Does anyone else think that (oddly) Olimar's nair may be his safest aerial on shield? I've been able to get away with nairs on D3 shield without being punished. pretty consistently.

na dude you can get shieldgrabbed pretty easily. nair takes foreverrr to finish when it hits a shield. youre better off just trying to not land in front of a shielding opponent, or spacing a fair/bair

Our safest aerial on shield is a very well spaced fair. If their shield is kinda used up on the other hand, using nair can eat their shield more and it'll hit them.

I have a question about Olimar platform canceling. On sv, I want to jump from the ledge into a platform cancel. I can't find the timing for it, help/advice anyone?

edit: nvm, i learned it was because I was using my C stick

Hey, im trying to figure out the counterpick for all characters so im going to all the Q&A threads of all the characters and posting this. I would like for you to give me your characters worst MU and worst stage so it saves me a lot of time researching it myself and testing stuff.

I would really appreciate it if you all helped me out.

Hope to get some answers pretty soon.

Yeah, Rob's definitely your best bet, he's as close to a hard counter as you can get. Plus no Olimars have Rob experience so you'll have the upperhand there too.

Shouldn't you check a character's match-up and stage threads before posting this in every character's Q&A thread?
Most characters discuss their "worst" match-ups first anyway.

BTW. Olimar's "worst" stage is Summit if you're including non-legal stages, but his "worst" legal stage REALLY depends on the match-up.

Man, imagine if we could tarzan all over Rainbow Cruise. God damn.
Tarzan to Fair on the pendulum part sounds sexy.
I'm completely certain that if everything on that stage had a ledge, we'd always break the LGL.

And he didn't break the LGL?
No, he stayed on the right on the first transformation and short hop naired then when i approached he fell underneath the platform, sharked and shield poked me. When the platform was high or low tho he was just able to avoid damage. On the second transformation, he scrooged and got on the platform that appears from the blast zone anytime it appeared. 24 Ledge grabs, bah

Yeah, it sucks.

You could've tethered his SH nairs, but... it seems we never think about that kind of stuff until it's over, ya know? Most of the time I don't think I'm getting timed out until way after the fact <.<

is anyone else struggling with mk as much as me? i'm starting to feel like its an impossible matchup :| someone shine their light on me Dx

edit: read rich's guide again... how can i forget all of this? i guess i haven't been playing anyone that good recently... i need to learn to not use shield and just use hitboxes as my shield against them... my problem is that i use shield way to much, i want them to attack it because i excel at punishing anything that hits my shield (well when i use mk that is but also for things i can up smash OoS) and i also need to practice my reactions against nado and watch for any habits they do after nado... i usually can just whistle though it though and jab but sometimes they just shield the 2nd hit and i get grabbed and then i have to land .. LANDING! thats what i've been doing terrible in i need to practice that again i've been doing way to much aggressiveness to i need to learn when to be aggressive at the right times, it never hurts to be defensive. (sorry if you guys read this and not knowing what to say i think i got it lol, just need a LOT of mk practice.. i usually can start winning after i play them about 5 times but in tourny that's not gonna be able to happen... only 3 matches at most.

edit2: oh and i need like some gloves or something cuz my hands get SOOOO SWEATY when i get nervous and mk tends to do that a lot to me but even when im not this controller makes my hands so sweaty.. i need to do something about that cuz then my hands/fingers start pressing wrong buttons and i wait until i get a kill/die so i can wipe off my hands/controller on my shirt so i can start putting in the right inputs

Sweaty hands is just a sign of nervousness, learn how to play under stressful conditions or re-map how you view stress. Stress can be positive or negative depending on how you view the situation.

stress just means you're overthinking while you play. you must learn to calm your mind and synchronize it with your actions
