Also SUP @GHNEKO, we need to get some smash on soon homie, I was out at sea for a long *** time, I'll be around till late february and then we head back out again :(
THEN HIT ME UP SON. LETS PLAY. SOVA MELEE MISSES YOU.

Also, I'll be going aboard the USS Mitscher in mid feb so if you're at NOB, we'll be neighbors.

Oy oy! That $0.02 could have been used for Melee and you gave it to our competition?!?

But seriously, if we do end up winning, would it be possible to offer them a streamed tournament at Genesis 3 and make it the week after EVO? Think about it, we'd have just shown off our hype game in front of tens of thousands of viewers. If our commentators make mention of the fact that you can see more live Melee a week later, the amount of viewers for Genesis would really increase. It wouldn't be as much as if it were shown at EVO, but a Skullgirls tournament streamed at Genesis would get quite a bit of attention. And if they got enough high level players there, I think it would do a lot of good for them.
Honestly, this. We're alike in many ways. I'd love to see SG getting some love through Smash tournaments.

If there is a way to help bridge Smash and FGC, Melee x SG would deff be the best way imo.

I can't tell if that BrandX guy is the funniest troll in history or legitimately disturbed but I'm laughing anyways.

i'd like to think he's just melodramatically passionate.

Thank you guys for understanding my passion and I apologize for the doom and gloom I caused. I didn't mean to make the whole internet sad lol and I wasn't doing it for attention. I really care about SkullGirls and I really just want it to survive and live a wonderful life....
I also recognize your desire to have smash finally taken seriously, and with that I applaud you...
Let's hope that one day, both our communities can merge and we can prove to the FGC that our games are worth their time. I'm sorry I ever doubted you guys. Lets fight the good fight together..."

A lot of you should leave the guy alone and learn from his devotion.

I don't have account on SRK, but if that guy reads this, I'd like him to know that we all understand what he's going through. It's great that someone has as much dedication to a game as he does. If anything, he's convinced me to give Skullgirls a try whenever I next have access to an Xbox. I wish him the best of luck at Evo.

Mad respect to Scar and others for their attitude towards Skullgirls and this fund in general. I agree we need to keep it classy no matter the outcome of this -- I feel like one of the outside perceptions of the Smash community is that we're too immature and ignorant to deserve the big stage. I think we've taken huge steps forward to eliminate that perception during this past year, and we need to continue to do that in the aftermath of this EVO fund!

Just skimmed through the wake up srk recording about an hour ago, skisonic gave props to melee being super hype and brawl gfs too. They mentioned how close melee and SG are and though keits supported SG, melee is anticipated if it makes it in and skisonic seems to have had a super good time at apex. Their only real problem with melee seems to be it's age which really confuses me about TFG metagames but whatever.

Sad I didn't catch it in time to tweet them since they show tweets on the show and respond.

Donating for Melee

I was already going to donate during tomorrow's Melee It On Me stream, BUT in order to show that there is no ill-will between our community and the SkullGirls community, and also in order to support indie fighting game development, I will donate an additional $100 towards Melee IF we host SkullGirls or Divekick at Genesis 3.

I'll say it again:

I'll donate an additional $100 towards Melee's appearance at EVO, if we can guarantee an indie-developed game (SkullGirls or Divekick) featured at our next Smash Major (Genesis 3).

Talk to me, BOBACK!

Let those SkullGirls peeps know

Best of both world I guess, I really like that idea. Sry about my behavior earlier, but I wasn't in my best mood about this. I really support indie developers, it's just that I love Melee too much. I hope we can get this through so we can support both communities.

Donated 100 for you guys. I don't play competitive Smash anymore and haven't for about 2 years. The chances of me entering a Melee tourney again are slim to none. I just want to see the greatest game ever made be a part of Evo. I just pushed Melee passed the $3k mark, but Skullgirls is still $500 ahead of you. Do your part and donate.
Thank you so much! =)

E: Also good **** Melee, we've caught up a lot! Damn it's still so close

To be honest I really feel Mr. Wizard should let both Skullgirls and Melee into EVO, it's quite amazing see all this happen :)

I checked some videos of Skullgirls earlier, the game looks ****ing amazing and I want to try it.

Also it would be AWESOME to have Skullgirls featured at EVO, regardless of the outcome of the donations.

Mr. Wizard should let both games into EVO haha, I love the passion in the Skullgirls community and in ours

Armada said he would donate some of his Apex winnings when he gets them, the dude's cool =)

lol Mike Swaggar calls it like he sees it. Man Skull Girls isn't giving up, really need to go in hard during MIOM, I thought their full amount would be overkill but that doesn't mean we can slow down, gotta donate all we can.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear! I hope the other winners do the same (M2K, Dr. PP, etc.) and donate what they can from their winnings. :)

Also, Skullgirls at Genesis 3 would be neat, actually. I think it would be a cool thing to do. As it is, Apex already had an "indie" booth in a way, no reason for Genesis 3 not to do the same if not hold an event for SG.

Gen3 also has the great boon of being in the San Francisco area, which already has a lot of FG players and is close enough to other WC hotspots for them to travel =)

Yeeeep, it would be pretty neat. Though it's largely dependent on how Boback would feel about it and whether or not the venue will be the same as year's past or if it's being relocated for streaming purposes.

Turns out my payday got moved to Thursdays, so I won't be able to match any donations this evening on Melee It On Me.

I'll post my receipt as soon as the money is available to me with a $100 donation!

This is absolutely amazing. I can't express how truly excited I am.

I'll post about Genesis over at SRK.
Easy there life, you should try to avoid the whole "when life gives you lemons" jokes...but srsly we're not the ones who can promise them genesis, that's boback and the rest of them. I like asking them to do it but don't think we should get sg hopes up before they comment on it.

We should cooperate with the SG community so both communities donate exactly the same amount. Then we demand SFxT be kicked out.

Rather not rig the donations to piss off Mr. Wizard with the opportunity he's given us. Better off hoping he sees the ridiculous amount that both communities have put into the donation drive and allows both games in on those grounds.
