There's love, and then there's poor taste.

And the line for poor taste was crossed.

I really am starting to dislike the overall attitude of this thread.
wait a second

are you talking about us discussing that german chick? she is a pornstar, i think its ok to talk "bad" about her

No way andy is giving me a definite yes or no. Zac is teaming with a noob (plus we are horrible team partners). Don't know who else is going cuz I have no invite to the User Group that handles travel plans. Thus, partner less.

Decided to start traveling since there's no reason to support pro-ban anymore after the SBR ruling.

Xyro you're pretty cool.

If we do pools they need to be not 2 out of pools because there were seeding issues last time. At least 3. Not that I really care.

PS if anyone is interested in teaming with me drop me a PM or IM. I might not check this thread.

THIS.

If you do pools PLEASE do not have top 2 get out. That RUINS the purpose of pools. Pools is NOT to make the tournament run faster, it is to SEED the players. It's best to have a minimum of 4 people get out of a pool, even if the pools have to be larger for that to happen. That way you can seed fairly.

Will you let me look over the pools and/or talk to me before you make them? Last time I only looked over the bracket, which was insane because only 2 people go out of pools lol.

If you really want to make everyone attending the tournament feel like they really participated, Option 2 is the best.

If you want to make the tournament about the top players, then option 1 is better.

Just depends on how much of the community you want to involve and keep interested in returning.

100+ Man Bracket would be hard to seed properly just because of how large it is.

Smaller Bracket after Pools would be hard to seed properly since everyone coming out of pools is "the cream of the crop" hopefully.

You could always seed by location... So friends from the same place don't play each other. Not as "legit" I guess, but you hear more complaints about friends have to knock each other out in brackets rather than playing someone tough, anyway.

Pools seed the bracket themselves, you shouldn't even need to seed the bracket if you do pools correctly. Ideally in most tournaments(not smash) pools are used purely for seeding. EVERYONE makes it out of pools. So they would have for example pools of 8 and 1st seed plays 8th first 2nd plays 7th and so on.

I'm not saying we should do that lol but have two people get out of pools like last time is..pointless? You could just run a straight up bracket faster. Having 4 or more get out is ideal, because then you DON'T have to seed the bracket because the pools seed it for you. The only thing you have to do is assign a 1st/4th seed out of the 1st seeds and seperate them to the tops and bottoms of the brackets so they don't play till semis. You can do that without changing seeding from the pools as well.

TL;DR pools are not hard to seed properly because if pools are done properly you shouldn't even need to seed. Pools seed the bracket for you, that is the point of them.

What I meant is that if you had a lower number of people getting out of pools, it would be a bit harder than normal to seed based on skill since obviously the players getting out are all gonna be good. I know Pools seed the bracket, I'm just saying that cause there would be so many good players in the bracket, that two really good people being matched up first round would not be unlikely since everyone is good at that point. Obviously first seed will play 4th seed or whatever, but I'm just saying that if you only have a small number get out, that 4th seed is gonna be pretty good. This is assuming a 48 man or smaller bracket though, anything bigger than that would be nearly inconsequential.

I support pools over the other idea, I'm just pointing out that if you weed out enough players, you'll get a bracket filled only with good people, which may be a positive or negative for people.

And my point was that you don't NEED to seed that hard bracket because pools do it for you. Just cause everyones good doesn't make it hard to seed when they have pool records that will auto seed them >_>. The only seeding that needs to be done manually is moving the 2 best players into opposite brackets and possibly 3/4 away from each other as well. That's not hard.

I think you are trying to say people might be unhappy with the brackets if too many good players are there/small bracket because it will be hard, but that doesn't have anything to do with seeding. They literally cannot complain about the seeding if at least 4 progressed from pools because everyone will have fair seeding based on their pool placements. Only having 2 placements for seeding is something to complain about >_>.

Dang best 3/5 I hope you guys are ready to watch me make every single one of my rounds last atleast 24 minutes (assuming we are on a 8 minute timer).

I'll automatically become like 5th in TX the moment I enter your state, rofl. Maybe higher. I'm not even trying to be cocky, I'm just being honest. You really have no idea because people are extremely biased and I've been inconsistent in the past.
Inui I highly doubt you'll beat our top 5 players, heck I believe our top 10 would beat you. Anyways all I'm saying is don't belittle Texas by assuming that you're going to do well at this upcoming Hobo, I just don't want you to set your standards high and then be disappointed by your results. Please be more realistic and realize where you stand in the Brawl competitive scene.

I vote for option 2 as well. I've always barely missed the cutoff for making it out of pools in every pool-tourney I've been to so far. XD
