The winner is either Nicole or the Nicole/ensis tag team (since that was a very popular choice) xD
Nicole and Ensis: Decide what you two wanna do. If you don't want to tag team, Nicole gets a solo interview.

Well, are we sure about how the rules are going to work on this tag team thing? One way would be that they just alternate on questions. Like, Ensis does the first one, then Nicole, etc. This would be interesting if people intend a question for one person, then get sniped by someone else.

Or, they could choose amongst themselves who answers what questions, then you don't know who will answer your question.

There's probably lots of other ways to do it, too!

i'm just gonna answer questions i want to answer and ensis can answer questions that he wants to answer. if we both want to answer the same one we will, and if one or the other wants to answer then we wont. you guys can direct questions to us if you want only one of us to answer (but idk why anyone would want that, it'll be less interesting/fun).

as to your question infern:

so i had to think about this one cause i'm not sure who would be on our crew or yours entirely. if the crews were set up like this (which is who i would put on each crew)...

EAST:
shugo :falco:/:metaknight:
kel :metaknight:
ybm :kirby:/:zerosuitsamus:
infern :snake:
krys :wario:
AZ :diddy:
fizzle :dedede:/:metaknight:/:popo:
dj skribz :metaknight:
blue rogue :wario:
count or fonz :diddy: or :lucario:/:metaknight:

WEST:
ensis :toonlink:
fino :olimar:
future :popo:
mr. doom :ike:
holms :wolf:
domo :metaknight:
hylian :popo:
zeton :fox:
me i guess :peach:
clel :metaknight:

I ignored IL, WI and MI cause I have no idea whether they are east or west. they both attend some of our tourneys and some of yours. they have their own central tourneys in WI, MI, and IL so i dont know that either east or west can lay claim to them.

OK.
I don't know who the last person would be on your crew. Whatever. Anyways if the crews were like that...I think that either crew has a good chance of winning. You guys do have more high tiers but we have two very good ICs (ICs happening to be very good in crews), two very good and underrated MKs that you've never heard of, and some other random character mains who probably know how to play against your chars much better than you know how to play against theirs.

As for you guys, you are already known as established players and many of you have placed well at nationals, whereas MW:W only has ensis who can claim that. you consistently play with good players and are able to have more tournaments and more smashfests with EVERYONE in the state, where MO & KS have to drive about 5 hours to get to each other. i could argue that the skill gaps between our good people are larger than the skill gaps between yours, and that you guys have more top players than us.

This is a gay answer but I think it could go either way. I think East may have a slight advantage (55:45) over west, because of tiers and a few of MW:W chars having trouble actually taking stocks (toon link and peach of course aren't good for that). however I think our ICs could easily make up for that.

tl:dr East has a slightly better chance. But it could go either way. It's something I'd definitely like to see happen.

PS: that would have been impossible to answer on video

INKY, OH, and MI are MW:E

MO, IO, IL, MN, WI are MW:W... i think.

Ima goign to do general questions for both players...

How long have you been in the smash scene? What was your first tournament?

What is the farthest tournament you have traveled to?

Funniest smash story ever?

Favorite Starburst color?

What would win in a fight: A giant eagle or a lion of the same size?

Yeah MI is East for sure, I would say the same for IL, but im not 100% sure. However with MI, we would also have Judge and Lain, 2 more powerhouses. But cool detailed answer, so cool :)

How long have you been in the smash scene? What was your first tournament?
My first tournament was in Kirksville MO (which is a terrible place) at Kit & Jordan's house (i doubt anyone remembers Kit & Jordan, but they played Wario and GW and were best known as "team real team"). I played Game and Watch then. I got last. I think I lost to a ROB and a Snake. I think that was in Jan 2009. I got the game in like May 2008 but I wasn't able to play against anyone real for a long time.

What is the farthest tournament you have traveled to?
Apex 2010.

Funniest smash story ever?
omg. TOOOOOOO many. pretty much anything that involves tournament after-parties is golden though. apex had some hellarious moments, but then so did both Kahoka MO tournaments (which are excellent parties and anyone who likes to smash and drink should be in attendance even though they are in the middle of nowhere).

actually i will tell a funny one from apex
So everyone that got knocked out of the second round of pools and a handful of people that didn't decided to party on Saturday. So that goes down and the night is winding down. I am crunk beyond belief and somehow make it back to my hotel room. I get there and I realize I have to pee, so I do that. I pass out in the middle of the floor.
The next morning, I hear the stories of other people. Future says that he had been lying under the sink in the bathroom all night (awake) crying about breaking his phone while Kira Flax watched him and ate some chicken that he found around 3am on the floor. We put our stories together and realized that we were definitely in the bathroom at the same time even though we don't remember it.
Also Mango got carried into our hotel room and puked everywhere so that the cops wouldn't catch him for being underage.
THE END.

Favorite Starburst color?
red or pink.

What would win in a fight: A giant eagle or a lion of the same size?
I think the eagle would time him out.

In all honesty, who do you believe would win between MW:W and MW:E 10v10 crew battle?
I am not sure as to who all would go out for the MW:E in a crew battle vs our region. To be honest, I think that the MW:E would BARELY win but our side of the midwest would definitely put up a fight (as Nicole stated earlier). I feel like our ICs would help a lot as well. That is something that I would like to do in the near future though.

How long have you been in the smash scene? What was your first tournament?
I have been in the smash scene since early 09. One of my old crewmates (Stealth Raptor) told me that I should come to their smashfests when he played me on wifi and that is how I was introduced to the competitive smash scene.
My very first tournament was a Kansas bi-weekly. I placed 5th and I lost to Clel's MK in winners (when all he did was down smash LOL) and to Fino's olimar.

What is the farthest tournament you have traveled to?
The furthest tournament that I have traveled to is easily Supercon 2010 in Denver, CO. That road trip took forever on the way to Denver and back to Kansas. It was an 8 hour trip to be exact (such ****ing bull ****)

Funniest smash story?
There are too many good ones to name..Here is a funny/interesting smash trip out to supercon if anyone is interested in reading it: http://allisbrawl.com/blogpost.aspx?id=81625

The funniest smash story that I can think of took place in Kahoka (middle of nowhere), MO.

After the tournament was over, we decided to have a drunk crew battle, which consisted of KS vs MO. People who were knocked out (and myself) started drinking before the tournament was over and then proceeded to drink even more after the tournament. Well...this tournament's events that took place prove that some people shouldn't be drinking too much :bee:.

Before the crew battle was over (the crew battle that KS dominated in), I was laying on the ground... laughing at all the stupid **** that I did during the crew battle (like spike Hylian with TOON LINK :bee:) when I hear Nicole scream "DRUNK FUTURE VS DRUNK ZETON". I get up and immediately, all you see is a drunk black man (remember, black people are naturally fast) chasing a drunk future around the venue until he finally tackles him.

I end up getting tired and I look around the venue and I say to myself "Hey, this air mattress (or w/e it was) looks comfortable. I go over to lay on it and then I later realize that it is Nicole/Cook's mattress. I didn't give a **** at that point because I was still intoxicated/tired as hell and I just laid there. Later, nicole comes over because she is tired and cook shows up about 10-20minutes later and tells me that he is going to "pick me up and move me." Well...I start talking to nicole about random crap after cook leaves and I am pretty sure that I just fell asleep while nicole was still talking...Sure enough, cook wasn't BSing when he said that he was going to move me. I found myself sleeping under a table with just my jacket (it was cold as hell).

The End.

Favorite Starburst color?
Orange...I also like to do other "fun" things with Starburst ;)

What would win in a fight: A giant eagle or a lion of the same size?
An eagle would win because he never has to come down after he gets a few hits in. This is also my strategy for brawl :bee:

what made you pick up peach/toon link?

(directed @ both)
I didn't pick up peach because she is a dumb character. I actually wanted to use young link from melee since I used him the most in that game. When I found out that he wasn't returning, I was disappointed, but one of my friends told me that "Toon Link" was going to be in brawl and at first I go "Who the **** is Toon Link?"...Like others before brawl's release date, I checked the smash dojo frequently and I finally saw a picture of Toon Link and I remembered that he was from "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker". As soon as I unlocked Toon Link, which took me about 2-3 days, I started using him immediately.

What is your training routine before tourneys(if you have any)?
Before tournaments, I usually play against lvl 9s (lol). For about a month or so, I haven't been able to play brawl since I need a SD card (which broke) and a USB loader for my wii since my disc reader is broken and I dont use a wii mote to start up brawl.

Do you plan on coming to Kiest's tournament on the 26th? http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=293476
Epic picture for the OP. Nope.

Who is going to win Pound 5?
I am. Duh.

...

Ally is probably going to win Pound. I hope Gnes, dojo, razer, atomsk, kingtoon, and fino do well.

Are you a furry? :3
No.

Do you whip your hair back and forth?
Hell ya.

Not like this though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YuLwJPhvYA

Lol, by the time I went to bed it was hella late and I was super tired so I did just literally pick you up and put you down, then you just crawled away, haha.

Question: You guys both play mid-tiers. How viable do you feel your characters are/where do you think they should be on the tier list? Are there any matchups where you feel that when you win it's only because the other player doesn't know how to play the matchup correctly, or do you think that your characters can win any matchup?

Directed at both of you. In terms of overall play, how do you personally feel the Midwest stacks up compared to the rest of the country? Where do you see us as a region in the future?

What do you personally think your best wins were? Your most disappointing losses?

How would you describe the atmospheres at tournaments between the two sides of the Midwest?

Are you inspired by any fellow Midwester? This could be in smash or just in general.

Who are your rivals?

I'm gonna be at pound for a few days so I won't be answering any questions for a little while. I'll catch up when I get back, so continue asking whatever you want answered.

what made you pick up peach/toon link?

(directed @ both)
I've never picked up Toon Link because he's ugly and not proportional in the least. I hate looking at him.

I picked up Peach cause I used to play her in melee. I played Peach from the beginning but I didn't like her as much and I didn't use her seriously ever. I mained GW for about a year and did terrible. I didn't really care that much about changing characters, but when I started using Peach I realized that I had alot more fun with her and she fit my playstyle better. I started doing much better as well. She really just fits my style well and I doubt I could do much better with anyone else (although I could probably be almost as good as I am with Peach with Diddy...but I've got something to prove with Peach now).

My questions will be for both:

What is your training routine before tourneys(if you have any)?

Do you plan on coming to Kiest's tournament on the 26th? http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=293476

Who is going to win Pound 5?

Do you whip your hair back and forth?
I just play alot with my crew basically. If they're not around then I play with Cook who is the only other smasher that lives in my city. Even though he knows my style and tricks and all that bs I still manage to win sometimes and I think it helps me to play against the same guy to a point because it forces me to do different things. I play against MK alot.

I doubt it. I think Future is doing something that weekend.

Gnes maybe, maybe Ally, maybe M2K. I'd like to see Atomsk or Coney win but that won't happen :c

Can't say that I am.

Nah dawg. Nah.

Who are your rivals?
MW is just as good as every other region. Our only problem is that we have no standout players. I have been to the EC for a visit and I have played many players from different regions at nationals. Our typical player is every bit as good as any other region's typical player, and our "good" players are just as good as their "good" ones as well. But we have no top players that have a shot at winning or placing top 8 at nationals CONSISTENTLY. Shugo is our closest guy. And he's one guy for our entire region.
I don't know how much this will change in the future, but we do have alot of potential. There seems to be something that is holding a couple of our players that I think COULD be national threats down. Hylian, Ensis, Judge, Lain, AZ, Kel, Krys, Kain, and many more players in our region are at THAT level, and it's so close to being serous threats at big tournaments. I don't know who (or if anyone) will breakout.

My best win was an MM over Dphat, who hasn't ever lost to a Peach and has a lot of experience in the MU. My best win for my personal playing improvement was over Affinity, because I haven't lost to an MK since I was finally able to beat him.

Disappointing losses: definitely Fino (our most recent set), I would have had him if it were only 2 games, and I finally made it to finals and I choked as usual. Also anytime I have to play Cook in bracket because it's an automatic loss and it's they gayest thing to have to play him at 100+ man tournaments every single time I attend a 100+ man tournament.

I mean they're about the same. The only difference is that I'm usually at really large tournaments in the East while in the West they are smaller. Both regions are chill and I enjoy chatting with players from both sides.

OMG NAMESEARCH.
At smash I'm inspired by Holms, Mr. Doom, Zeton, Ensis, Kain, Coney (idc if he isn't MW), San, Nick Riddle, TKD, Reflex, Will, and Ally cause I like watching him play. Besides him though, they're all mid tier mains who have made names for themselves in my region and some across the country. I love seeing them do well with flawed characters and I hope to be as good and make that kind of a name for myself someday.

I don't know that I really have any rivals. I guess other Peaches. We all fight for the title of best Peach. No one has it yet because we're all pretty bad.

Question: You guys both play mid-tiers. How viable do you feel your characters are/where do you think they should be on the tier list? Are there any matchups where you feel that when you win it's only because the other player doesn't know how to play the matchup correctly, or do you think that your characters can win any matchup?
I think Peach should be a little higher but she's about right. The problem with her is that she is better on paper. In practice it's very hard for a player to be patient enough and focused enough to win a tournament. I do think she is very capable of winning a tournament, even a large one, possibly even a national. She doesn't have any unwinnable matchups and 40:60 is perfectly manageable, and that is the worst she has.

I think Peach can win any matchup but I certainly have an easier time against players that don't know the MU. But I don't ever feel like it is my character's fault that I lose. I have alot of mental blocks that keep me down. I never attribute a loss to Peach.

It's much harder to win against heavy characters that know the MU. They are hard to kill and you have to be even more patient against them. DDD, DK, Snake, etc. I feel that the first two are totally even but I think the Peach PLAYER has more trouble because of her one crushing flaw (no kill power).

Good Luck. Rep the midwest

Directed at both of you. In terms of overall play, how do you personally feel the Midwest stacks up compared to the rest of the country? Where do you see us as a region in the future?
-I feel like the midwest doesn't get a chance to rep their region as much but I also feel like some regions/areas like NY/NJ, TX and SoCal are better than our region.

-It seems like we have new and upcoming players every month. I look forward to players like Sparta Kick and L_Cancel doing well. I feel like the only issue with our region (and this is more directed towards the MW:W) is that we don't get to fight against :metaknight: and more top tier characters frequently.

What do you personally think your best wins were? Your most disappointing losses?
Ah...My best wins were probably against Lain, Havok, MVD, CO18 and Fatal. My most disappointing losses? Well, since Supercon 2010, I have actually had a "nonchalant" attitude towards the game and I only get mad at losses when I know that I lost because of something that I did or because of something that I failed to do. This isn't too bad but getting screwed over by my boomerang is never fun. An example of this would be vs kain at brainshock, even though he probably would have won the set anyways (at that moment ;)). I saw Kain charging a down smash and by muscle memory, I threw my boomerang near the ledge to prevent him from hitting me. The boomerang not only hits kain but it goes through kain, hits the stage, which in-turn, causes the boomerang to bounce back and hit kain again and he was able to grab the ledge lol.

Tbh, the only loss since supercon where I was legitimately upset (and I actually gave up) vs Atomsk @ MLG Dallas. I wanted to place top 8 SO badly at that point since I didn't expect to do so well and I ended up dairing off stage game 3 because I knew I couldn't beat him...and I never will.

How would you describe the atmospheres at tournaments between the two sides of the Midwest?
I have never been to the MW:E side...judging from what I have heard, the MW:E seems like any other "chill" smash scene. Some of the tournament matches over in the MW:W get a RIDICULOUS amount of hype (even when the match isn't that amazing lol) and I love the MW:W for that :bee:

Are you inspired by any fellow Midwester? This could be in smash or just in general.
No but Quivo's TL struck me of interest before I went offline. It was a style that I no other TL had and I just thought he was amazing. The only player that really inspires me is Lee Martin. I never wanted to play MK but his play style with MK (and his play style in general) is the reason why I picked up MK. I would compare myself to him in the sense that our play styles are similar but I am not as good as him.

This is actually my favorite brawl match ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvSYz9TYaMQ

Who are your rivals?
Domo, Atomsk, Holms and Hylian.

Forgot to answer this lol

My character is tourney viable IMO and I am content with his place on the tier list. In regards to MUs for TL, the MU tips in TLs favor (I guess this could be said for most of the cast) when he takes the first stock. A perfect example would be falco vs TL. Each character is going to deal chip damage before they can take the kill and once falco takes the kill from TL, he won't care if TL camps against him since projectiles won't kill and vice versa for TL.

TL probably gets held back by MK but like I said, he just needs the first kill for him to stand a chance. The biggest issue in that MU is losing momentum. If you mess up once, its going to be hard to rebound. With that being said, MK doesn't necessarily have to have the MU down to a science. As long as he can read TLs patterns and gimp him fairly early, MK can seal the deal.

@Nicole: How would you rate me as a player?

When am I gonna see you again? :(

Joke questions aside

@Both:When you think of the midwest-east, what person do you think of? Who would you put in our top 10? Which area of our region do you think has more character diversity?

If you could have any player from Midwest-East become a Midwest-West regular, who would it be and why?

Think about this for a second. use your imagination. You're walking through a forest. Everything is fine and dandy. All of a sudden BEAR UWAHHHHHH! Oh wait. What type of bear is it?

In the Peach vs Toonlink matchup, who do you think wins it and why?

@Nicole: Not including yourself, which Peach do you think has the most potential to be a successful player?

@MJG: Not including yourself, which Toon Link do you think has the most potential to be a successful player?

@Both: Not including yourself or one another, which player do you think has the most potential to be a successful player in the midwest-west region?

What's your favorite region to be in?

How many midwest-east tournaments have you two been to? How would you describe the events? Fun? Annoying? How do you feel about our TO's?

Do you two feel like brawl's metagame is still in the making, or do you all feel like that it's pretty much done for? Why?

How much room do you think you have for improvement? Where can you improve in your game?

Hail to the King, Baby
When it comes to being a good player, how much have the character boards here and smashboards in general actually helped in terms of character and matchup knowledge? Do either of you just wing it and never really read/contribute to the boards?
