Oh wow, AV is here too. Spreading his delusions of being a top player here too, I see.

Anyways, ignoring him, I have never been able to find a real use for DAir and it's been bothering me. Is there any circumstance I'd want to use it in?

Tutu found a hilarious little trick involving short-hopping a dair right over someone, which catches immediate attempts at punishing due to the slight delay before Sheik drops. It also allows Sheik to recover low instead of high, if that's what she wants for some reason. Other than that, it's pretty much only handy for messing with other people's timings, or cutting through usmash-happy Olimars.

I can't effectively recover vs MK, even if I make it back I just get immediately knocked back off the stage, sometimes I can be sneaky and grab the ledge, but getting off the ledge leads to me getting knocked back off stage lmao. Like there are people that I otherwise go even with on stage but when I take 1000+ damage trying to recover only for it to lead to my death it just feels so dumb/hopeless/etc.

How to recover against MK/any good edgeguarder in general?

for DI you pretty much just want to aim your self at the corners of the screen. (or for sheik you want to go as high up as you can without getting to the top blast zone; this widens your recovery options by leaps and bounds)

Always use fair to momentum cancel hold down. Some times that isn't enough so you have to use your second jump as well; the reason you use fair is because ithas the shortest total duration of all your aerials so you can jump immediately after. if you are hit up it doesn't really matter what move you use since jumping won't help you live.
Also note some moves have a more hit stun and require you to wait a little longer before you input you aerial to momentum cancel.

OH!
the super up B... sheik's upB and other momentum based upBs (bowsers, links, etc.) get a huge horizontal momentum boost if you use them out of hit stun. I'll try and look for a link to me doing it. It comes up so often where you have used that second jump and super up B will get you back on stage.......
Mhmm.. So it's F-Air, and holding Down. Thankyou! :D

@ Everyone else: Tsk, tsk.

Did I say I was a top player? No.

I said I was a formidable opponent. So get @ me.

Whether you claim to be top, good, amazing, formidable, or whatever, you still have absolutely no evidence to your claim. The fact that there are only around 5 or 6 Sheik players who even matter makes it especially important to not talk about being good unless you're, you know, actually good.

If they're above me, I like to use falling Uair, and it oddly works more than I think it should. I don't think Nair is a bad option when recovering if their damage is high enough.

Still need help in the Wolf MU.

No.. It does not support anything. There are people that are really good--who have evidence to make their claim--and they think they suck. See the irony?

I don't understand your technical viewpoints. I am a formidable opponent rather you like it or not. :D

Just because some people have higher standards than others doesn't allow you any room to make claims without backing it up.
I am a formidable opponent rather you like it or not.
So, no, rather I not like it.

Alright, let me put it this way. :3

You say I cannot say anything about me being a great player until I have proof by beating alot of top players, right?

Now..

I say I am a formidable opponent regardless of this ''evidence'' and you can't prove whether I am or not.

See the double standard?

Why not just leave it at: I could possibly be a formidable opponent to you, and I believe that I am a formidable opponent. ^^

I'm not calling you good because I'm not calling you anything, at the moment - other than a bit of a braggart. Unknowns are not automatically good just as much as they are not automatically bad. To claim anything otherwise is to be either humble or arrogant.

Here, I'll put it in a really dumb and nonsensical analogy. In algebra, there is often the variable "x". The x can be any number. Saying it is positive or negative (or zero) before looking at anything that might define it is very obviously jumping to conclusions.

So, you're not a formidable opponent because until you make any appearance in tournament ever, you're not even an opponent.

In conclusion, even samurai have teddy bears and even the teddy bears get drunk.

Your ways for deducting things technical wise may make sense, but sometimes being too technical in itself can throw you off from the bigger

[picture].

Great choice of metaphor. In the bigger picture, you don't even exist.

What ankoku is saying is that you may very well be the best player ever, or not even that, maybe just "formidable" as you put it.

regardless until there is something there to back up the claim there is very little point in even mentioning it.

If I'm being cut off high I use dair to recovery low. (the idea is to go so far they can't follow you out hit you and recover, in the time they make the choice to go back to the stage you can use the up coming lag to get the edge safely or stage) and sometimes as a "well... this is the only option I can think where I won't just... die"

dair isn't a very good move mostly because of it's lag though

That makes no sense.

I personally think I am a formidable opponent.

Who is to say anything to oppose this until proven?

I will continue saying this because this is what I personally believe. What is so wrong with expressing what I think?

Okay... On the forums most people talk in more of a global view point?

The only experiences you have right now are your own. I was amazing when compared to the small group of friends I played with in college for example. but here in a global forum that has very little if any weight.

in your experience you are formidable. fine. But your own personal experience doesn't have much weight here right now because you are not yet a part of the global community.... or the regional community or your local compedetive boards going comunity.

Perhaps a possibility is that all beginners think they are good until they play someone way better. When I went to my first tournament I was POSITIVE I was going to win. Why wouldn't I? I had never played anyone I couldn't beat. I was way better than everyone i knew. The problem is I didn't know anyone good. Went to my first tournament and got destroyed. That's just how it goes.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!

for those who still question Sheik's gender

if you let sheik's shield break you can obviously hear a female's voice that oddly sounds like ZZS' voice

SO SHUT THE **** UP

Fine.. Fair enough.

I was making a logical point though, and it had everything to do with Sheik.

So I derpfore disagree, but understand your protocols. :c

I really enjoy blocking people on SWF

So far I have 3 people blocked in MI, I may soon find my lucky #4

also um I've tried the fairs and dairs and bairs and falling uairs. Like i think my issue is more than just "do this move" Like I'm always reading <3 say that Sheik has a great recovery just we aren't doing it correctly, so um maybe its a bit much to ask but can I get the full on essay of doing it correctly?

Aww. Sailor Princess!

Why so much hate towards me? I was doing everyone a favor while making a mistake I was unaware of.

Idk If I'll be at apex.

I'd like to go but one of the MI drivers is flying which i cant afford, the other michigan driver... idk if I want to go a another 12 hour car trip with him. Looking back its a miracle we survived the first time lol.

Going over 100 on the hilly and curvy parts of VA at like 5 am... I'd rather not do that again

Tell me.. Talk to me.. Share with me.. Your spite you have for me Princess Toot.

Enlighten me! The depths of fire you have towards me for inconspicuous reasons that I don't know of!

I must know!

Dear Artificial Intelligence, Sheik has very bad priority, and sucks against characters like Snake, Mario, and Luigis that know what they are doing. How shalt I ever relinquish myself from this pit of ignorance!

I must know, so I can spread light to all! and it's not going to be from Din's Fire.

I will forever solo Sheik. Zelda can go get kidnapped again and just sneak out with her alter-ego and kick royal *** as Sheik.

Can't stand Zelda.
