Agreed, for now. Nevertheless, it seems to be getting more popular.



Side note: I started building wriggles, boots, sheen on Shaco as soon as Wriggles came out, but stopped when everyone said it was bad. X_x

Played a ranked today. We had singed and morde on our team. After game the opposing ww told me I should have built tank udyr, and dps udyr is fail hard. Even though we got first 3 drakes, fb, and baron we lost. Our morde build ryle's first, ashe built cdr boots (they had cc), and akali initiate every team fight and got bursted everytime.

I do Manamune/Lucid boots/Visage/LastWhisper/banshees/Bloodthrister(if the game somehow goes that long).
But then this is my first day with Pirate soooo don't pay any attention to this.

Trinity Force really only scales with your 'level', so IMO its really only something alright to get if you somehow stomp really early.
The 1 bonus damage per 2 seconds cap + it being only your base attack damage will always make it meh... Like... for ezreal, yeah it gives him a stronger poke... I guess you're paying for that 'safety' thing (I don't think it's worth it on any melee dps champ unless they have something that scales with it... like shaco or poppy.
However, Trinity Force provides health, slow and movement speed. I forget the calculations I did on it all though.

Like... for the first 0.5 seconds or so you would burst for more... but over 1.5 seconds, your character is out doing that burst from trinity force by buying another dps item...
Realistically though I think Tforce is a game-to-game choice item that was kinda sprung to glory through Eve's use of it (which she kinda needed because the difference between doing more damage in 1 second than you would otherwise would mean her not dying). For range carries its alright if your team is more pokey... but if you think you're going to not really be able to be safely out of range for most of the time, bloodthirster at base stats does more damage + has life steal.

Wiggles is alright... I guess now that doran's have been nerfed again (price wise), there really is something noticeable as early game build.

Get 3 dorans items (300 health, plus some attack damage / defences / whatever) or get a wiggles lantern, which has a similar cost.
Previously the argument would be 'well you need doran's level 1' -

Imo starting with cloth armor and 5 health potions is pretty viable on a lot of characters atm and you're not putting off things as much as you would before. If you're against a team which is more physical damage minded, I think wriggles is definitely a better early game defensive/farming base item to buy.

I go with Tankplank.

Two Heart of Golds -> Infinity Edge -> Build according to game. Boots dependent on my lane. Usually Zerkers for farming and harassing seeing as nobody that takes a solo lane out-lanes the TANKPLANK!

I go with Panda's build:

Cloth Armor + 5 pots (or ward + 2 pots, depending on team comp)
Boots 1
Wriggles
CDR Boots (Panda actually goes Zerks)
Spirit Visage
Zeal -> Phantom Dancer

after that, I build Black Cleaver or Madreds (if they are tank heavy and we don't have someone to shred) and then finish an Infinity Edge if it goes that long. Not sure if Panda follows this build but I kinda worked it out with him right after the last patch.

And I find it rare that he can survive an onslaught with life steal anyway.
Team dependent imo. If you're in solo queue without support, life steal

Woo broke 1500 solo queue. Pretty much winning 3:1 right now I'm expecting a drop soon though.

My buddy has vent though and so usually it ends up turning into triple or quadra queue which really isn't fair. I guess it's kind of cheating?

Pretty much facerolling with Urgot ATM, though champs packing a Doran's shield are starting to give me trouble.

Trundle is under appreciated and might be as good as Udyr in the jungle.

Urgot has perhaps the most dominant laning in the game atm and frequently just wins based on that.

Teemo's move quick buff was huge and imo he's a bit of a sleeper atm.

Morgana, Annie and Amumu are all under represented for no apparent reason.

Still a bit early to tell but I think Karma is potentially really really strong. I just don't know where yet...

the lifesteal is about staying high while poking. Lifesteal isn't for living through burst unless you're Olaf or Irelia, it's about 1v1ing and sustaining your hp while you poke/recover from a fight.

Q triggers lifesteal but doesn't trigger crits. In most cases, I find myself just pot-shotting squishies with my Q while kiting tanks around. Ezreal is a kiting carry who abuses running away and shooting back with Q, not a Trist/Kog who can AA their way to victory. I'm not saying IE is bad on him exactly, xpecial still rushes it iirc, but his attack range is short enough that the positioning for attacking is very delicate so it's usually safer to use Q as a crutch until you have people isolated.

not cheating at all imo.

Ezreal is a very hard character to catch in the first place, behind a team, his q will be doing 25 less damage than a BT (a fully stacked BT though, the strain on the team for you having to farm that back up again if you die is noticeable). He can arcane if someone like xin/shaco says hello (insta arcane being more helpful here than many other blinks) and generally I find at that point you get lots of auto attacks in.

His Q isn't what it used to be, and unless you're up against opponents with no HP, the 200 damage potshots that you 'may' get on squishies is hardly noticeable. For him to be an effective damage carry he needs to be using auto attacks.

Edit: Mogwai, what Trundle builds have you seen so far that work well? I usually go the Wriggles, Mercs, Shurelya's, and Spirit Visage build to play tank support. Seems to work very well.
