The stream was a nice picture slide show for me. Was still pretty epic though. My favourite parts were the ICs ****, hax taking 2 stocks from lucien, and mango vs pp.

edit: also who wants a cube the most, and who only cares about the controller? in most cases it's still more expensive to get the cube too, just not a lot more. most expensive cube+controller set i've seen is $26, and there are two just purple controllers for $17 each...

ahh that sucks =/

at the moment it's faster for james to order them, so we can do that pretty much as soon as we're both in the same place at the same time. we really should have ordered them when i got to david's house early on friday...dunno why we didn't.

(for me to order them requires putting money onto my paypal, and it takes over a week to do that, i think because it's an american company)

It seems somewhat risky to lend controllers to Bernard. They get incapacitated in some way when I do. The orange one's button pads and stick were permanently messed up after he borrowed it, and now he's lost the black one.

Genesis looked really fun.

Apparently Armada cried when he beat Mango. About time he did take a national, though.

Also, I have a question.

At large nationals, is there one setup with tio, or are there individual stations for each game? Just curious.

Hey, I'm not sure if Andrea reads this thread but I met a person yesterday at a friend's birthday party. He's a pretty decent melee player studying pharmacy at uoft and has been looking for people to play melee with in uoft. Maybe I can some how direct him to you and your uoft melee friends?? He's pretty old school and has been playing for a while.

Mango seemed like he was cracking under the pressure. A lot of tech skill mistakes especially in the last 3 games and Armada punished appropriately. No excuses

i wanted to see that falco again...and any vids of the Taj Mango LF where mango apparalently just wrecked him...like 2 4 stocks apparaletnly?

I honestly don't understand the blind unconditional love people have for mango. Saying all kinds of stuff about how he might have won if he played puff, or he let armada win, he still the best etc. if mango doesn't care enough about "being the best" to prove it, I don't get why some people insist on defending him. Just ****ing let it go. There's no point in keeping up the charade anymore. The facade is over. Mango lost.

the point that ppl are ignorant about isn't that he didn't/doesn't--it's that he *could*

he's the closest to what *could* of the whole smash community. i don't care if ppl say "well he doesn't/didn't/doensn't want to" or that "armada still won"
i don't care if he lost or didn't win or couldn't win regardless of mango-fanboyism. it's the deepdown fact that he could.
i'm not discreditting armada on his victory at all. but ppl saying mango finally lost while "trying"... yea... he tried so hard to avoid his attacks >_>

I think he was trying with Fox. I don't think he should have gone Fox, but it looked like he was going pretty hard. Especially after winning game 1, he could have just cheesed it with Puff in a really stupid match up. Could just have pulled out Falco or something if Armada went Y.Link. Maybe it was just a pride thing where he wanted to stay Fox, or maybe he legitimately thought Fox was his best chance to win because his Puff is rusty or something. Based on what we've seen from Mango though I guess I still feel Puff would have been his best choice.

I still think he's probably the best player if he's willing to play multiple chars and play hard; Fox vs. Hbox, Puff vs. Armada, etc. Maybe I think that only because he can slob pick all the other top players like that. I can't really think of someone who has a guaranteed win against Mango if he would do that. I can't think of someone with a guaranteed win against a few players but I feel Mango's array of characters would give him the best shot. Being the best doesn't always mean you'll win every set you play though.

Also, Hungrybox's placing relative to level of skill he exhibited vs. Armada is mortifying. Ban Puff please.

Jack you're being ridiculous, look at what you're saying, then look at the facts. How long does mango get this free ride where he's the best no matter what? It's a slap in the face to people like armada and pp who have busted their *** for the title, and get nothing for their work except a pat on the back and a little voice saying "mango is still better"

Mango hasn't won a tourney since pound ****ing 4. Armada has consisntely placed 2nd at pretty much everything, and now finally wins. And all you've got to say is "oh, mango could have won if this and if that." who gives a crap what could have happened? Mango also could have won if armada sd'd 20 times, but he didn't. Mango could have won if he played better than armada but he didn't. Furthermore, I could make the claim that even if mango played at whatever magical arbitrary maximum skill you think he posses, armada would STILL win, but I won't do that because that's dumb, and so is what you're saying. You're basically doing the equivalent of a child sticking their fingers in their ears and refusing to listen because they don't like what they are hearing.

If you really want to believe that there exists some absolute truth of who is the best player based purely on feelings, then go ahead. I'm a supporter of reality.
