont forget jiggs utilt rest as an easy kill move.

also hbox didnt approach, examine the vids more carefully.
I know its not good but I've heard Peach mains that think its winnable and other than resting its not like Peach is super easy for Puff to kill either. Also if Puff tries to space bair on shield I'm pretty sure (not 100% though, don't main either of them) Peach can wavedash out and reset to neutral which would be an OoS option (just not amazing like her usual options are). And uptilt rest does not always work on Peach at all with DI because she's floaty, how often do you see Peach get uptilt->rested because I don't know that I've ever seen it. Still not a good matchup for Peach by any means, but I would hardly say unwinnable. I don't think anyone in the top 8 has an unwinnable matchup.

And also I didn't know that nairing through Armada's projectiles and coming through to nair young link wasn't considered an approach lol. I think you need to watch the vids or redefine for yourself what an approach is.

Thx for the Javi vs Mango matches I really enjoyed them. I have no doubt that you are a really cool guy hbox, even though I dont really like to watch YL vs Puff as GF. Nevertheless Apex was epic and I can't wait to see all the vids. Just continue to beat all your haters, eventually they will stfu.

I really enjoyed watching Mangro vs Armada at Genesis and Hbox vs Armada's Peach, YL is kind of a boring character to watch since no one plays him and nothing he does looks cool, but I can really appreciate the spacing and mindgames going on by both players.

I think the level of play is beautiful and fun to watch regardless of which characters are involved.

First off, I gotta say hungrybox, i really enjoy watching your matches. The spacing, decision making, rest set-ups are all awesome to watch. While I wasn't happy with the GF, I know it wasn't your fault (and neither was it Armada's fault) but I really hope you figure out something to do against it. I'm of the opinion that Jigglypuff can win that match up, but it's clear to me that out-camping YL isn't the best strategy, mostly due to YL's projectile game.

While I know Jigglypuff doesn't have an aggressive style by nature, I think you can adapt an aggressive style in this match up that can work. There's only so much space YL can work with to use those projectiles...it might be worth messing around with. Plus, although pretty irrelevant imo, it would be a much more "fun" set to watch.

And Peach vs. Jigglypuff isn't unwinnable for Peach, just ask DoH. Just as I think Hbox can figure out what to do against Armada's YL with Jigglypuff, I think Armada can figure out what to do against Hbox's Jigglypuff with Peach, if the YL match up becomes too tough to deal with.

Just my two cents, IMO.

It's funny how HBox is constantly underrated when people talk about the best players in the USA and also worldwide. If Apex is any indication (not to mention all his prior accomplishments) HBox is the best player in America. All performance and no hype.

If anything armada should be the one people should be upset with. Watching him throw **** for like a hour was super lame. SMH@ people upset with your play style.
No, because armada isnt generally a defensive campy player, his peach is known for its edgeguards aggressive comboes. But these don't work on jiggz, especially very bair heavy players

HB always plays exactly the same way with jiggz, has the crowd ever really enjoyed watching him? But armada, he has fun games :)

You're only asking that because the word "camping" carries such negative connotations. I meant no offense, but I think we can both agree, at least, that you are a patient player ;)
I just don't think comboing and edgeguarding somehow excludes camping, although they naturally can't happen at the same time.

I asked cause camping and defensive are two different things. And yeah Im a patient player in a lot of situations but I honestly think people underrate my offensive style in certain situations just because Im not a spacie.

This. Times ten. The two are really different. Comparing defensive to campy is like comparing his Peach to his Young Link.

Yeah ok I guess it's more like the difference between waiting for your opponent to apporach and keeping your opponent from attacking. Point taken.

It should be said that I have no disdain for camping whatsoever (except when people do it to me bwahahah).

Hbox, For starters I just wanted to say it was a pleasure to meet you, especially when you did the light show in the Arizona/Canada/Florida room/ Oh My God, hilarious... and a true talent.

Also, true enough, that grand finals was not the most entertaining in the world, but it was a good display of zoning, spacing and sheer intelligence. Congratz on second place, thats still an incredible feat, considering people had you pegged at 4th/5th.

Next time let KirbyK win though ;) <--Just kidding, fair is fair, fight to the death etc etc.
