Multilane champs. IE first pick lee sin people don't know if he's jungle or top till they see the rest of your team.

something safe, or with obscure counters

you can usually FP something like yorick because it's not very likely the enemy team has a trundle or cho top that knows how to deal with it, so they'll just go their typical riven and it'll be a farm lane

btw when did yorick's ghouls start counting for CS? i did yorick against trundle and it just was a total farmfest because we couldn't kill each other, except he was up +200 CS and it was hilarious

kinda sucks though because i had no clue how we were doing

generally in tourneys, if there's no obviously amazing champ that the first pick needs to snag for their team, then bot lane and jungle get picked first, and solo lanes get picked last

bot lane is the "safest" lane and a bad matchup can be dealt with relatively painlessly.

Speaking of dealing with bot lane matchups, how does freezing a lane work? I get that you get your creeps to meet right in front of your tower so you can farm easily without your tower taking damage. But if you're not completely under your tower, aren't you still vulnerable to being harassed out of your lane?

I've been carrying games as Jungle and top Kayle for a while. She really fun for me now and idk why I'm doing really good with her more recently.

The main thing that is helping me score kills is her ult, Veigar tried to stun, I stand in the middle and just use E, he walks closer to combo me out and I just pop my ult when he see him try.

I wanna go hybrid with her, but her AP ratios outside of her Q are bad. Generally only AP items I try at all are Nashor's an Triforce when I'm AD.

what kind of matchup are you playing where if you aren't under your tower you get harassed out of lane LMAO sounds harsh

um keeping the lane at your favor is the right choice for like 90% of the early game.

late-game once your tower is gone you can freeze the lane at your second tower for like 4 minutes if you really really want to, but beware your mid tower is gonna get pushed down 3v5.

if you're stronger than them and you let them farm all the waves under their tower you are a NOOB

Man, 3 queue dodges in a row in draft where they waited until both teams made all their bans and picks, smh. Its literally been taking me a good 15mins to get into a game lol.

S'one reason I try to avoid Ranked.
Got me a troll Garen in my game just now. Destroys top, then starts to throw the game with deaths and just a complete disregard for map awareness. :applejack:

I'm going to have to see him. I can't decide if he sounds really fun or not at all to me.

It sounds like his Q and the fact that his R (if used as killing blow) resets will be his only teamfight presence. It SOUNDS like he'll be pretty good 1v1. But we have yet to see numbers, so I'll reserve on definitive judgment for now.

I believe he was saying Pudge is like this monstrous hulking pound of meat and rotting flesh that makes a lot of the more cartoony characters of league seem very childish in comparison..

It was a really harmless thing to say I don't understand why you got so uppity about it I think you were reading to far into it.

AD carry is in my opinion generally the safest, also a jungler if he's not particularly vulnerable to counter-jungling is good (eg naut).

Mid is relatively safe because most characters can farm even if they're losing in lane (gragas is not the best first pick for that reason).

Multi-lane champs are also definitely awesome, kennen, chogath, lee sin.

Or a FOTM OP.

Of course lane counterpicks is only half the equation, it's also about ending up with a good team composition for your endgame and you often need to weigh being in a losing lane or the possibility of being in a losing lane versus the advantage it will give your team if you survive laning phase. If you end up being counterpicked you'll need more pressure from your jungler.

But honestly, for most of solo I think it's a matter of if you can win your lane hard enough you can make things happen in other lanes and ultimately carry your team, so countering your opponent is a stronger strategy then going team utility.

Question for the resident AD expert. I saw some team that was beating M5 in tourney had a corki maxing gatling first.

Why would you do this over phos bomb?

i always max e before q... q is really mana-intensive... even though i've played a ton of corki games, it's been a long time since i've tried maxing q, so i can't say for sure that it's worse than maxing e...

I've always maxed gatling first. But I haven't played Corki in like a year, so maybe things are way different now.

It shreds armor and does aoe phys damage. Can't argue with that. Last hitting is so easy with corki's auto that you don't really need phos bomb for last hitting. It (used to at least) scale on AP so it didn't scale nearly as well as gatling.

people used to max the gatling when it was bugged out/broken, then turned to q for it's good burst/poke/it's extra blinding effect/farming. People put less emphasis on Corki needing to clear the entire wave then take two to three jungle camps like they used to - primarily because he isn't in mid any more to do it.

uhm I guess if you dont care about winning your lane, and you have other AD sources of damage on your team and plan on teamfighting early, gatling is the way to go

what are your guys' favorite passives?
Miss Fortune, Karthus, Lux, Anivia, Cassiopeia, Nidalee are the ones that come to mind. Oh and Trist.

Just started playing ranked. It's extremely silly, but I feel like I'm not doing too poorly (yet). I guess I'd like to play some more arranged fives with people, so I can learn how to stop sucking (such a passive way of asking for help, lol).

EDIT: MF/Janna bot lane seems kind of good.

Karma, Pantheon and Jarman... seriously

also, whoever said Janna is a tryhard. Janna's passive is the very definition of a boring, but powerful passive.
But but, I wanna move fast! I wanna move really really fast!

*goes boots of mobility on everyone*

Honestly though, egg. Such a troll passive.
