Is anyone going staying at a hotel or something?
from what I gather housing is scarce, and I'd probably prefer to stay with someone I know/met if possible, BUT otherwise hotel room sharing would be boss.

Considering me going to this would be a trade to going to the US, I probably wouldn't care too much about getting a non-****ty room.

except that they've had a steady tourney scene for over 3 years, have way more experiance, some of the best players in the country, AND they keep they're know-it-all brats on a leash.
they also host super amazing majors that have had some of the best players in the world attend, like ken, m2k, some japanese guy I think bombsoldier or some ****...
etc etc.


you guys are just starting to grow, melbournes been way ahead of you since the dawn of time.

Anyway, smash is really good. Just need to limit how long you play the game for in one go. you also need to switch on all stages and items from time to time to show who's really good at this game.

I find it odd how much the smash scene created a negative stigma of 'playing smash'. Which is a shame. You shouldn't feel bad playing a video game as long as you still have control of your life.

SA seems to have so many randoms who play casually and dont attend monthlies but will go to Avcon and maybe Reloaded. Hence why Avcon gets 256 entrants (have to cut it off as more want in) each year and is like the biggest comp in the southern hemisphere and one of, if not the biggest ever. Since I won the last one doesnt that make me one of, if not the best ever..... trollface.jpg

Reloaded is and has been for a while the largest byo lan in the southern hemishere, not much else to do here but game and go to massive events. Btw Avcon is estimated to get 6-10 thousnad people through the doors this year.

During the week in the mornings and afternoons, 357 outside my house, straight outside the uni. [15 minutes]

Otherwise 400 bus (elongated route but the stop is near the train station and goes right outside) [35-40 minutes]

Otherwise take the train one station to Green Square then catch the 370, which also happens to go straight outside. [depending on luck but up to as quickly as 20 minutes but sometimes public transport sucks and it takes TWO HOURS]
