oh. well that part makes sense then.I think Puff's best style vs Samus is one that involves being in her face a lot. But I'm pretty much done with this conversation 'cuz I'm out of points and stuff

Kyle, why do you play puff?
You seem to be aware that your playstyle and mindset don't fit puffs characters, and yet, you play her anyway? After reading your post, I was thinking Marth would probably fit you good, in terms of the whole intelligent defensive/reaction mindset.
David your commentary is great but you do tend to ramble and it gets cluttered when the other commentaor tries to put in his input. which leads me to conclude you either need to do commentary by yourself, or allow the other guy to put in his say as well. You were talking over him a lot, as you are wont to do whenever you start talking about the game passionately.

I agree with all of that in varying degrees. I would've certainly preferred to do commentary alone in those videos for a few reasons.
I think I would be fine with another commentator, though, as long as they knew what they were talking about and I'd talked to them a bit prior to commentating to get a feel for what they were gonna look for and their general communication style... he seemed to just focus on really obvious stuff and half of what he said was... wrong

i've tried marth, he's fun once i get a hit but he's so campy otherwise. he could still work if i get used to his wd oos stuff, though.
why do i play puff? hmm...i like almost everything about her, in theory. in practice, though, i don't like how other playstyles/characters direct me to play her. especially defensive fox. i know how the matchup works, it's just so irritating. i feel like i have to do all the work.
and i've put so much effort into puff, and she's so different from the other characters, that playing anyone else will mean wasting some amount of the things i know about this game. although i guess i'm doing that anyway by playing my character incorrectly. i mean, if you're a fox main and you switch to falco, you lose a little bit, but if you're a jiggs main and you switch to almost anything else, there's so much that just won't apply anymore.

Yea that's true, puff is so vastly different. Maybe start slow and use another character in friendlies and pools until you get a handle of it, then make the switch. thats of course assuming you want to switch at all, you could just stick with puff lol.
And remember, Mango's falco was kind of seen as a joke when he first started using it in 2008. no one could take him seriously and remember people would always say "MAYBE WITH PUFF" after mango's falco would just get ***** by silentspectre/m2k/whoever. But look at him now lol

I don't think you'd like Marth Kyle, at least not from what I get your viewpoint is. Like, if you want to be always be able to approach especially, I genuinely recommend like Fox/Falco.

Marth just isn't a very pressure heavy character in the way you're looking for. Peach can kinda do it >_> But you won't like campy foxes on her either

sorry for the only a brief visit, and a late/delayed one lol, i would've stayed longer if i could, but my gf kept reminding me about the storm watches/warnings, and it was actually good that we left when we did. driving on the highway was like driving in a flood... could hardly see past 10m in front of you at some points, and at some points all cars moving like 60km/h on the 401 lol
glad to have played you again james/david, fun games, david almost jv5'ing my marth with his fox looool counter ftl
also, hope you guys didn't mind my gf. she was really quiet cuz she felt really out of place since she's never followed me to smash-related events before. she didn't didn't want to come, but just felt out of place. she's also more social than she may have seemed lol

Just a thought, I was reading the conversation about David's commentary and I think that yes either, alone or with some else who is very insightful. About the tournament, my chances of going, are now like 50-50, ill keep you guys posted.
