Not all, of course, at least ADHD and a few.Why are the diddy players mad?
Re-discussing our infraction system is on our to-do list lulz.Unless 10 people get yellow carded, I should be supporting Unity![]()
I totally 100% agree with you but I bet 9001 people will troll you by saying that ditto'ing MK is necessary.Ya usually for a character that merits a ban.. is usually the only way to beat him is by choosing the same character. MK is nowhere near like that.
lol wait 4 the attendance to rise.you guys are destroying this game
Doubt it, his wario is amazingAlly will probably go back to snake now. Mk was great character![]()
Apex is a solid time enforce the ban as a whole. It's about 3 and a half months away so it gives plenty of people time to get ready for the change, as well as giving time some transition time in between (having MK legal and ban tournaments at the same time). Also, we know that a lot of people wouldn't be following it anyway and we want what's best for the community. Since Apex will be MK legal it's important to know that people will still want practice in an MK legal environment.I have some question.
Question one Why is the BBR waiting until APex to enforce the MK ban.
Question two has there been any stage or rule changes since the MK ban.
I'm not too sure if the community listens to casuals more so than any other community most of the people in the BBR are tourney players or TO's. The decision to ban MK i think is a good decision however, I wonder how you can ban MK with out re opening a discussion for stages. If anything I believe the BBR was influenced more by top players.
Heh.. well smashboards is troll city after all.. People will troll any chance they get and its ****ing sad.I totally 100% agree with you but I bet 9001 people will troll you by saying that ditto'ing MK is necessary.
****ing smashboards.
Some stages that I could see being brought back Luigi's Mansion, Norfair, Jungle Japes. I really could care less about ps2.Re-discussing our infraction system is on our to-do list lulz.
About adding stages though...the community can't even swallow having PS2, I don't see how they'd accept any other stages sadly. The worst part was MK wasn't even dominant on PS2, so it wasn't an "MK is too good here" problem...it was just a "most of the community doesn't want to learn this easy stage."
He's also pretty much destroying the community.Ya usually for a character to merit a ban.. is usually the only way to beat him is by choosing the same character. MK is nowhere near like that.
I don't think it's trolling when people say that the ditto is necessary though.
That's simply because a lot of people don't want to learn a tough matchup.I don't think it's trolling when people say that the ditto is necessary though. This is what people believe and it's sometimes hard to argue it. Especially when you see a lot of dittos at high levels of play.
Beyond this Apex is the most important thing to the community in terms of publicity. I think it is more important to our community and create our own International tournament that is on the level of MLG presentationApex is a solid time enforce the ban as a whole. oh and, no not yet, we wanted to get the MK ban out of the way before we do anything. It was quite a hassle to get everything worked out with this rule change with just MK being banned. We also didn't want too many big changes to the ruleset all at one time.
Why would people still be playing MK by then if he's banned?I think I am being a little selfish though. When I look at this I think about Apex 2013 and all the OOC people coming. Do I keep MK banned for that? Or do I break the mold again. This is something I think about greatly not just for my turnouts but for sponsors and everything that people do not think about except very few leaders ( AZ , me , chibo, etc ). I like to look beyond the game and focus on how to make our community better with things like that. I want to see the japanese return and the euros as well too. That is my mission/goal.
This guy plays GANONDORF in Melee. That's simply because a lot of people don't want to learn a tough matchup.
It's the most easy way of learning. We all prefer shortcuts to be pro. That's simply because a lot of people don't want to learn a tough matchup.
Because smash is a game made for fanboys.. you don't necessarily want to play MK because he simply isn't your style. Why learn a tough matchup when you can have the most even matchup in the game with the best character in the game?
Why would people still be playing MK by then if he's banned?
Except for OOC, but with them being the only MK players, they'll beat NA even worse! :O
This is true as well, if we had done the MK ban immediately Apex attendance could have been hurt which will hurt the community which is the complete opposite of what we want.Beyond this Apex is the most important thing to the community in terms of publicity. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. It's sad really. He's also pretty much destroying the community.
lol veetaakHello brawl forum :>
Heard you liek mudkip but not Metaknight
I still think the announcement should of been left until after the fact. But that is just how I feel regarding my event and what is best for it.This is true as well, if we had done the MK ban immediately Apex attendance could have been hurt which will hurt the community which is the complete opposite of what we want.
Yes, but if MK is banned in US and nobody plays him, then OOC will be the only ones using him. Which results in ****.I wrote that he wont be legal again in the US. For me though, I am thinking beyond the US cause I do events for the world and not the US. I am thinking about things beyond that.
Of course that's not the case, and that's not the reason he was banned. It's a combination of problems. We had to add multiple surgical rules JUST FOR MK to be legal, and even then, he still is in need of more. His worst MU is himself, even if he's technically beatable by player error or lack of MU knowledge by the MK users. You'd be surprised how many times a low tier can take out MKs that don't know the MU. But once they learn it...it goes back to a 70:30.Ya usually for a character to merit a ban.. is usually the only way to beat him is by choosing the same character. MK is nowhere near like that.

**** where?Yes, but if MK is banned in US and nobody plays him, then OOC will be the only ones using him. Which results in ****.
US will get ***** when nobody knows the match-up anymore.I understand that.
Maybe I do not understand what you are trying to say ^^;;.
I'm not sure how many tourneys are going to be there in the mean while however, I guess it's best to allow people to get used to whats going to come of this. MK being banned from APEX would hurt things (although I don't Alex would ban him)Apex is a solid time enforce the ban as a whole. It's about 3 and a half months away so it gives plenty of people time to get ready for the change, as well as giving time some transition time in between (having MK legal and ban tournaments at the same time). It would of been nice to get some massive updates that way we'd be able to know what we're dealing. Also if you banned MK right now we'd be able to get a better feel for the next metagame.oh and, no not yet, we wanted to get the MK ban out of the way before we do anything. It was quite a hassle to get everything worked out with this rule change with just MK being banned. We also didn't want too many big changes to the ruleset all at one time.
As long as people know ahead of time and conform to what you're putting out it'll be fine. However, when you have a characters that's banned by one region if the other regions don't fall in line then they'll be at an advantage. For example back in the vanilla days of SSFIV Sagat was banned in Japan. Then there was this 5 v 5 international thing going on and Japan was getting bodied by American Sagats because they didn't have that MU practice.I think our mindset is more based off mixing casual experience and competitive experience more than any other game.
It is not a bad thing...it makes our community great I just think it is something to think about.
Will MK be legal again? I highly doubt it. Will this increase our tournament turnouts? Well yes and no. Yes because the URC is going to push it as the standard and without it people will not get as much press as it would any other tournament.
I think I am being a little selfish though. When I look at this I think about Apex 2013 and all the OOC people coming. Do I keep MK banned for that? Or do I break the mold again. But how?US will get ***** when nobody knows the match-up anymore.
This much is true... and kinda unfortunate. US is po' and kinda haughty so it's very unlikely that US players will travel instead of vice-versa.**** where?
The USA are the ones ones hosting big internationals. If MK is banned there, Europeans can't really come and whip out their MK's.
Unless I misunderstood what you meant.
I guess... but it's not for everyone at the same time. It's not everyone that can pull off something like that. That applies for me, yes, Kage. But it doesn't necessarily apply to everyone else. I can't be mad when a Wolf main doesn't want to play my Sheik and goes MK because it makes more sense from a competitive standpoint.
