I'll be expecting my Kirby-cakes in the mail on May 2nd, Ladybug. ;)

honestly just poke with bair a lot and shieldgrab. Toon Link, zss and rob are the toughest in mid tier and they're really not all that tough.
Sounds like DDD's metagame if you ask me.

I must have that game
It is pretty awesome. It's controls aren't great (but then, it is an old game), the combat is only decent (think RE series, excluding 4 and 5), and there are a couple really annoying things (like how hard it is to fight with swords in narrow corridors since you keep hitting the walls instead due to not having enough room to swing.).

However, this game is honestly the best survival/horror I've ever played in terms of atmosphere and sheer mind****ery. Also, it's really fun. The story is kind of ridiculous though, but not in a bad way.
Oh, and this game also has a good sense of humor, both in the writing and in the **** that happens when the sanity meter starts running low (which is, generally speaking, all the time).

****, my character shot himself while reloading a flint pistol, and the screen faded to black before basically telling me "haha, just kidding!".

I have found this doesn't really work too great. I tried out the bait the approach thingy Kewkk's always talking about and that was pretty cool although I did find myself going back to my old playstyle during the matches.

Also no one has answered my previous question yet: What characters HAVE advanced their metagame over the past couple of months

@ Fromundaman- DUUUUUDDDEE I love that game. Insanity meter rocks. I've had the one that your volume on your tv starts going up and down, limbs fall off as you walk, when you enter a room you're one of the monsters, and where it goes back to the opening screen for a moment, etc. I've beat it 100% but it was a long time ago lol. F' ya!

@ everyone else- My body is sore from paintball ;_; feel sympathy for me.

That would explain why my computer just died...

As for Pit... IDK, but Pit mains have started stepping it up lately, so I figured their metagame must have improved.

Also, metagame != new/number of ATs. Stop making that mistake people.

Edit:

@JoWii: Yeah, I had the title screen and becoming a monster ones too. Haven't had the volume thing, and I heard about the 'corrupted data' thing too, but have yet to get that.

Also, the game scared the **** out of me earlier. It conditions me to think "Oh, press this button to investigate things and get a small box of text that pauses gameplay and explains the object/scene/item/whatever to you. We love you and you are perfectly safe with this investigate stuff button" for the last 5 hours, then all of a sudden, I go to investigate a simple object and "OH DEAR CHRIST ZOOM IN ON SUDDENLY SCREAMING CORPSE WTF?". That was cruel. Truly cruel Eternal Darkness. You have managed to scare me once in this whole game so far, but it has affected me more than any other horror game 'scare' so far, as it makes me scared to use basic game mechanics anymore.

I gotta say, I love the way this game plays though. Not gonna lie though, first time I heard them talk about a "Pillar of Flesh", I started giggling like a 4 year old.

Eternal Darkness is amazing.

I remember the first time it "turned off" on me. Made me lol.

And the fact that the game sometimes hides your save files? Friggin' insane.

Oh god, it hasn't pulled that one on me yet.

Silicon Knights... how did you go from this to 'Alone in the Dark'?

@ Fromundaman- You mean when you went into the bathroom and that corpse was in the tub with blood? Ya, I stopped playing that game @ night when that scared the hell out of me.
Yeah, that's what I meant, but didn't want to say exactly where to not spoil it for anyone else who might play it. It caught me completely by surprise and scared the crap out of me.

Lulz, that game is amazing.

I actually think that if that game came out now, it wouldn't be as epic. It was before it's time when it came out and we can excuse anything bad about it by falling back on the fact it's an older game. It'd get lost in the swarm of games mass dist. nowadays because gamers who are playing have less attention for a slower, methodical game like Eternal Darkness.

@Viper: lol MLG. Seriously, if EVO would have pulled this controller stuff people would have rioted. Especially after 08 Brawl with items and CPU winning on Skyworld.

Happy birthday Viper! :)

I believe the word you are looking for is "Pits." Ahahahahahaha
Lol.

I was going to edit it the day I posted it to fix the error.
Didn't think someone anal enough to not only backtrack, but to bring it up again, would do it.

It's hilarious.
