He just seems like an annoying character who's totally unnecessary for the show. Like a lot of the stuff he does wouldn't fit in well IMO.
I feel like I'm hating him already.

Also when reading it, main cast of seven? I'm guessing Spike is the seventh main cast, which wouldn't make sense since he's actually a side character.

indeed, spyro was one of my favourite games as a kid

sadly, hes in teh boat with sonic and crash bandicoot in the trolley of 'protagonists of series that used to be amazing, but never reached their potential in later gens'

Spike's appearance is amazingly similar to Spyro's. I've never played a Spyro game, so I cannot judge further, sadly.

Spyro's recent games have actually been decent. Just nothing to brag about. It's the Spyro games that occurred pre-reboot and post-Year of the Dragon that were simply god-awful.

Also, the only similarity between Spyro and Spike is that they're both purple, and dragons. I don't see how Spike would be based on him simply because of that. They look nothing alike besides the fact that they're both, well, dragons. You also can't say Spike was based off of Spyro when considering the fact that Spike technically has been around longer than Spyro has.

Spyro the Dragon is the first.
Spyro the Dragon: Ripto's Rage is the second.
Spyro the Dragon: Year of the Dragon is the third.

Then you have the terrible Spyro games:
-Enter the Dragonfly
-A Hero's Tail
-Shadow Legacy.

Then came the reboot, the games of which have been decent, but not "amazing" by any stretch of the imagination:

-A New Beginning
-The Eternal Night
-Dawn of the Dragon

And now you have that Skylander Spyro game. Doesn't look like it's gonna be much fun, but heck, I could be wrong. You also have the spin offs like the Seasons games for GBA, and the Crash/Spyro crossovers.
