XD

Shifting the metagame from tankiness/poke + regen. It's pretty nice I'm interested in how it's going to pan out :D

Really great patch overall, but a Sivir nerf is definitely due. Rammus and Corki are definitely manageable. Not worried about them really. Malphite nerf might be a little much. If they nerfed his passive a little bit and the range on his Shard, he would be fine.

Pretty rough nerf to all the major tank items. Gonna suck for survivability across the board, even for non-tanks. Someone needs to fix the efficiency spreadsheets and see how many of these items just don't make sense anymore.

locket was removed because it was a really strong item for champions with low cooldowns like udyr.

M3D, corki's ability to escape is ridiculous and his dmg output is very high. sivir's ability to push lanes with one wave is crazy. rammus will be the star of the next patch as creep counting, and warding was the only way to really be safe vs all his early ganks.

jury's out on the patch until i can play it but I'm left wondering why the **** they even touched about 75% of the things they did in this patch... -_-. I'm not necessarily sure they're wrong for the long term health of the game, but I'm not used to so many changes being like... "wtf? who was *****ing about elixirs?" or "why in god's name did they nerf wards?" or "nerf solo lane exp... huh?"

I'm not trying to get a job there anymore so I can share my opinion now... Riot's design team is backazzwards.

"Hey guys, jungling is too strong and so is solo laning. How do we fix this?"

"We make it so that wards are less effective, easier to kill and you can't track junglers by their CS anymore!"

"Wait, won't that make junglers SAFER and make it easier for them to gank?"

"Yeah, but we'll nerf bulky champions too so they can't solo their lane!"

"Won't that also make jungling stronger?!?!?"

No, because now there will be more deaths and lanes will get pushed faster."

"But, if players don't have vision on the jungle or on CS, won't they just play more passively so they don't get ganked? Won't that make the game take longer?"

"Well... um... LOOK! A new Kog'Maw skin! It's cute."

Nerfing the tankiness aspect = faster game

I believe what they SHOULD do though is nerf sitting in your base defending. Some games go on 20 minutes longer than they should simply because people can defend their own turrets so effectively.

My re-entry to the front page for 3s was this!

This actually made me giggle, what do you want, first person to take innner tower gets a free win?

look at the strength of the old elixirs, for example ashe just getitbng an elixir and has the ability to change the game quite easily after she gets IE.
nerfing wards is great so it allows more ganking, the health of them makes it so that you cant just decide to pop a ward over to baron or dragon while the team is there and have complete vision. or if u buy an oracle/vision ward ure not auto attacking it 4 times to kill it. this will make more people ward more effectively, and change up their patterns instead of okay ill ward dragon and nothing happen at dragon for a long time because we know its warded. or it allows you to do whatever you want because you just warded bottom bush and won't get ganked in the bottom lane.

i thought the changes are actually a buff to the jungle.
solo lane exp nerf is kind of weird i agree, but it shouldnt be that big of a change.

Nah. That's a silly assumption and you know it.

If team A is sitting inside of their own base for 3+ minutes, they have reduced armor/MR or simply don't gain the 1gold/sec income that they normally would, and it could be counteracted perhaps by entering their own jungle/passing a certain barrier of the map or even just last hitting a neutral.

Ugh, can't get to sleep.

So I'm gonna rant.

MAJOR indirect buffs for Shaco this next patch:
-Nerfs to a lot of the good champs.
-Nerfs to a lot of the good items that Shaco doesn't use.
-Nerf to wards does a couple things:
-Ward duration nerf indirectly increases the cost efficiency of Wriggle's Lantern, which is a top notch item on Shaco.
-Wards, and item that prevents a lot of a Shaco ganks from the jungle, are now less cost efficient. (buff for junglers overall)
-"Minion count on the scoreboard will now only update for Champions that you have vision of." (buff for all junglers, including Shaco)
-"Monster AI has been improved and will now attempt to switch to a nearby target when you leave their leash range. Monsters can now reaggro if anyone in their camp is attacked while they are retreating." (I think this may be a buff for jungling with JiBs.)
-Flash nerfs indirectly buff Shaco's ganking.
-"Solo lanes will see a slight reduction in their experience gain. Junglers and Dual lanes will be unaffected." (Makes it that much easier to gank a solo. Might even let me Shaco gank at level 4 while mid is still level 3, if the change is big enough.

edit: On second thought, this is pretty lame :(:
"Healing" due to a level up will now be adjusted by a portion of your missing health. In general, less health will mean less recovery. Healing from Catalyst the Protector remains unaffected."

Well now, interesting patch is interesting.

Locket gone, Wards nerfed, Last Whisper full AD, Twitch Nerf, Elixer's nerfed, Infinity Edge is the same damn thing, etc

The Last Whisper change is interesting. 40 more AD for Volley/Gatling Gun/Rockets/AD scaling moves that don't work off of AS, and Trist gets more damage to work with her Q. After the Elixer nerfs though, it's an overall nerf to carries.

I feel like they nerfed WAY to much for one patch.

There is no way that could have been properly tested they just basically changed the entire game.

Edit:

Urgot no longer fun to play upon rereading :\

also lol @ releasing amazing Olaf skin getting the sales then nerfing him to ****.

i thought so too. but i've always wanted to run gunblade / rageblade on her. and this way her shunpo + bouncing blade can be strong. not just sacrificing the other. i feel like her ult go hit HARD tho D:
if gunblade costs less it might work but rageblade just sucks on kat

The nerfs to Olaf suck so bad, both direct and indirect. I'm really bummed. Less damage from vicious strikes AND reduced level up healing means he's going to be slower in the jungle. This means a weaker early game, less dragon control and fewer ganks. Then the nerf to tank items AND a nerf to his damage mitigation in Ragnarok means his late game is going to suffer hard. You can't get in there and wreck faces anymore. In fact, he might need to switch from an "in the fray" fighter to a clean up guy ala Shaco or Twitch so that his bulkiness isn't as much of an issue and he can just focus on shredding the last remaining bits of enemy health while ignoring their CC.

Good thing I never got to try Olaf and start to love him ;__;

* Decisive Strike attack damage ratio increased to 120% from 100%
* Decisive Strike base damage reduced to 30/45/60/75/90 from 40/60/80/100/120
* Judgment
o Base damage per second changed to 60/90/120/150/180 from 30/70/110/150/190
o Scaling increased to 100% per second from 70%
o Now scales off of only bonus attack damage rather than all attack damage

What do you guys think of Garen? I feel like it's a nerf since nobody (that I know of, at least) builds AD Garen.

It is a nerf, they are trying to make him more late game and nerfed his early game with those changes. They also want Garens to go away from the whole sunfire stacking/tanky build.

it 100% kills garen. His level 1 damage is a lot lower and it's lower across the board. He poses no ranged threat and needs to be right on top of people to do his damage, so making his damage reliant on building damage kills the character because he'll no longer be tanky enough to live in the area where he needs to be in order to deal his damage.

Naw. He took it squarely on the Gooch. It was a clean, devastating blow to the Gooch.

If it were measurable, I'd give you 10:1 odds on Garen being a bad character this patch and I'd put up like, $1000 vs. $100 on it. He seriously took it directly in the ***.
Don't know why your trying to bet, you might be right, you may be wrong, but you don't have access to the game atm, so you can't be completely sure.

The current way most players play garen will be ruined no doubt. However, lots other AD options are available now.

Depends on what you mean by ruin. Garen will clearly be worse off after this, but he's not gonna turn into an Eve or Urgot or someone of that nature.
