THE 1 PRINCIPAL THING agiant spacies i thing is very effective against them is buffering jabs > turnaround jabs ... or changing jabs for f tilts... this really gets on their nerves... and in my experience they get really ticked off and start playing really gay... but this is kind of a mindgame... so u should see it coming.. try doing what i say and ull tick off ANYBODY.

I can't wait to see you play PP again Linguini. And I'm not saying that because I think you'll lose or anything like that. I just know it's going to be sick. I think Shiz is about at the same level (but that's only judging off of vids obviously). I just think PP plays the smartest vs Ganon.

When's the last time you guys played in tourney, to4?

ive noticed that a lot of ganons roll more than they wavedash oos, is there a reason for this?
His wavedash out of shield is kind of slow. I don't remember how many frames exactly it takes for the wavedash to initiate, but you are vulnerable for at least the 5 preceding frames (between pressing jump and L or R)

So, if you are being shield pressured by fox or falco for example, that wave dashe OoS could be a bad idea.

yup. true.

btw im happy/excited/gay or whatever lol. I got new vids. just 1 question..
EVERY FRIGGIN match is like 100 mb and my connection is balls... they are at 320*something, and mpeg2.
Recording @ .wmv had good size but was too choppy for me.

To what format should i convert best to upload for youtube? for smaller sizes, but acceptable quality? also what program?

I'm having trouble with the Marth/Falcon matchups specifically because of their dash dancing and their speed. It feels like they can sit back and wait for me to do anything while I have to try and guess at when they're going to come at me (this is especially true of Falcon).

Maybe I'm just being too aggressive, I don't know.

Ok...So what do you do if they start playing really gay? For example, they just avoid you and laser spam from opposite sides of the screen. What's the best way to close the gap? I've seen a lot of gannons uair out of sheild when facing away from the lil space critters and sometimes they jump into it. But i'm having trouble just getting that close!

I used to main Samus, but i took the spacing that i learned with her, and my goal is to put it together wit gannon. However, i come into problems with my approach, getting grabbed a lot and being predictable.

if you get grabbed a lot, you need to use retreating fair. in order to get close, you have to sorta run in to a point where they have to make a decision to either use their approach, or run away more. its tough for them to deal with if you close that gap quickly with a really horizontal waveland, unless theyre really paying attention. if they try to get out of the corner by going up and over, thats where they run into the uair. if they choose to do their nair approach, you can cc jab. if they try to grab you, as i said earlier, you need the retreating fair. getting close is a challenge, and its not to be done recklessly, but with time, you can find that spacing where they have to decide what to do, and once you get used to their style, you can use the appropriate counter.

i just learned most of this yesterday, and applied it today. i was going pretty much even with a fox today that would normally 2 stock me every match. this knowledge really changes your outlook on fox.

falco's a little more complicated...

hope that helped.

Nicely said, Chris. Knowledge Im aware of all this myself, but sometimes things are hard to put into words... but,

yeah, all that, mixing up normal and low jumps to be able to get hits in, and CLOSING the gap between u but keeping safe at the same time, u can notice u are doing this well if they start to grab u alot but miss the grab; punish using retreating fairs.... TILTS, i cant stress this enough, better yet, low angled f tilt is BEAST because u put them in the tech game if it hits...

Grab to jab to grab.... at early percents. At like 40, they will have to tech... so start READING, and.. remember if u can SMELL (u actually can sometimes lol, Because its kind of hard to tech dorf`s jab), remember... time your fair to hit them to when they are on the floor, but not invulnerable, or when they are on their feet , same story.

Vs Falco, my opinion is to practice powershielding because if they see u returning their lasers then they kind of think twice sometimes before doing it, its not much of a MINDGAME or anything, but its something to keep in mind. remember to always **** his recovery because THAT is falcos weakness vs ganon. (Tipman uair anyone?)

ALL IN ALL, best way to close gaps are WAVELANDS, but practice measuring different distances.

as in just turnaround grab, or dash forward, turn around, and jc grab?

with the first you basically can basically hold the other direction and sorta buffer your turnaround. the other, you dash the way you're facing, and as soon as you turn back around, do a jc grab (by jumping and grabbing at almost the same time).

Fun Night, Although when the alcohol got to our heads Kira and Kley got into a discussion and wanted to fight for real. Super Smash Bros. can be so violent at times.

All I need now are some Falcon vids to upload but its hard to play as him; I get some weird lag idk why.

Edit: btw thx Gardevior, i converted to Mp4.
Before: 1.61 gb Total
After : 0.31 gb Total (310 mb)
Epic win.

PP is bringing his VCR to the next tourney. i will do EVERYTHING i can to get matches recorded. i got a lot better (again, i know), but this may be my last big jump. now i understand platform pressure, stage control, and paying attention at the space BETWEEN you and your opponent.

i also use fulljump, which is new for me this week LOL.

i hope a lot of you come to TO6. i may be something of a force to reckon with by that time.

PLEASE teach me to ledgetech like you. What had been trying to do is to Hold R just a little bit before being hit, and I'd hold C-Stick towards the stage to get ASDI. As soon as I'm hit, I try to smash the control stick toward the stage to get one SDI input. However, I'm not even close to as consistent as you. What is your technique?

What I do is press R a little before getting hit (doesn't matter if you hold or not) while holding straight horizontally towards the stage with the control stick, then during when the hitlag would be I rotate it to up&towards (or if it sends low then slightly above that). Since I started doing that I almost never miss edgetechs on anything (unless it doesn't cause tumble of course).

SDIs from rotation trigger when entering a new quadrant, so from full horizontal you get a SDI right as you start to move it upwards and into the zone between full towards and full up. Doing it like this to SDI you get the benefit of good survival DI in case you mess up and also decent DI if you get hit much earlier than you expect.

If you can't get close enough to touch the wall you can also try smashing straight horizontal directly into rotate to up&towards to get 2 SDIs almost back to back. I do that here (with CF) and am able to reach the wall with the 2nd SDI and then tech:

Depends bro. for instance, im very used to the ganon v falcon or vice versa matchup since i use both, if they up b me, what i do is hold R the instant I am grabbed, and hold UP ( to ledgetech jump) cause remember if u dont hold up, u will tech in place. after that , since they up B , u will always get ur double jump back, so its very safe. but against marth its a bit more spontaneous, but, in the end...

I dont use c stick for ANYTHING while teching. just a little bit of smash di to the wall with control stick, while holding R and quickly changing from smash DI to holding up.

@ Palpi You can waveland after a full hop bair though. In full hop, you can even double bair in the same jump.

Magus puts in cheat codes.
Fair enough. =] haha.

So I'm not sure if anyone's discussed edge-cancelled aerials yet.

I don't see a lot of Ganons try them (probably because they're highly situational), but they look fierce. I guess I'm just curious to know if anyone has found any decent applications for them. =]

My only contribution in that regard would be that I've had marginal success with edge-cancelling a fair or dair on the the edge of the stage (or outside platform depending on the stage) and following up with another aerial to edge guard. I hope there's some viability to this and that I don't come across as a scrub. haha. =]
